I also agree with Xanous about focusing on an object to help you calm down. Sometimes I also do calming mantras before bed, or relaxation techniques when I attempt WILD. It really helps me focus on myself. The technique I use is the shore/ocean thing where I imagine lying on the beach. Then I imagine an ocean wave reaching my feet area, then the waves keep coming, going higher and higher up my body. I also mentally say my mantras in time with each wave. This technique really helped me in my first WILD, I was a lot calmer when I noticed a bit of SP, and hallucinations.
