How did you discover Lucid Dreaming?

Just curious on how people found out about lucid dreaming. For me i remember waking up from a very vivid dream and wondered if there was a way to do it all the time. I looked up " how to have vivid dreams " and came across dream views

I was at another forum and saw a topic asking the forum members what they dreamt about. One mentioned lucid dreaming, so I searched the word up, and found some information about lucid dreaming, then I searched up, lucid dreaming forums.

There was this cartoon with like these wariors and there was a panda or something. Then there was an episode where they had to go into dreams and learn to control them. Then i googled dream control and found out about lucid dreaming.

had a really vivid dream where i had sex with my crush. looked up how to have more sex dreams and found this place. just goes to show that having a dirty mind isnt all that bad. interesting thing is that even if that didnt happen i saw it mentioned in a book i read a few months later, would have learned to ld either way.

I had a lucid dream. I thought it was really cool and interesting, so I thought I wonder what you call what just happened. I got on google and started on my lding journey. That was about 5 years ago.

my grandmother told me a long time ago that people could learn to control dreams with practice. was too young to look into. then heard about lucid dreaming on american dad back in november and looked it up

I was reading a psychology book in school and there was a bit about lucid dreaming. It had a technique: look around the room and imagine that everything is strange and dream-like, as if real life is the dream world and the dream world is real life. I did so kind of off-hand, but that night I had my first lucid.

My brother and I both have had spontaneuos lucid dreams since we were little. We used to compare them, although nobody else knew what we were talking about. When I got older, one of my friends in high school told me that there were techniques to having lucid dreams more or less when you wanted them, rather than just being lucky. He suggested dream journalling, which I found worked. When I realized that techniques could be employed to increase lucid dreaming, I continued to do research (when I had time) and learned about RC's and how to MILD and DILD. I found this place last year.

Been doing it naturally since I was a kid... didn't really know that there was a definition for "lucid dream" until a friend of my mentioned those key words. I stumbled on the "process" for lucid dreaming while researching a different mental process, Image Streaming. Dr. Wenger mentions Dr. LaBerge's Lucid Dreaming in his books on Image Streaming.

I had quite a few lucid dreams while growing up, but never really thought anything of them. I started researching lucid dreaming a couple years back and stumbled onto one of slash112's videos on YouTube, which eventually lead me here to DV.

Hm... was bored one day and wanted to see if there was any research being done on how to record dreams.

I have always loved dreams and the idea of dreaming, even the dull ones, so naturally when I stumbled across lucid dreaming I was all gung-ho for it. I stumbled across it on some strange website, black background I think with green colors on it. Haven't been able to find it since, so if anyone knows of a site like that about lucid dreaming, let me know.

It was on the forums for ZDoom, in the off-topic section someone posted a topic "been lucid dreaming again". After a few google searches I clicked the google suggestion "lucid dreaming forums".

used to do it as a kid before i knew what it was called. then after that i'm not sure. i think i read a book on astral projection or something. the meditation technique to induce astral projections helped with dream recall immensely, that combined with the mnemonic technique, well.. very successful for lucid dreaming
