Bwahaha, join the dark side OP. I'm usually pretty particular about my apostrophes when it's for "it's, there's, where's" (when indicating 2 separate words- it is etc). Everything else is just too confusing. "My baby's crying" or "My babies are crying". I get that. Beyond that
Just like capitalizing words. What the heck? *rage* I understand, states, titles, names are capitalized but beyond that So I just capitalize what I think it most important

Much success to you, Zoth!! 400 pages though *faints* Impressive...

Dianeva... I'm going to have to kick my computer or something so I can at least see what y'all have accomplished! Sounds very cool!!

Tiresias You've not had any luck, have you? I hope your next purchase lasts! If you do get the iPad Air, I recommend getting as much memory as you can- especially if you're an app hoarder or will play games on it. My hubby heard someone say people rarely use all of the memory and the extra is wasted so he got me the lowest one. I love my Air to pieces. I'm on it every day for hours at a time, but I definitely have to be more choosy about what I download and keep.

My rant is that my dogs farts are killing me. I'm about to kick her out of my room lol. My toes still hurt too and I'm getting a blister on TOP of my long middle toes

I did not want to go for my walk last night, but I did. I had to push myself the whole way but the dog and I walked our 2 miles My rave is that there wasn't much wildlife out (we usually see lots of deer and rabbits) but we passed hundreds of wolf spiders. Their eyes twinkle like tiny pieces of pale blue glitter. So that was really neat. An owl hooted in the distance as we got closer to home, which was nice too. I'd love to see him as I hear him often at 3AM.

There will be no walk tonight. Being the 4th of July, I'd be asking for trouble. I'll probably take a Benadryl and head to bed early so I can do laundry all weekend. We're supposed to have nothing but sunshine for the next 2 days.

      Hope you're okay Anju.

I am aiming for the 16GB one, since most of my apps are on Android. Any apps on my iPad would be writing, web surfing, and maybe gaming related, but nowhere near what my Nexus uses.

I really need to stop this overflow of stupid feelings that come and go whenever the fuck they want.

People suck. Lots to rant about but have no time. I'm buying in to bitcoin again, maybe dumb but fuck it, I love bitcoin.

What going on Anju? Please don't die, PM me if you need to talk.

      all around.

My rant isn't really a rant... it got very cold all of a sudden. I slept like a baby and didn't want to get out from under the covers... now I have my AC off and my space heater on Destinee's borrowing my dog for her body heat lol

Benadryl gave me really weird dreams. I was at the movies in one. I was in control of running the movie (sometimes a DVD, sometimes a VHS). But I kept falling asleep. I'd rewind the movie, but fall asleep in the middle of it. When I woke up once within the dream theater, I had slipped off my dress and was holding someone else's baby (from the row in front of me). No one complained. I think everyone in the theater was sleeping too  Then I was running a fever in the dream. I couldn't stay awake lol. In another dream, I argued with my oldest about icecream flavors

A rave is that I ate Sour Grass and Purple Clovers for dinner last night. It was actually very good but boy the sour grass IS sour. Like eating a Lemon Head candy. Destinee called me ghetto "We're so poor you're eating grass!" I have food, silly girl, but I wanted something very different. I've not eaten sour grass since I was a wee kid. The clovers were much more trouble than they were worth though. Like pomegranet (sp). Too many little pieces. When I do laundry later, I'm going to see what else I can forage

For now, it's Slim Jims and a can of corn. Oh yeah. I discovered that the corn IS making me feel like I've been punched. It's happened the last couple times I've eaten it I may skip the corn then and eat oatmeal instead...

