      The Motivation/Inspiration Thread

Sometimes we just need that spark of motivation. And this is what I'm trying to accomplish here.

If we all compile thoughts/pictures here that you believe will be motivational to others, we can in turn motivate ourselves even more.

      Here's my little contribution:

I've heard that lucid dreaming can seem realer than life, and that's what gets me excited! I would also like to talk to my subconscious one day.

      Happy dreams!

Hi Sydney, a great idea. while I was still in the womb, my dad would chant to me through my mothers abdominal wall. I had always remebered the inspirational saying, there has never been a time in my life, when it was not clearly remembered.

The saying is "Anything you can conceive, and believe, you can achieve."
Here is my motivational speach for anyone who hears it. "I have found amazing otherworldy spiritual exotic or just flat weird things in my dreams. I assure you, you will be able to have a fantasic mystical hobby before long! Just stick to it. Stick to it for the rest of your life.

If I had to chose one thing that truly inspired me through dreams, and brought such captive dreams forward I would say one word... music.

Music truly has inspired some amazing dreams. But not just any music. I love instruments... like guitar music, more often from other parts of the world than the U.S. Personally I listen to Spanish or even Middle Eastern music that is fused by some sort of guitar instrument... from modern electric guitar to classical ones, and other guitar like instruments.

Although I should say... for American music I do enjoy listening to Tool... some of their songs do fuel my dreams.

And can't forget... Dead Can Dance.

Whatever you listen to... allow your dreams to be inspired by music.

Alright, well here's my bit. Your sub-conscious is quite entertaining, I became lucid not long ago and said four simple words which made something happen that I will never forget. "Show me something fun..." I was of course, speaking to my subconscious and an image of a giant plucked chicken appeared in the sky. I awoke bewildered... Hopefully fun things like this are motivating to some and yes, good quality lucid's are extremely lifelike. You could swear that you are really awake if it weren't for those giant sky chickens...

Here's another bit that I just remembered. I heard that lucid dreaming boosts the creativity of a person to an extent.
And I hear that the scenery of a dream is beautiful and inspiring, as well as the music. So since you're in a lucid dream, you take time to notice everything, like the scenery
I've never heard dream music before. I guess that's one of my long term goals.

Everyone is capable of both attaining lucidity and picking it up consistently. Never give up on what you think might never happen, because if you set yourself to it there is no limit to what you can accomplish in your dream world. Keep a journal, a positive mindset, and motivation from DreamViews at hand whenever possible

Yes, the appreciation of the dream, every aspect of it. Music is incredible in dreams too, original or not. The fact that what you are seeing and experiencing is not real, yet seems to be real, is pretty amazing.

Sydney, if you want your first taste of dream music, and can do the first steps of WILD you can hear amazingly life like music during HIs. If you are in deep enough that hypnogogic stuff starts happening you start humming internally or singing internally and pretend thhat you can hear the actual song playing on a radio. Often your brain will start actually playing the track for you in the dream space. It can sound as real as in waking life, but is even cooler because it is coming from you.

I don't think anyone has posted this yet, so I'm just going to link to Silver Bullet's Newly Revised Key to Lucid Dreaming

I think his method works really well if you practice it while you are falling asleep, that way your mind will be reminded to look out for dream signs and clues as you drift into a dream.

In a dream you are not bound by laws of physics, society or even logic. Hence you can be or do whatever you want.

The quote in my signature has always inspired me. "The best reason for having dreams is that, in dreams, no reasons are necessary."

Check out my DreamViews Podcast with OpheliaBlue!

The best reason for having dreams is that in dreams no reasons are necessary.

No sailor controls the sea. Only a foolish sailor would say such a thing. Similarly, no lucid dreamer controls the dream.
Like a sailor on the sea, we lucid dreamers direct our perceptual awareness within the larger state of dreaming.
