Lucid goals for the new year

So, it's a brand new year. Did anyone make any resolutions pertaining to lucid dreaming? Any long term goals you'd like to accomplish by 2013? As for myself, I have a goal set to have at least 3 WILDS this year and 2 lucids a month.

I haven't exactly designed my goals. I'm saving them for tomorrow in which I got time to focus, but it's something I'm eager to do! Will probably going to be around:

      - 10/12 dreams recorded in a week
      - +100 entries in DJ
      - Focus more on my studies about lucid dreaming

Goals are really helpful for someone who doubts, I decided that I would only eat popcorns (which is something I'm crazy for) after a ld. Well some day I was so crazy to eat them that I said "no! only after a ld!"....."I better really really have one tonight, i want those popcorns" and bang lucid dream that night ^^

I like the idea of a motivator. I've never thought of doing something like that. Good luck with your goals.

I didn't make any goals for the new year, but this thread has inspired me to do so! My goal is to remember 5+ dreams per night and to notice when I'm dreaming so I can become lucid in every dream. So basically master DILD

      Good luck everyone!

Well, I've made a lot of progress in my first year (it's my 1st anniversary with LD the day after tomorrow ), so this year, I want to make even more progress! I'm going for the nightly, stable LD's! I'm sure I can make it, or at least get close enough! 3 LD's per week or so is my minimum for the end of this year.

I've made a resolution that's not really goal-oriented but more method-oriented (if that makes sense). I actually made a whole thread about it. You can find it here: http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/strits...2012-a-126277/ if you want to have a look.

I aim to get 100 total LDs (at 62 i believe) and also to finish this year's TotY, since I only did about half of it last year. I want my name to be a fancy color

It's good to be ambitious, though. I've been lucid dreaming for over a year and always have set my bar low. That hasn't really been working out. I can never seem to keep focused on lucid dreaming, so I get lazy. Im going to raise the bar. My new goal: 1 LD a week by the end of the year.

It seems you are (almost) all making goals about how many LD's to have within a curtain time period, but don't you think it would sometimes be better to make a goal about what you are going to do to get them rather than just how many you want.

Like, instead of saying "I want two LD's a week" wouldn't it be better to say "I'm going to say my Lucid mantra before going to sleep every night and I'm going to write my dreams down every morning" (or whatever method you've chosen) and instead of saying "I want to have my first WILD this year" saying "I'll make two WILD attempts every week"

I think this will work better for me 'cause it will keep me to it (but then again I'm a very schematic person).

      Just a random thought anyway...

Hmm, you have a good point.

However, I personally work better with goals and deadlines. I also get very competitive, so I'm having a little competition with my real-life best friend, where we keep scores after reading each other's DJ. We actually write it all down on paper with timestamps.

If I try to make schemes and schedules, I never stick to them. I don't know why. Or I do, but without the proper focus and intention. Big issues in school on that one. I just try every night to have a LD, if I remember. If not; just try again tomorrow one LD/week is a goal I want to have reached by 2013, not "from now on"

I think Hukif meant he wants to become so good at DJing that he eventually no longer needs it

Oh no, I have natural recall so even without a journal will remember more than 6 dreams a day, but I am also lazy and don't like writting them down so want to stop... then I made a promise about keeping one, so my goal is to stop the DJ without breaking the promise <.<

My goal also is to master the WILD technique. Also to move from being a good beginner at lucid dreaming to a competent lucid dreamer.

Cool thread to read. Interesting to see what "edge" everyone is working past.

      Lucid Dream/Out-of-Body Experience Goals

      1. To have 8 LDs/OBEs per month (I'm currently at about 4 or 5) by February 2011
      2. To increase the length of LDs/OBEs to 15-20 minutes (now only 3-7 min) by February 2011
      3. To write and interpret my dreams more often (I currently record them in a digital recorder)
      4. To find an LD/OBE partner or group
      5. To engage and experience my Inner Self
      6. To meditate during an LD/OBE
      7. To experiment with OBEs by checking it with physical reality

My goals for lucid dreaming for this year:

      1. Stop slacking
      2. Start recording all my dreams again (not just the awesome ones)
      3. Find out what technique works best for me
      4. Practise the crap out of that technique
      5. Have at least one lucid dream a week at the end of 2012

These are just my goals for lucid dreaming that I can work on while awake. I also have a large list of things I want to do in lucid dreams. I plan have completed at least half of those at the end of this year.
