2017, 06-06

Night Swim

I am at the swimming pool at the local YMCA with my friend Alicia. We are outside the main pool area, waiting to get in. Alicia pays her admission fee and goes in. I go to pay and I give the guy in the office the usual $1.50. He says it’s $1.75 now. I do a double take, but then I decide that’s not really that much of an increase, and I hand over the extra quarter. I follow Alicia into the pool area. There are people in our usual spot so we go to the other side of the pool where there’s an area I didn’t know about, with some of the plastic chaise lounges. I go to get one, glad they have the hard ones that don’t stick to my skin. Alicia prefers the soft ones and goes to find one.

When I get mine back to our spot I see Alicia already has what she wanted. Alicia wants to go get in the pool but it’s not open just yet, it’s being cleaned. I see someone has a bunch of Pokémon cards laid out to trade, so I take some Pokémon cards of my own from my bag and spread them out. The other guy has a lot of cards I wish I had. The pool opens and he ignores the cards to go jump in the pool. We haven’t been in the pool for long when the lifeguards say it needs cleaning again, everyone out. The guy who’d left his Pokémon cards spread out gets frustrated and leaves without coming back for his cards. I go over and start collecting all of the cards, both his and mine. I figure if he comes back I’ll say I collected them to keep them safe and return them. If he doesn’t come back, they’re all mine.

The pool is still closed, and Alicia is nowhere to be seen. So I leave the pool carrying a bag that contains my towel, sunscreen, and the two stacks of Pokémon cards I now have. I look around the rest of the YMCA for a bit, trying to find Alicia. There is no actual gym, just a lot of people climbing tall rock walls. I don’t notice that as strange and I don’t find Alicia. I go back to the pool area and look through the fence. Alicia is still in there, I feel dumb for not finding her sooner. I go to return to the pool but the man at the office window says I have to pay. That’s annoying since I already paid. He says I left, so I have to pay again. I take out my wallet and he says admission is $10. No way! I refuse to pay that. I go around the other side of the pool area and find a way through the fence, so I sneak back in for free.

I notice it is getting dark and the underwater pool lights come on. Alicia is swimming and the water where she moves glows, looking very cool. I put my things down and I get in the pool. I start doing all kinds of underwater dance moves. After I do a move I can look and see a light reflection of myself doing the move I just finished. The strange glow has the effect of making my rather unimpressive dance moves look really cool. Alicia is doing the same thing. But I notice I can’t seem to hold my breath for very long. It’s as if I am compelled to take a breath while still underwater. This seems disturbing to me, but I go along with it and I don’t go under for very long. I am still playing in the pool with my light reflections when everything fades and I wake up.

2017, 06-05

Healer in the Night

I am walking outside at night in a place I don’t recognize. I look around and see I am on a path near some trees. Something about the whole situation feels strange, and that leads me to do a reality check. I pinch my nose and find I can still breathe, so I know I’m dreaming. The first thing I do is try to fly and I succeed. I fly up over the land that is mostly dark except for what the moon illuminates. I also see the occasional light down below that looks like it comes from a fire. It is a bit chilly, but I ignore that. I keep flying and I feel like I could fly forever. I soon spot a structure that the moonlight reveals to be a castle. That looks like an interesting place to check out, so I fly straight towards it. I briefly think I might freak some people out if I show up flying, but I don’t really care so I keep going.

I fly in over the castle and then fly lower. I look down and there aren’t many people out because it is the middle of the night, but I do see some guards on patrol. None of them are bothering to look up, however. Then I am inexplicably drawn to one of the towers. I go with the flow and fly over near the tower. There is a window near the top that stands open. I fly to the window and I feel compelled to go inside. I silently land inside a bed chamber where I wait for my eyes to adjust to the dim light from a couple oil lamps. There is a boy in the bed apparently asleep. But somehow I know he is not asleep, he is unconscious, maybe in a coma, due to injuries. Injuries that the people in this realm may have no way to heal. I know I must heal the child. I take a quiet step towards the bed, but I stop when I find I’m being growled at. There is a large dog or a small wolf standing protectively over the child. I speak to the animal in a calming voice, using telepathy to try to convey the idea I am here only to help, I bring only healing. After a bit the animal calms down and just watches me as I approach the child.