When I was trying to justify my direction, that is buying an iPad Air and keyboard case so I can write and do apps when I am away, I found out my laptop costs $800. That's $1200 in 4 years for two computers that never lasted a full year. The ASUS I have now had to be resoldered a year in, and the computer before that just died and caught fire. I give up.
My motherboard broke last year, and I hit that wall were I either buy an old motherboard that will be obsolete if I choose to upgrade in the future (spending money just to keep my computer running) or buy a new motherboard but also have to buy a new processor.
And now both my 8 year old hdd is acting up and my graphics card from 2009 is starting to die too. Not to mention that if I want to play any game newer than last year I'll need to upgrade my graphics card anyways. I don't get how people can afford to upgrade to a from 7950 to a r9 280 just to stick to the latest games, that's like a new graphics card every year and a half.

The only computer I've ever owned that lasted long was a tevion from aldi, it lasted almost 9 years and still ran without ever needing a new component. Brands can be deceptive...

It's ridiculous. This year, my hard drives AND mother board died in my custom computer. The newest part was 3 years old, and I moved a bit, which can cause issues. My hard drives were 6 years old, and I upgraded to 1TB HDD and 1 120GB SSD. The speed increase has been crazy. I got a value motherboard, that is light years faster than my old one. I am okay with this sort of upgrades.

I found out Apple's back to school special is still happening. New iPad Air for $30 less than retail + $50 at the Apple Store. I wanted to get a keyboard case, but I found a better reviewed one on Amazon for cheaper, so $50 in iTunes money. Works!

I have been really introverted this weekend. There was a pool party Friday that I avoided, and there's one tomorrow that I am really not feeling. I'd rather go write at the coffee shop.

I've managed to get my reading speed up to two pages (roughly 500-600 words) per minute, but even that seems frustratingly slow. Often times I get so annoyed that I find myself focusing more on the words "read faster" than I do on the book itself, and it just ends up slowing me down. I'm reading at twice the speed of the average adult, so I should be content, but it's quite honestly infuriating.

A few months ago I could hardly get through a single paragraph without straining myself, it took me damn near an hour or two to get through a few pages, so I should be proud of the progress I've made... Instead, I'm growing evermore dissatisfied. The more I learn, the more irritated I become with my own ignorance. Four years I let slip away, four fucking years. I did nothing, absolutely nothing, but let my mind stagnate.

What bothers me most is that I can't decide whether to blame mental illness or a weakness of character. >__________________>

Narwhal  Fruit flies are the bane of my existence... but houseflies have recently joined my "party". Annoying creatures, all! (Sorry if you're referring to something else- some cultural (pop/entertainment etc) reference that went over my head or something ) It's early. My brain isn't working right yet

I read at a snails pace too, I have no idea how many words per minute I get through. My mind often wanders and I have to go back and reread previous paragraphs

I do not envy you, Ophelia! It's been getting very cold here at night, so I've been appreciating that blessing. Our 75-85 degree days have been bad enough for me!! I do not tolerate the heat very well at all anymore.

My oldest son and I helped my hubby in the yard yesterday. There's a drainage grate across one part of the driveway that became clogged with weeds and dirt. We had to unbolt the grate, remove them then maddox all the crud out. The maddox was my sons job. He worked for about 15 minutes then said "Mom? I don't feel so good." There was a lot of fear in his voice. I told him to get to the shade and take a break. He came back to my room a few minutes later and was extremely pale.
Miley got the rest of the gunk out.
When I went out at the end to help hubby put everything back together again, I was repeatedly squatting and leaning over then standing up. Waves of dizziness would wash over me, so I'd just close my eyes and wait for it to pass. That's common for me (vertigo) but the heat definitely made it so much worse!

In the garage, hubby has this round stool thing he sits on when tinkering with stuff. The stool seat twists in circles freely. I sat on it and yipped because I thought I was going to fall. It tilted when turned. Then I had fun with it. There's a tool rest you can also put your feet on and when I did, the seat went perpetually in tilted circles. After two rounds I felt like I was going to vomit But I kept it up for a dozen or so... giggling the whole time about how horrible it is to get old. The seat was like a "tilt-a-world" ride. Baby stuff. I used to live on roller coasters and now the tilt-a-world makes me sick

Took another benadryl to sleep early (after an almost 4 hour long nap ). Sleep didn't come until 3AM and then I had a slew of weird dreams. I slept wonderfully all the same.

