How long did it take for your first lucid dream?

How long did you have to practice for your first lucid dream?
I don't mean a dream from 5 seconds, bot one in which you could actually do something, and probably gave you an awesome feeling in the morning

EDIT oh noes i made a big typo, when you see it ... someone fix it xD

      Title fix'd

My first lucid occurred on the day I read about it and discovered this place, thanks entirely to my excitement. It was short lived and doesn't fulfill your requirement there, but I'd also took off to flying down a hallway which means that I was able to do something right off the bat too. A slightly longer one was experienced the day after, which including more flying/floating. My initial actions were pretty generic, but there you go. Being lucid for the first time was euphoric.

It didn't take me that long to have my first handful of lucid dreams. I had one where I knew I was dreaming, but couldn't do anything probably between 2 weeks to a month of when I started reading forums like this one. Then, a couple weeks after that I had my first real lucid dream. So about a month total.

On my third night. I was about 8. I had never heard of it, I just wanted to know if I could make use of my dreams to practice the modification of human behavior.

I was in college when I was tested in it.

I have always got my strangest response during the state by asking the question "Does Lucid Dreaming have any real value?"

When I was shown a piece of my future, I was also informed that I would be in the dark for a long time.

I have my projects. Very nice ones, I think.

I've been working on it for well over a year now. Still no success ):

But when I do get one, I'll vote

My first lucid that gave me that awesome feeling was when I was 12 or 13, I didn't learn what lucid dreaming was until I was 15 or 16 (2005 or 2006) and didn't have another one until I was 19(4 months ago). That's when I realized what a lucid dreaming really was and how awesome it was, it's also when I realized the dream I had when I was 12 or 13 was a lucid. Since then I have had more lucids than I care to count (At least 20). I never really practiced though so I can't answer the poll.

I think about 3 months after I first started trying to get lucid I finally had one. It ended early (3 minutes), but that was because I thought they only lasted that long so, in an attempt to remember the dream, I forced myself to wake up.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

I got one a little more than a week after joining DV. It was a DILD shortly following advice not to try so hard (I was very obsessed during that period). It was memorable, long and fun. I had them once every few weeks when I kept recording and RC'ing. When I stopped my recall went down rapidly and lucids vanished with it.

I remember my first lucid very well, and it by far surpassed any expectations I had for it. I was also very fortunate enough to have it within a couple of weeks after I initially discovered what lucid dreaming was all about. It was quite a long lucid dream as well, at least until I succumbed to a non-lucid state. I still remember how excited I was after I woke up and realized what I had done.

Lucid goals: Fight and kill Jacob Black [X], Go trick or treating as a wolf [ ], Help a pack stalk and hunt a large extinct game animal [ ], Play fetch with a DC [ ], Become a shape-shifting spy deployed behind enemy lines [ ], Face and fight off a nightmare as a wolf [X], After transformation look in mirror and really observe every detail about my body [ ]

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
