I can hear peoples thoughts. all the time. Some are good some are bad or mean. I try not to think about it and Ive only used it once to steal money. I dont like being in peoples heads because thay all think weird things. I dont like the way people look at me because I know what they think.

Enjoy your schizophrenia. But seriously, if this is an actual thing you are hearing, or think you are hearing, then you should see both a psychologist and psychiatrist immediately. I'm disappointed that Linkzelda did not suggest something like this.

(Trust me, I'm a mental-health bro, I know how much delusions can suck)

One thing I learned is that I can only wish the best for people, and not try to fix everything their lives. I'm not responsible for what a person does with their life, and you shouldn't make it look like I'm liable for any kind of consolation, suggestions, motivation, etc.

*shrug* Just thought it odd that you tend to respond to about 95% of the other posts, and since this person implied they feel 'uncomfortable when people look at him/her because he/she knows what they think,' you could've nudged them towards a path of mental freedom.

We might have different opinions on mental illness, (but if this person's never considered it before [which is probably the case, as according to my abnormal psychology class, most {98% says the book--though I myself debate the accuracy and bias of that statistic} schizophrenics don't realize when they're having a delusion], then it is an option they should explore. IMHO).

Those other confessions where easy to respond to based on the situation, and most of my comments were aimed to be full of jest, but that confession specifically was more serious, and I didn't want to have any say in it simply because I felt my opinion wouldn't matter if I wanted to be serious and empathetic to them.

Thank you for reminding me that a little consideration goes a long way, I just didn't feel I could add on to their response.

I kinda got the feeling that was the case.

I joined the forum to get some help, and advice. Only to find out everybody else is a lot more messed up than me.

I do not masturbate to porn. I masturbate to technical science books. No joke, the stimulation helps me stay focused and gives me time to absorb dense material. Also, I literally have not felt sexual arousal in years, and am not sexually attracted to any orientation/gender. Masturbation is just another stimulating activity.

I get paid to fap because I do it at work.

I think anyone who says, "having faith in the scientific method is the same as having faith in a religion" is an imbecile.

PM me and we'll sex, anonymous person.

Regarding hearing people's thoughts guy, I read it as more that he knows what they're thinking. Not literally hearing their thoughts.
Which is more an empathic thing rather than schizophrenic, IME.

Word choice. This person said "hear" and "all the time." They have also apparently acted on this "knowledge" to somehow steal money. Also, all the people this person hears all the time all think "weird things." "Trying not to think about it" was ambiguous, but it generally implies the person isn't in control of the thoughts they hear (rather than: "I usually choose not to think about it"). Also, this person said they "don't like" it, twice.

Basing off of personal experience with disorder(s)/friends with disorders/other ward patients with disorders as well as a psych class I took. The confession could be interpreted as ambiguous (not as ambiguous to me, given my experiences), but I'm assuming the worst case scenario, for the poster's future safety and health.

I think Snowy is cute and attractive in the least sexual way possible.

      4/5/2013 4:05 PM

Why is it the same people that claim faith in the scientific method is different from dogmatism are the ones that refuse to engage in debate that challenges the current scientific paradigm? Seriously, I'm sick of people degenerating into circular logic and ad hominem while boasting that they don't believe in religion, but "science." That's not how the scientific method works, dumb ass. You can't just be like "Oh yeah well you're wrong and I'm right cause science, bitch"

      4/5/2013 4:48 PM
It's just that the scientific method is peer-reviewed, analyzed and repeated often, and continues to be redefined instead of being a defeatist in some concepts religion doesn't really put much emphasis on that makes these people more confident.

There are people who do go a bit overboard with science and insulting other religions and being militant in their endeavor as well, but you just have to know that these people (their attitude) are absolutely useless if there's going to be actual scientific research and application into something.

I'm not really gay. I'm a closeted hetero who doesn't want anyone to know that he's straight.

      4/5/2013 8:47 PM
Please don't tell your parents, it would ruin their lives if they found out their son was straight and was into women. Oh man, think of the ostracism that would come along with that....

I think anatomically correct mannequins are sexy.

well, i has hoping that the whole "anonymous" thing was just a trick and after a month all the usernames are revealed of who typed what.

^lol, I've been paranoid about the same thing. That's why I've only 'confessed' a couple minor things that I could just write under my name without caring that people know. There are things I could write if I was absolutely sure it would be anonymous but it would be too scary *just in case* someone hacks into it and matches the IPs and reveals who said everything, or the site provides a way to tell who typed what which Link is planning to reveal in the end, or Link himself can tell who said what and is just using this whole thing as a power trip.....

The link doesn't give IP addresses whatsoever because I blocked it off and I plan on keeping it that way. The survey isn't going to end because I'll keep deleting the confessions from the link after they've been posted here.

And as for me getting a power trip, doing that is like trying to be a cool kid at a mental institute. I get no sense of control, or any kind of "blackmail" to use. How am I going to use the information against you? It seems a waste of time, and it's not like we haven't confessed enough from that rant thread. (Especially when you had that one post where you had desires of the staff members being corrupt and evil, which was kind of cute.).

It's that kind of paranoia that prevents anyone from having any fun here. As if your information is actually going to help me feel good/in control/powerful/etc.

      Ha.

      4/7/2013 3:09 AM
      *monotone voice*

Oh noooo, we're going to dieee *snore*

When I was ten I lived on a pretty remote island. I was playing on a beach with my younger cousin. She was playing with this huge homemade kite, and it was very windy. We had to both hold it to keep it under control. I was a weird kid and had a compulsion; I tied the wire tightly to her wrist without her realising what I was doing, then let go. She was pulled off over the dunes and out to sea. I waited until I couldn't hear her screaming any more and started crying and ran home to my parents telling them she'd run off and I'd lost her. It wasn't difficult to pretend to be distraught over the next few weeks. Police searched the whole island for weeks and eventually concluded she had run off and drowned. To this day no-one suspects me, and I doubt you'll find anything in the news as this was a long time ago and was only reported in the local paper. I know I should feel remorse but I just feel empty when I think about it.

I paste my sentence in Google translate and listen to it if I think it sounds weird.

A big one could on a very windy day.

But it would take a lot of kite and wind and a very small child.

      Short answer, extremely unlikely.

You seem to have knowledge of what the scientific method is, so I'm just gonna guess that equating those two groups of people (instead of saying that the latter was just a subset of the former) was just sloppy communication.

I've been staring at this page for half an hour trying to think of some adequate response, but I can't. My reaction is mostly just like 'what...' and I don't know whether to feel flattered that you did one of me, or embarrassed because it was making fun of me. (Also worried this whole thing is a ploy to get me to laugh at myself for what I said and not worry anymore and confess stuff, which Link really can trace the source of. If nothing else, maybe the time-stamp on the confession could be compared with records of the users' times spent in this thread...)

I reckon if you had a small chunk of text, you could in theory use statistical methods (picking up on patterns in grammar, vocabulary, etcetera) to give a strong pointer towards the member who posted it.

(Also worried this whole thing is a ploy to get me to laugh at myself for what I said and not worry anymore and confess stuff, which Link really can trace the source of. I think you need not worry about Link tracking your IP. His resources are typical of most college students and your IP would net him little more than your general region and ISP.

Besides, staff can already see your IP.

I was mostly joking about the worrying. Really didn't mean for this to turn into a big deal.

I was thinking that too, so when I did do the confessions I did, I tried to use wording that I'd never really use.