I tried to do this, but I read fiction, and I wasn't getting the same experiences as I was when I read normal. I also have a tendency to experience and memorize actions in books, so if I am speed reading, I am losing that experience. It's great for non-fiction though.

I don't think I read fast. Does it really matter, unless you're trying to cram information for a class or something? I never actually timed myself, but I think I tend to read maybe 1-1.5 pages a minute, and that's with a kindle where the pages are generally shorter than in a typical book. I used to read faster, I guess, but I also didn't really retain anything. So now I just read to enjoy the book, and reading faster doesn't make me enjoy the book more. Of course, reading faster AND retaining everything would be nice, but I'm just as happy now reading at my snail's pace. I figure that speed will come with time, or it won't. And either way I won't mind.

My vacation's almost over. Really, the main bummer is that my sleep schedule got pushed back. I was waking up around 2am and going to bed around around 5pm, which would be easier to transition from back to my 3rd shift schedule. But today I woke up around 7am. It's 1:30pm now, so I'm going to try to get to sleep around 7pm, which is probably going to be hard since that's only 12 hours awake. But I want to go biking tomorrow as soon as the sun rises and then try to sleep around 2pm so I can go to work Monday night.

The rave is that I've gotten a lot done today, essentially trying to compensate for a short "day" by using up lots of energy. Hopefully. I was going to go biking this morning, but I forgot that I had a flat tire from the other day. So instead I replaced the tube and gave the bike a well-deserved cleaning... in my bath tub. So then, I gave the bath tub a well-deserved cleaning as well. Now I'm here, sitting in front of my computer and feeling lazy after a brief lunch... so I ought to get my ass up and back to work before I loose all momentum.

I don't know why it works, but it seems to be the only thing that does the trick. I also wasted the last four years doing nothing but getting high and watching tv, so my education took a major hit. A series of manic and depressive episodes left me damn near retarded for a while, so I've been spending the last few months trying to undo the damage by soaking up as much information as quickly as possible. =/

As for reading comprehension, I seem to retain more information the faster I read. So, in theory, if I can just increase my reading speed to something like 600-800 wpm, I'll be able to learn much more rapidly. I've got a bunch of books I've assigned myself this summer, and I want to get to a point where I can start knocking out one or two a day.

Ahh so you're up for a challenge then.
I guess you'd have a fun time trying to speed read this Harold : the Last of the Saxon Kings

I tried and I failed miserably, so I went to an easier to read book on hallucinations...and I failed again. My best speed is just under 500wpm and I'm sorta missing some bits though most us all right.
I guess I'm too used to reading at a good pace and letting the information and setting of the book soak in.

Bah! My rant is that I've spent the last two days mostly sleeping. I got 2 loads of wash completely finished, only to remember upon smelling the clothes that I loathe our cheap soap without rinsing at least twice... so I completely redid them yesterday. I slept between loads. I got my sheets washed, rinsed twice and dried and the smell still bothers me. It didn't keep me from going to bed early though. I've missed my walks all weekend.

A rave is that 1 1/2 Celexa (60 mg instead of 80) works perfectly for now. Mr.Monthly stopped by for his visit a couple days ago... there's discomfort but no fall-on-the ground pain and my yawns have not returned nor has the strange depression I hit at 40 mg.

I only took Benadryl for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) but maybe there's still some in my system making me extra sleepy? I've still been having weird dreams. One of the ones from last night was of my mentally handicapped (and deceased for a decade) uncle. He kept climbing onto a closet shelf and then pushing himself off trying to break his neck The entire dream was spent trying to calm him down and find relatives to help him. He was always a very big man IRL (very overweight) as he was in the dream. But him squeezing on a small shelf worked perfectly with dream logic
I've been dreaming about my ex-husband a lot too and about being stranded in WV and trying to make my way to FL to be with my family (where I lived when we were married).
I've also been having a LOT of flying dreams which is always wonderful It makes up for all the weird ones (as if flying isn't )

Think I'll go back to sleep now

I did the same thing Gavin. Although less getting high and more just wasting time in a shitty job, and then browsing reddit or playing video games all day.

