I have just awaken from probably the strangest dream I have had in a while. I believe I just had a non-lucid dream that was entirely about lucid dreaming. |

"The Lord's Prayer is 66 words, the Gettysburg Address is 286 words, and there are 1,322 words in the Declaration of Independence. Yet, government regulations on the sale of cabbage total 26,911 words."
—David McIntosh
There is such thing as being semi-lucid, or having a low-level lucid dream. In these, one is usually rather lethargic and passive about the fact that they're asleep, and they don't realize the full extent of this. It's really up to you to decide if you were aware, or just acting like you knew you were dreaming. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

That happens to me all the time. I realize I'm dreaming but I still feel like I'm just "along for the ride." |

The most resilient parasite is an idea planted in the unconscious mind.
UPDATE: This morning I continued using WBTB/MILD, and I believe I may have witnessed myself enter straight into a dream. However, I mistook it for an extremely vivid visualization and never took the time to reality check, so I eventually got swept into the dream unaware. |

your should also learn about the different layers of dreaming. I think think what you were having was a layer 2 lucid dream where you gain the sense that you are dreaming but you are still ingulfed in the dreams narrative. the difference between a fake lucid and a semi lucid dream is the fact that you actually FEEL like you are in a dream but you don't have full consciousness. so if it was a semi lucid you were having, then you would have a feeling of consciousness but if it were a fake lucid, you would know as soon as you woke up that you was completely unaware while dreaming about being lucid. there are 5 different layers ranging from 0 to 4. layer 2 is where people have semi lucid dreams. |

They suck don't they. I think I had one yesterday, knew it was a dream but didn't do anything :\ |

Spoiler for Secret to LDing:
I had the same thing. I RC a lot and praised myself after five minutes for lasting five minutes , but I didn't feel lucid, I didn't even feel like I was that person(which was me) that was having a LD!! So what was that? a LD or not? I doubt it was, just a very convincing dream about LDing, or are all or lucid dreams only very convincing dreams about Lding? I'm worried |
