      Question LD Count is crazy.

Man the LD counters on some members are crazy. Like 2000 or something. I have question for those members. Is there a certain way you go about having LD?(I don't mean solely on technique. Because the techniques aren't 100% for everyone) Or is it all by luck? I'm trying to have my first LD and am trying to get advice for the pros here. Thanks.

      Simply dedication.
If one have this kind of success, you can surely assume that he worked hard enough.

Thats not crazy... most naturals have 10k+ anyway.
What I do for LDing is RC simply, but when I RC will do it for extended periods of time (One RC for two or more hours), been trying to get back in shape and do the all-day one, but forget due to school.
Also, I learned to LD whitout the aid of tuts or the kind, just in case.

So are RC's more beneficiaries to have a LD then say are Dream Journals? I find it crazy because you can only have 1 dream a night. I would lose count after like 15 days. I do believe that you guy's have had that amount though.

What do you mean? Unless you sleep more than once a day. You can only dream once a night.

That is 10000000% false.... where did you read that false information? We have at least 4-5 REM dreams every night..

This is interesting, Walms. I never thought about doing a RC that lasts a long time. I'll sure give it a try tomorrow, thanks for the info.

      What ?
We can have dozens of dreams every night, it depends on how much you sleep and your REM period. Each sleep cycle, usually, lasts for 90 minutes, the REM starts with like 10 or 15 minutes - or a little more - and can be of 1 hour length in the last sleep cycle.

Yea last night I can remember that I had at least 6 dreams. And the last one had to have been like 30 minutes long and the one before that was pretty long. So we definatly dream more than once a night, but it might seem like its all put togther. In reality its all during seperate rem periods.
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

Lmao! It's dedication, and some people here are natural LDers, too.

His patented Awareness o' Gravity method, of course. It's actually quite ingenious, the way he puts constant focus on the feel of his weight.

Yeah, most naturals have just been conditioned into having them, over the years. Of course there is some dedication involved, though. I almost lost my ability, when I was growing up, but I got interested again, when I found DV. My LD count is just since my time here, but you can see how people who have been doing it, since they were children, can have had 1,000's of lucid dreams.

And the bit about only 1 dream a night is completely false. I've logged 8+ dreams in a night, and I know there are people here who have had more.

I use methods and reality checks, every now and then - not as much as I should, I suppose. Lol. But most of mine are just because of awareness of a strange or intense situation, within the dream.

      I rarely use MILD.
99% of my lucids have been through DILD, basically being skeptical as to whether or not I could be dreaming... Like right now... Hmm...
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

You usually wake up only for a few moments, I believe, so most people don't remember. After all, they're half-asleep.
Haven't you recalled more than one dream a night sometime before?

I was reading a magazine article the other day and the author said that he has had at least 15,000 lucid dreams and doesn't bother to keep count anymore. Walms, two hours on a reality check, that's dedication! The most I've had in one night is four and I'm working on a method that promises multiple lucid dreams every night without the need for reality checks, just pure awareness. Oh, as others have said, I wrote in my dream journal today four dreams recalled from last night.

Either you are born with the gift to LD that frequently or you don't and to get around the 100s you'd need extra help like the REMDreamer I think or some other method like WILD maybe if you can master it. DILDs can get you around 10 per year if you are really good at it but don't expect it to get to 100s per year. Not to say I'm jelous but those high figures may be exagerated, no way to find out for sure so don't be discouraged by frequency it's the memory of what you dreamt that really counts.

I am sure you are right in some respects. But for those that focus on improving DILD/MILD skills I say it can be learned effectively. When at the top of my game I can DILD pretty often, far more than 10 per year, but I have never used a REM dreamer or other such device and certainly am not naturally gifted. (I have had just about every major and many minor obstacles in LDing and still have many to overcome.)
