You know when you dream and find a love, so deep, that you wake up aching? Or when you lose them in a dream, through death, and you wake with tears in your eyes? Well, I never thought a movie would allow me to reach that point in my soul...that I thought only dreams could. I found one. It's called: Never Let Me Go. I think the director and cinematographer did a great job capturing the depth of emotion from the actors, and the connection between Kathy and Tommy is very evident brought about by the actors own souls.

That's a rather good review. I love the film quite a bit, mostly because of one single scene, which stands as the crux for the entire film (and book as well, I assume). The film itself was sort of slow and sometimes I knew I was watching the film not because it was entertaining to watch all those drawn out, intensely subtle moments and interactions, but because it was all leading up to some point. It definitely delivers.

I hated it, yet I liked it. The plot was too real...but all plots should be like this one...

I just re-watched Highway to Hell, a low budget horror/comedy from the '90s about a young man armed with a classic car and a magic shotgun who rides a secret stretch of desert highway into Hell to rescue his girlfriend. This movie was awesome when I randomly caught it on cable as a teenager, and I was a little worried that it wouldn't stand up to time, but it still delivers in the same campy, B-movie vein. The jokes are obvious and very literal for the most part of course the effects are not the greatest (though there's some cool use of stop-motion and models thrown in), but there's an earnestness about the whole movie that really sells it.

Some opinions are bad and wrong. And bad.

Still, as I tried to edit in last night before my internet had a seizure, a lot of the comedy in Idiocracy may not hit as hard for Europeans. The corporate/media monoculture the movie satires has been exported pretty far and wide, but there are probably fewer places outside North America (and possibly Australia) where it's the only culture present, which is sadly the case in much of the suburban US and Canada.

      The Hunger Games

Somewhat predictable and very remiscent of Battle Royale; however, I liked its pace -- It didn't rush into an instagib bloodbath game. And the use of younger, innocent-looking children did move me quite a bit.... especially Rue. She reminded me of my younger sister.

I've mentioned on here before that I was expecting to really not care for hunger games and it very pleasantly surprised me. It even... dare I say... moved me.

Lil Zoe has bad opinions, btw

Chernobyl Diaries - it had about one or two 'scary' scenes, but it was full of cliches and got really boring after the first third. And that from someone who gets scared really easily.

The Dark Knight Rises, I think it was quite a solid action movie for entertaining purpose only. But not more and many plot holes, so mhh 5/10

I see foreward to Cloud Atlas and hope it's finally again a movie that I will think more about even when I left the cinema :3

It was mainly based off of Philip Dick's short story, as opposed to the earlier version of the film. "No CG trip to Mars, boys!"

I saw the Bourne Legacy last night.

Aside from being a fairly mediocre fan of the trilogy, knowing that Levi Meeuwenberg was a stunt double featured in the cast was one of the main reasons I went to see this movie--for the parkour scenes. Which were very few in between. Also this film being the last installment of the series and all, I felt the need to see how they were going to end the Bourne saga.

The movie started out incredibly slow, building up Aaron Cross' foreground into the plot. The story was almost hesitant to show any action at first. And when the story began to show conflict, the plot felt really one sided, headed in the most predictable direction.

      Spoiler for the movie...?:

Overall, it was a good movie, but it wasn't really worth the expensive admission. If I knew it was all hype and minimal parkour scenes, I would of waited for the DVD release and would've went to see Total Recall again.

Battleship. Cool effect, but that's about it. Some 80 years old fight aliens with some badass gear. I'm not going to spoil much more, so I'm not gonna tell you who wins.

I just saw The Campaign in theatres. I was expecting a kind-of funny comedy, but was pleasantly surprised. Someone else bought my ticket, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to see a movie.

It had a 15 minute stretch where it wasn't funny at all, but at one point I was laughing to tears from it. I'd give it a 7/10. Definitely not the funniest, but worth renting/checking out from the library.

Saw a documentary on youtube called "The garbage Warrior."

This guy is a genius. He's an architect that builds self sustaining houses out of garbage like tires, plastic bottle, and cans. Basically creating a small utopia of people in new mexico. But the government gets on him about building codes and takes away his architect license and he fights them. And also they go to other countries after disasters and build them houses out of garbage LOL.

The Expendables 2. I like the fact that the protagonists are a bunch of over-powered muscle heads. I mean, the first thing they did was plunge into enemy territory and destroy everything in their path. I also like the references on how godly Chuck Norris is. All I can say is it's a good film. It doesn't have any deep moral message or something like that. Just watch it if you like watching action-packed movies topped with super macho heroes.

      The Amazing Spiderman.

WOW. you remember in the 90's when a couple of batman movies were made that were a little too cheesy and just silly? That was my impression of the spiderman trilogy that recently ended. Then remember how the new series of Batman movies completely remade Batman with Christian Bale? This is how I felt about the new spiderman.

It wasn't stupid, overly cliched like the last series. The characters were fresh and more in depth. It was fairly dark for a spiderman movie. The action is just amazing. I really like how Peter's girlfriend isn't always a retarded damsel in distress. There's a part in the movie where she gets cornered by the lizard dude and she uses a spray can with a lighter to torch him. That was just awesome. It's just such a better movie for spiderman... Watch it.
