How long are your lucid dreams?

Would you say they are usually short, or long? Are those long all day like dreams possible when your lucid?

I've had them when I was a little kid, but I haven't slept in my back in many years due to "being more likely to have a scary dream" (my mom told me about it, I now wish she didn't). Now I'm back to sleeping on my back, but I'm not having lucid dreams as often as I did as a kid (unknowingly).

Generally, as a new person, I haven't got long LDs since I probably get excited.

I have only had a few lucid dreams but I haven't looked at the clock before and after them.

I have heard that you can sort of manipulate time when in a dream. A lucid might still take 30 minutes but to your brain it feels like a day.

My first lucid was about 1 second long. Over a year on and my lucids average about 10 minutes dream time

Mine range anywhere from 5 seconds to what feels like a couple hours. I have time skips. I'll do an activity and then the scene will switch and then i'll do something else, and so on. The really long ones are mostly non lucid. I had a regular dream where it was the first day of classes on a study abroad in Japan. Then i remember saying out loud to a friend while walking around the dorms "wow its the end of the semester and i dont even know my way around here yet." I woke up from that and it seriously felt as if i was in a dream for months. It really messed with my brain.

^Time really isn't the most important thing in lucid dreams I've had lucid dreams that are 30 seconds that have better than lucid dreams of 10 minutes. Also, the reason you should start to try lucid dreaming is the fact you can do nearly anything.

Focus on the content and control more than the time you spend in a lucid dream.

I've had lucid dreams that lasted 12 hours or so (dream time). On average though, a normal LD for me lasts about an hour or two (dream time).

Everything is possible in dream, dreams are amazing.
Generally my lucid dream length varies alot, sometimes it's seconds, sometimes minutes, longest was somewhere between 30 minutes and a hour so far. Also once i had week long non-lucid and got lucid for a bit near the end of it, haha.

After several attempts with lucidity of only a few seconds, last night I had a lucid dream of between five and ten minutes - difficult to be more accurate. I've read that with practice they can last fifty minutes or more. Can't wait. Raises a question though - what do you do in that time?

Hours on end inside the dream world lucidly and with a decent degree of control is an ability "to kill or die for", listen up guys, it is possible!

I haven't been lucid a lot lately I just got back (for good this time) from my last break from dream recall and seeking lucidity, so I really don't have much of an idea of how much time I managed to stay inside but I've had a couple of lucids where I thought "this has been going for some time now, am I really still here? what am I gonna do now?". That's not because too much time passed, what I'm trying to convey is lucid dreams can certainly last satisfyingly long quite easily actually, just takes a little practice and "know how".

My lucid dreams vary from lasting a few seconds to 10 minutes. They usually last on average of about 5 minutes.
I'm hoping that I can push my average time to 30+ minutes in the future but that's just a long term goal.
My Lucid Dreaming Motto - "I have walked upon the the surface of a burning star. Observed events so infinitesimal and instantaneous that they can barely be described as having occurred at all. My longest was around 5 minutes. I don't really understand how some people say they have lucid dreams that last hours. Do you guys have a special ritual that you perform in you're lucid dreams, or do we all just suck? I know that we are talking in dream time, but still.. Let alone people who say they spend years in there dream. I wouldn't be suprised that some people are just lying about this stuff.

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.

How lol? If you notice in your dreams when you go from on location to another or somewhere to somewhere you dont actually go, travel or move you just teleport. But it feels like you are going so you calculate the time. Next time try to think how much ''time i can remember spending'' you actually spent. I would be suprised if it could cover 10 minutes which is pretty long in itself!

I'm guessing that most of my lucid dreams last between 5 and 20 minutes. But it's amazing how much you can squeeze into that time. I have only timed a lucid dream once, as it happened in the 10 minutes between my clock alarms. And I was really surprised that I had done all that in just the 10 minutes (because if I had guessed how long it had taken me to complete all that I did in that LD, I would have thought it was at least two to three times that time.) So from that one example, I have to figure that when I estimate a dream to be a certain amount of time, it was most likely only about half that time.

Huh? Sometimes I do actually go. Sometimes its quick like a teleport and sometimes it isn't. I calculate based on the time it felt like I actually spent in a dream. I don't add in false travel time as you have assumed . I have hour and two hour lucids all the time. I'm surprised with your 150+ count that you haven't experienced dreams longer than 10 minutes (in dream time). Of course, I'm not actually dreaming for 12 hours compared to real time, but time in a dream doesn't work the same as in real life unless you have trained yourself to see it this way. Your perception of time in a dream seems to be very realistic. I encourage you to try and change this, so you can prolong your lucid experiences.

How does someone go about changing that easily? It's pretty drilled into our heads, meditation?

About 5 minutes and then I realize I'm not dreaming anymore but "daydreaming". Have you have that sensation, it's kind of weird and funny. Anyone has some advice as how not to wake up?

My longest was about 5 minutes. Recently they have been pretty fleeting. But Im still a novice, so it's to be expected.

I'm not sure about meditation, I don't really meditate (in the traditional sense) very often. I mean, it might work, but I don't know that much about it.

Like you said, its pretty drilled into your head, so you need to try and prove it wrong first. I would start by doing a WBTB and look at the time in waking life before going back to sleep. Then in your dream, try to keep that dream going as long as possible. Then once you wake up, ask yourself, "How long did the dream feel like it lasted?" Once you have come to a conclusion, look at the clock and actually see how long it lasted. The idea is to get one of those dreams that felt like it lasted for ages, but it actually only lasted a short time. This way, your mind has proof that your perception of the time it took doesn't always match up with actual time. This can help break that initial wall.

When I first started lucid dreaming, my dreams seemed to last a short time (about as much as they lasted real time). I've simply been trying to prolong my lucid experiences throughout the entire time I've been lucid dreaming. I'm at the point now where I almost always feel as if my dream lasted for 20-30 minutes. Many times, 1 or 2 hours. A few times, 8-12 hours. The last category is rare for me, but the 1 to 2 hour dreams are quite common.

To be honest, I don't know how it works exactly. Otherwise, I'd be able to prolong them for 12+ hours at will. Doing the time calculation could help you get your mind into the "My dreams are lasting longer than actual time reveals" mindset. That is a start at least .
