I punched a DC in the face and he did not react

Several hard punches to the face, and no reaction whatsoever. The DC just acted like I wasn't even there. This is not the first time it's happened either. For some reason DCs don't interact with me like they should. Is there anything that I can do to make DCs act normal?

      Thanks in advance.

If direct interaction doesn't properly work, perhaps you should try indirect interaction - rather than punch them in the face, trigger some mechanism you create or hit them with a blunt object.

Sounds like you don't have enough confidence in your power, either get more confident or you could try summoning and drinking potion of strength of some kind, or summoning and using some kind of power glove, alternatively go other way and expect DCs top be weaker when you punch them.

The easy way would be to think that DCs are real people and that they will react like another dreamer. You should get better results with this, but you'll get in some crazy fights!

If you want your DCs to react more "normally", have you considered treating them more normally? You don't go around punching people in the face in real life, so consider not doing that to your DCs in your dream. If you treat them like they are not real and do not matter, why are you surprise that they treat you like you do not matter either? They are acting like a mirror of yourself kind of. Consider talking to them instead.

This delayed or nonexistent response in DC interactions is pretty common(it happens to me anyways). Remember that the actions of DC's are controlled by your subconscious, while YOUR actions in dreams are controlled by you conscious mind. Basically, when you just randomly decide to punch a DC, your brain does not have the time to formulate a response as it would if you, for instance, asked a DC a question. You need to make sure your intentions in dreams have time to propagate and be processed by ALL parts of your brain. Next time, think in your head or even say out loud something like: "I'm gonna fight this guy, and he will fight back" THEN punch him, expecting retaliation.

Also remember that you CAN completely control the actions and emotions of DC's simply by narrating what you want them to do, and giving it time to sink in. Make a habit of it, and your dream control will soar to infinite heights.

Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

Are you truly expecting the DC's to react? Many dreamers (me included), have found that expecting something tends to make it happen.

On the other hand ... what if the DC's are actually not products of your own mind, but are instead unsuspecting, real people - as in fellow sleepers, who simply happen to be in a dream world, but are completely unaware of it (because they are in deep sleep) ...

      Just a thought.

Get in front of them and talk to them. They will respond. It works for me.

right before you threw the punch i bet you were thinking "i wonder what this will do" and then.. the natural thought after that might have been... "WHAT IF NOTHING" the instant you hit. lol. maybe?

I have this too sometimes. Sometimes fighting and punching people does nothing, it's like I'm weak and am barely affecting them. I've noticed I get more response from them when I use an object though, like a knife or something. Try hitting them with a big stick and see if it still happens.

That actually is quite interesting. But, the problem is, you can actually summon DC´s, which might mean that this theory is false

Maybe there are DC's which are constructed on the spot by the mind, and also fellow sleepers, who only wandered in there by mistake. Not every person appearing in a dream was summoned there by the dreamer - particularly so in non-lucid dreams.

I have not thought about how to test, inside the dream, whether a DC is really another person, who exists physically, and appears in the dream by means not understood. But maybe a strategy ought to be devised ...

Maybe that DC just had a really good chin.

If this is true, then that's cool because I have had sex with quite a few celebrities in my dreams.

Ah, but even if dream characters were fellow dreamers, dreams would of course not be what they seem at face value because dreams seldom are.

but where's the fun in that? Being limited by morality should only be a characteristic of the waking world, in my dreams I want to feel limitless

If you are punching dream characters of your own making around, then that must of course be your prerogative. If you are punching fellow dreamers around, after they have trespassed into your dream, then that is of course equally your prerogative.

In both cases, however, much could be argued in favour of abstaining from such behaviour (not least for your own sake).

But, if it is you, who have trespassed into someone elses dream, and you proceed to punch that person around, then there is clearly wrong-doing taking place - and especially so, if the victim is a sleeping non-dreamer, who is completely defenseless in a dream world.

This reminds me that someone needs to launch RSPCDOS (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty towards Dreamers and Other Sleepers).
