The Singing Contest

So I'm at my parents' house. I'm upstairs and I have a tape recorder. My mom walks by me and asks what I'm doing. She always wants to know what I'm doing. I tell her that on the radio there's a contest for knowing all the lyrics to the All American Rejects album Move Along. I told her I was going to sing all the lyrics into the tape recorder and mail it in. So I go to my room and start trying to operate the tape recorder... big surprise, it doesn't work. So I figure, who uses tapes anyway? I go to my computer and open up some music editing software. All of a sudden I have two friends in the room with me. On the screen I can see waves representing the music but now I'm playing Kenna's Sun Red Sky Blue and it's instrumental. I'm singing the lyrics for the first few lines and I stop recording so I can see what it's like when I play it back. I decide I sound horrible. So I say I'm going to try like five more times and then really belt it out.

I wish I could have stayed asleep so I could see how that turned out, but I had a bad night's sleep and kept waking up.
