I really don't know why i dont find the Lion King one that sad, the Land Before Time one is much more sadder in my opinion.

If you're into japanese animated series then you should watch "kanon 2006" and "clannad". Very sad moments, but also very happy ones.

Goddamnit, that movie's pretty fucked up for a children's movie. I can't stand the sequels though.

So many scenes of Tekkonkinkreet get me every time. Like Grave of the Fireflies, it's one big disturbing ball of concentrated sadness.

I was trying to find a video of the end of scene 20, where Black and White are separated. I probably cry the hardest at that point.

Since I can't find one, just to give you a small idea, here's an AMV set to "Exit Music (for a Film)" by Radiohead.

I have not watched grave of fireflies. My sis watched it and walked in as she was watching the ending and she was balling in tears. I don't want to watch grave of fireflies.

But a recent anime I saw that was just depressing - Angel Beats. Which scene? Too many.

Oh yeah, and im surprised the land before time didn't traumatize me as a kid. I think it was that ending music, there was just something about it every time I heard it as a kid.

God, yes. Angel Beats tugs at the heart strings.

This is awesome if anyone hasn't seen it, and the ending is sad. And it's all made in Blender, a completely free 3d animation program that anyone can download and learn. But of course this was made by a team of people and it took a long time. (this video calls for HD and full screening)



And I agree, the fox and the hound was the saddest experience I had when I was little. The worst thing was that because I was so young when I saw it, I didn't even realize it was supposed to be sad, but instead thought I personally didn't like it. I was like "why... would they do it" and felt the whole world was cruel and I was alone in my emotions. It's still sad now, but at least I know it's supposed to be sad so it isn't as lonely and somehow doesn't feel as real. I don't know if that made any sense.

The saddest moment of grave of fire flies is the beginning scene. But you don't understand it till you watch the entire movie. And for the love of god don't watch the ending if you ever plan on watching this movie??!!!



It will make you want to cry, if you've already seen the movie.

I don't think grave of fireflies really has that strong of an impact. Yes it is sad, but the entire thing is sad from the first 5 seconds so the sad parts lack any kind of punch to it. Angel beats I think has a much stronger impact, because it has ups and downs.

Voices of a Distant Star. oh god, me and a m8 watched this after coming back from a party. worst decision ever, it was so difficult trying to hold in dem tears.
