I think my automatic writing sessions were what you call imaginal dialogues, because it was always a conversation between two people. I feel this way about stories as well. I don't consider a story a purely imaginary thing, I think if you've got characters living in your head there is something subconscious going on. What if you made yourself a character in that story? What would your characters tell you?