I focus healing energy on the boy lying in the bed, focusing on the song Voices from the Macross Plus soundtrack for the healing task. Light energy forms all around the boy and then flows into him as the song plays softly in the room. It is a bit disconcerting when I hear strange cracking noises from under the covers, sounds that sound disturbingly like bones breaking… or setting properly perhaps so they can fully heal. I am thankful that the unconscious boy isn’t awake to feel any pain. As I am finishing up a man enters the room and does a double take. He demands to know who I am, and I realize he was supposed to guard the child. I tell him I’m a healer, and the child should awaken soon. And he is lucky that the boy’s dog is more on guard than he is. He says that is no dog, it is a direwolf. I say then the boy’s direwolf is a better protector. I figure if it is a direwolf then it must be still a cub. The guard again demands to know who I am, and I see the boy in the bed stir slightly. He is waking up. The direwolf cub goes over and starts licking the boy’s face. Everything fades to black as I wake up.

2017, 06-04

The Dark Mirror

I am in a place I don’t recognize. It is a cave of some kind. I hear the sound of the ocean from one direction so I follow that sound. There is light getting into the cave from various places where cracks have penetrated through to the outside. I follow the sound of the ocean and emerge on a ledge that is high up over the ocean below. And I’m not alone there. MoSh is there with me. He says we have to find the mirror. At first that doesn’t make any sense, but then I remember something about a mirror in someone’s inner world that was allowing Templars to attack. I pinch my nose and I find I can still breathe, I’m dreaming. I tell MoSh that he’s dreaming and he says he already knows that. We search around on the ledge and connecting caves until we find a place where there is an outcropping of rock reaching over the sea. On the outcropping is what appears to be a mirror, but the mirror is totally black with no reflection. MoSh says that’s it, and he wants to go kick some Templar ass. I go to the mirror and plant a couple timed explosives on it. We both go through, then the explosives detonate behind us and shatter the mirror, destroying the portal behind us.

On the other side of the mirror we are in another strange place. There are Templars all around, and it seems to be a wide-open area outside, I really don’t get a very good look at the surroundings because it’s dark and MoSh and I get attacked right away. MoSh tells them to leave Bjork alone, though at that point I couldn’t think who Bjork was. No matter, they shouldn’t be harassing anyone, so now they would all pay. As we are attacked I focus on using Battery by Metallica to call down bolts of lightning on the enemies. In spite of there being so many of them, the Templars seem to die pathetically easily. When they die they disappear from the dream. I focus on the song Damage, Inc. by Metallica and throw fireballs at many of the Templars. I then transform my right arm into an Alex Mercer blade and start cutting Templars down in large numbers as they attack. The Templars are attacking using an assortment of blasters and also melee weapons such as swords and battle axes, though none of the weapons seem particularly effective. I focus on the song Phantom Lord by Metallica and create an expanding wall of fire that incinerates many Templars. Soon it looks like any Templars left are retreating, and MoSh tells them they’d better not come back!

After the fight is over MoSh is saying we need to make sure the mirror is gone from Bjork’s inner world so they can’t use her any more. My mind still isn’t remembering who Bjork is, but I say that’s fine, I’ll try to get back to where we saw the mirror. I focus on Through the Never by Metallica and both MoSh and I go through the resultant portal. On the other side we are once again on the rocky outcropping that reaches out from tall cliffs over a deep blue ocean. It is a quite beautiful sight. There is a pile of rubble on the rocky outcropping where I know there used to be a mirror. I point to the rubble and tell MoSh that the mirror is history. Just to make sure I drop a fireball on the rubble and turn it all to ash. MoSh says he hopes that takes care of things. Everything fades to black as I wake up.

2017, 05-26

Dark Parasites

I am in a garden area that is very beautiful, more beautiful than any I have ever seen in waking life. I walk around, thinking how beautiful it is, but not giving any though to the idea I might be dreaming. I wonder how this place could have existed right near where I live for so long and yet I haven’t found it. I can tell it’s not new, all of the plants are too well developed to have been recently planted. I wander through the garden for a bit before I see three people not far off. I head in their direction. There seems to be a dark cloud around two of them, it looks pretty unpleasant. The two people surrounded by a dark cloud are MoSh and a woman I don’t know. The third person is Asuka, and Asuka comes over to me.

