What was their response? |

In two of the three LD's that i have had i told a character i was dreaming. one was to friends and the other a young unfamiliar boy. |

"The moment one gives close attention to any thing, even a blade of grass it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself."
"the more we sweat in peace the less we bleed in war"
"The cost of sanity in this society, is a certain level of alienation"

They always want to convince me that it isn't a dream. They usually laugh, or scoff it off as nonsense, or ignore it entirely. |

The ones I usually tell are my sisters, but I always seem to think of them as my real sisters. -_- I almost always consider people in my dreams other dreamers even when it is obvious they aren't one (probably because I want to share dreams). When I tell them that it's a dream they usually don't seem that surprised or to care all that much. The most they usually do is just say "Cool." and then just continue with what they were doing, but once in one of my dreams when I was flying around near my cousin she said "Aren't you worried about people seeing you fly?" |

If I ever mention that I'm dreaming, in front of a DC, I'm mainly telling myself and take my attention away from them as if they don't matter. (Psh, all they do is distract me anyway.) Other than that it's me trying to convince a DC that they're dreaming, sometimes me not even realizing that I'm dreaming. Argghhrumble. |
|
That's the exact reaction I got! I became lucid and turned around and some of my friends were sitting at a table talking. I turned around and told them I was dreaming, and then they said "Prove it!" while laughing. |
|
Rawr!
I've mentioned it to DC's of my parents plenty of times that I'm dreaming, as when I'm around my parents in dreams, they always try and distract me. |

Spoiler for Goals:
When I was about 8ish I told my best friend we were dreaming. He merely looked at me and said "I believe you" |

All of my DCs seem to know it already. Usually when I say something like "This is a dream, right?" they smile and say yes. If I go around telling them that it's a dream they just say something like "Yeah, so?" and continue what they were doing. |

"If you have a dream, don't wait. Act. One of life's little rules. Got it memorized?"

Last night I told a DC that I was lucid dreaming and they seemed very supportive, but not really that interested. I think it just depends on how you know the real person the DC is of and how you react to absurd or unlikely things. Skeptical? Gullible? Reassuring? Changes from person to person. |
|
In my last couple of lucids, I've made it a habit to ask DCs if I'm dreaming or not. So far, they've all told me yes, and some even go as far as to remind me of my lucid goals. I feel so lucky having such a nice subconscious! |
