Just curious. What happens for you guys when you tell DCs that they're in a dream ? For me they either act like they would in real life, or act like I just said the most obvious thing ever. |

They humor me. |

It is usually just a waste of time. the other night I had a faux awakening (I wasn't fooled for a second) my mother was screaming she was under attack, even tho suddenly at home and a bit disoriented by the relocation , I yelled that I was dreaming she continued to yell for help, I went to her room and said I am dreaming so you are dreaming and that she was wasting my dream time, she didn't believe me so I banished the half invisible floating lamp that was attacking her by waving my hands at it. |

Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.
For me, telling DCs that I'm dreaming has been a successful method for stabilizing lucid dreams. When I do it, they usually just stare at me and don't say anything. In my most recent LD, I asked two DCs "Did you know this is a dream?" The first one didn't say anything, and the second said "I don't know." |
|
What you describe is usually the case for me. They either don't believe me or they say they already know. I normally expect them to freak out or something but they never do. It's disappointing. |
|
Oof.
I once told a 'little person' that it was a dream because he was trying to stop me from getting into a library. He looked at his hands and laughed. He seemed amazed by it, but I was a little sad because I knew that as soon as I woke he would no longer exist. |

I think I've had most reactions at one point or another. The most usual reaction is ignoring what I'm saying or taking it for granted, though I've had dream characters actively trying to help me or actively trying to persuade me that I'm not dreaming. I've had a few extreme reactions from dream characters. At one point I had a dream character that was totally insisting that I should stop lucid dreaming immediately cause it was dangerous to my health. At another point I've had a dream character tell me I was dreaming, and thus get me to lucid dream. |

Ah, yeah! Most people act like I mentioned before, but there are some people that are "special" DCs that act more like they live in the dream world. They have powers similar to that of an LDer, some of which think I am special, but others think that I am no big deal. haha. Jason at least seems to acknowledge I have talent. He used to just be a jerk, but now he calls me when he wants help. |

I have gotten a variety of reactions as well. Violent reactions were rare and usually was authority related. My favorite reaction would be the smile that acknowledges its a dream though. :3 |

Well, sometimes they don't respond at all, like they don't understand, or care. And Sometimes they already know. The ones who are also lucid are the most interesting. |

When I once asked a dream character what it was like to be a part of someone else's dream, he just said, "I don't know, why don't you tell me." |
|
Usually I get no response from them or they seem worried. I remember having a LD in which I was in a classroom and I told one of my classmates that it was a dream. They stared at me with a worried look and said "You shouldn't know this." |
|
Usually when I've mentioned it's a dream (or do anything else, including crazy things), DCs just seem to accept it without much reaction, as if it's totally normal. The only exception I remember was one occasion where I said it to my younger brother and he said “Huh?” in confusion. |

I did this last night and I watched my own mother go through an existential crisis. :/ |

I typically let a DC know that it's a dream, but they've never cared before. They're all heartless assholes haha |
