Thread: My Lucid Dreaming Awareness Plan For 2013

Cool fellow blender user! How long have you been modeling?

About three years now, but I've always been intrested in art and animation. My skills are fairly limited to anything related to modifying games like skyrim and oblivion. Whenever I model I usually just work on weapons or armor, sometimes creatures. Im sufficient enough at modelling but I'm trying to get used to texturing in blender.

Cool, I totally agree with you... If you need any help, I can animate human forms (only 2d though) When you get more into it PM me..

It's great to see more and more contributions to this, it would be great if the project could be developed fully by DV members, it would make it even more valuable due our collective effort

Hope you had a nice Christmas and thought of some amazing ideas for the draft I would just like to give everyone a huge thank you if you have been getting involved in anyway (Wow that really sounded like Sport's leadership) the amount of people is just super! I'd be happy to help! I guess the main skills I could contribute is doing one of the voices. I have some skill with music composition, I just don't know what style you're looking for so we'd have to chat about that sometime. But a voice for sure

Oh and by the way, if you're going to be mentioning DreamViews in any way (as opposed to it just being about LDing in general), then we would need to run it by Alex first. I could do that for you if it comes down to it.

I really need to check Also about mentioning Dreamviews... I was really thinking of just telling viewers that it is one of the best place to go to learn lucid dreaming. It's sort of a thank you present. I'm also donating a fair bit to Dreamviews from the advertising profits. If this needs to be run by Alex then can you please do that?

It would be really cool to share all that info we hashed out on sleep paralysis. So many people still join talking about it or are afraid of being in SP while attempting to lucid dream. It would be nice to let people know their fears are unfounded and unnecessary.

If you need any help with finding royalty free music, you can tell me the theme you're looking for and I'll try my best to search for it.

However, I'm afraid newbies will use lucid dreaming purely for leisure and completely ignoring the importance of dreams when they know about it. It'll be good if the video can convey the importance of dreams without sounding too dull.

Well I have some experience with animating, and composing music.

I'm a blender user but I have some experience in 3DS Max and Maya as well. I work in 3D, but I usually just do modelling and illustrated stills (have a look at the link in my sig) but I'm working on my first character animation as we speak.

I know a few people have offered their services for composing music, but I thought I'd also put it out there that I'm an electronic music producer and have various dream-like tracks that may fit.

Give these a listen - I think the first one (Isolation Sickness) would fit particularly well, as it has both chilled and exciting sections, as well as various dream-like sounds and dreamy female vocals. I can see someone flying round a dreamscape to this:

I think this is a very good idea...what little I know about it. I believe in intention and attention as having major roles to play in lucid dreaming. I also believe that visuals have a major impact on ones psyche, which then plays a large role in lucid dreaming.

I am working on another project right now, but I wanted to let you know that this sounds great. There is music designed to help you become lucid. I forgot what they are called, but someone will surely know what I'm talking about. I'll think about it and post to you again. I would definitely include these type of aids.

I would also look into the Mandelbrot Set.

I think what your thinking of are binaural beats. A lot of people have had sucess with them and I think it would be a cool and easy thing to add in. I think Mandelbrot is some kinda fractal art but correct me if I'm wrong. I've also seen amazing 3d fractal videos online and I think that would be awesome and probably fairly easy to implement(though I don't know how to do it). Btw is this going to be a video to try to induce lucid dreaming or promote it?

If binaural beats is what you're thinking of, it wouldn't be very effective in a Youtube video unfortunately, as it requires the use of good quality stereo headphones, each playing a single tone frequency (basically one note in each ear) and is far from music! It also lasts over 30 minutes. However, mention of this could be useful. Though I haven't had any lucids while listening to binaural beats, I have had some surreal vivid dreams from them!

From a little idea, you've decided to take it further and make a step towards getting lucid dreaming known to the world. Props to you, right there. Yes, I was trying to think of binaural beats, and yes, the mandelbrot set is based on fractal geometry. What is lucid dreaming dealing with except the psyche, right?

I'm just here to give everybody an update and thank everybody for the support, honestly I never thought the response would be so huge. I've looked at everybody's posts and guys you have got huge potential and talent. I'm starting to piece everything together. The logo design made by Araishu is just perfect, it's exactly what I had in mind. We will do a final vote on the logo just after the conformation comes through from the designer, they look great! So lots of credit to him. Secondly Scribblenaut, again extremely talented, I don't know if your work is exactly right for this but I have a different thing that I would love you to do for this project, that's really important if you are intreasted then contact me. And Mosh your work is just fantastic and in fact I would love to use isolation sickness in the video you will of course recieve the credit for the music in the credits. Which is good for you as well because I guess it's sort of like promotion Lastly Realdealmagic you say you are working on character animation as we speak? I would love to see that when its finished because it would do really well as the animation, great current work as well. To finish this all off I want to say a huge thank you, I have no doubt this is going to be a huge success and our goal of making lucid dreaming more recognised will be happening Also, I know I said the last thing was final, I'm going to make a date and time that every member can come on to the chat and express anything that they would love to see in the project.

I wouldn't mind doing some 3D animations as well. I have some experience with particle simulators and can create some cool particle/smoke effects which are pretty trippy. Here are a couple of things I've done:

It's Logo Voting Time!
Okay the final logo design is ready, however there are 2 possible variations that we could use. It's just different colours but I want everybody to have a say.