You can place some blame on your mental-makeup, but also realise that you need to put in effort to change (which you are doing now, so.... good ). It doesn't have to be just one of the things. And also realise that placing blame on either doesn't change anything.

Girl at work got jealous that I was talking to another girl, now she is being very mean to me Calling me a retard :'(

Probably also had to do that she tried to talk to me before that and I didn't say much. Not sure why I can't think of anything to say to her.

I'm getting restless while on break from uni, but I am also dreading going back soon as well. I kinda don't wanna have to go through another semester of this intense studying. It was pretty difficult last semester and I started waning on study toward the end. I also have to wait until very late to get my subjects sorted out, coz the results only come out a week before classes start, and they need the results to determine if I can change courses, which is so stupid. They should know that I'm going well from the results other than the exams.

So there's really nothing I can do about all of that for a while and it's frustrating.
It was hard enough getting everything sorted out first semester when I had two months before classes started.

Too much drama, Tommo. I think I'd ignore all of them lol

My rant is that I slept away another day... I've been awake since 7:30PM and my body is telling me to go back to sleep but I'm like NO! I'm sick of sleeping lol But I'm beginning to get a migraine so I might not have much of a choice Gah!!!

2 silly rants are: 1) I bought some more baby wipes the other day. I actually stocked up on the only 6 they had because they've been running out lately. I poured a bit of 91% rubbing alcohol over them as I always do but they're making my hands sticky. I have used this brand and that method for a decade at least. If I use 50% alcohol or a cheaper brand they'll sometimes feel a tiny bit sticky but this is extreme and driving me bananas. Hubby has always claimed they made his hands sticky. I wonder if body chemistry comes into play somehow and how I can fix mine

      2) The outer edges of my upper lip are darkening. First it was only the right side, but now the left is darkening as well. It looks like I'm wearing lip liner. It's not BAD. It's actually kind of nice. It would be better if my entire lip was lined, though. But it's WEIRD. What the heck is causing it? I am very rarely out during the light of day. I'll make brief store runs or hang up laundry but that's about it. I dislike the heat. So I can't see how it would be sun related. I had hubby look at it earlier and he said it looks like an allergic reaction... but how could that be when the area is so limited.
The right side has been darkening for months.
I googled it and it could also be hormone related. Interesting. I'll have to make a note if the tinting changes throughout the month...

I met my new rental property manager today to sign a 12 month lease.
I saw on the contract that there was a condition specifying no pets, which I asked about, since we'd previously been given approval for our 2 dogs to live there.
The manager tried to reassure me that dogs would be fine, because the clause only stated that birds, reptiles, and mammals were prohibited, not dogs.
I can't believe I actually had to explain to him why the contract needed changing...
This will be an interesting 12 months.

Great surprise: I didn't get in.

Not only that, I was placed 9th in the list of 10 people. Despite being the person with the highest grade in the exam (note: an exam in which people with Master Degrees failed), the only one presenting a portfolio of academic work, the only one who had subjects completed in that faculty, not only I didn't get in...I was placed practically last.

They asked nothing about my portfolio during the interview, which I assumed was fine since they had it with them (probably gonna check it later). But no: apparently top exam grade and being the only person who actually showed academia work with a portefolio of 400 pages....get's you last place. I don't even know how I could have done better, especially since I showed evaluation forms and research with should at least give me equivalency to half the degree, not to mention the other subjects I completed while studying there some years ago.

No comments, I did the right thing on criticizing their application process in my essay, it's a freaking joke.