Asuka is upset and saying that Bjork is doing something to MoSh, and I have to stop her. I head over to the two people standing in a thickening cloud of darkness. It looks to me like both of them could use some help. I focus on the song Touch My Heart from the Devil Hunter Yohko soundtrack to remove the darkness. A pillar of light energy forms around both of them, sucking the dark cloud away and burning it off in the blinding light. After the song is over I see something strange on the ground between MoSh and Bjork. It is a black thing with many tentacles that is squirming around on the ground, first reaching for MoSh, then reaching for Bjork, as if it can’t choose which one it wants to try to attach itself to. I look at the thing and all I can sense in it is dark energy, not a sign of a spark, either dark or light. So it is a thing wholly of darkness. I focus on the song Battery by Metallica to call down a bolt of lightning that strikes the black thing between MoSh and Bjork and turns it to a pile of ashes that blows away in the wind and is gone. MoSh is looking at Bjork, who just looks disoriented. I focus on the song Voices from the Macross Plus soundtrack to bring some more healing energy into the area. The area fills with light energy. Bjork says she will try to stay out of MoSh’s dreams. Asuka looks quite pissed off at her and says she had better or there will be trouble! I wonder why Asuka is so angry, since it looked like the parasite had been attacking both MoSh and Bjork

2017, 05-19

Search for Asuka

I am in an amusement park with my mom and my brother John. We are waiting in line for a ride, it seems we have been waiting forever. We finally get up to be next and one of the cars pulls up to the platform. There are three seats there, perfect for the three of us. John gets on, then my mom, but when I was going to get on a bear comes from behind me, walking upright like a human, and takes my seat on the ride. My mom says I’ll just have to catch the next one. I’m annoyed that there is a bear taking my seat. The ride leaves and I walk away from it, passing two more bears who are next in line. I wander through the amusement park for a bit to find a ride I will go on by myself. I find a hall of mirrors and I decide to go in there.

As I am walking into the hall of mirrors I see a man waiting at the entrance for me. I immediately recognize the man as MoSh. He asks if I think she is somewhere inside this maze. I ask who. He says Asuka, of course. Isn’t that why we’re here? So we go into the hall of mirrors and start looking around. The first thing I notice is the mirrors don’t reflect either MoSh or me. But they reflect each other in an infinity of mirrors which is quite disoriented. It’s hard to see where the paths are, so we make our way through it like blind people, groping our way with our hands. After making our way through the hall of mirrors for a while we find an exit. The exit leads to a large garden, a beautiful garden. There are many colorful flowers and green bushes and I hear water flowing somewhere nearby. I look around and MoSh wanders off a bit, then he says he sees her. I look in the direction MoSh is looking and I see a Japanese woman in a kimono. It’s Asuka.

MoSh and I head over to see Asuka, there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with her. But as we are passing a hedge the thing attacks us! I see MoSh has a sword and he cuts the vines reaching for us. I use an Alex Mercer blade arm to cut more vines reaching for me. After a bit of pruning we get to where Asuka is. MoSh asks her where she’s been, she says she’s been here in the garden. MoSh says this isn’t her garden, though. Asuka seems disoriented as if she was on drugs or something. I look at some flowers that Asuka had been tending and getting too close to them makes me feel a bit light headed. Those must be there to keep Asuka drugged so she doesn’t try to leave. I tell Asuka she’ll feel better once she’s back in her own garden. She looks puzzled, but says ok. I focus on Through the Never and on getting to MoSh’s inner world. The portal opens and all three of us go through. Asuka says she feels sleepy and would like to rest. I figure the drug needs to wear off. MoSh takes her to a bedroom to rest, everything around me fades and I wake up.

2017, 05-19

Fish Volcano

I am out with my friend Alicia and we are at a mall. We are walking around and shopping as we usually do at a mall. Alicia wants to go see the pets in the pet store so we go there and go in. We look around for a while, there are puppies up for adoption from a local shelter and hamsters and guinea pigs… and fish. For some reason I am drawn to the fish. I see one real pretty fish that is in a small bowl. I look at the fish and think that would be a cool fish to have. A pet store employee says this is a different form of beta fish, and doesn’t need a lot of room to swim but does need to be able to get to the surface because it partly breathes the air. I look at the fish and bowl price for the package and it’s almost $50 just for a small bowl, some rocks to put in the bottom, a fake plant, some food, and the fish. That seems like a lot, but as Alicia points out, I have a job so I buy it.

I go out to the car and it was Alicia who drove to the mall so I get in the passenger seat. We drive towards her place, but somewhere along the way Alicia turned into my grandmother and we started heading to my place. I didn’t notice the change. We are turning off of the freeway onto the street that leads to my house when I see there is lava pouring down the street. The volcano is erupting! I tell my grandmother that there’s no way we’ll get past to the house, we have to turn back. We turn around and go a short ways before the tires of the car melt and we have to get out and run. My grandmother is doing quite well at running… I am trying to flag down a ride, but no one will stop. We barely make it to a place where there is a trench cut in the ground with a metal grid bridge over it meant to let people cross but lava will flow through the holes and into the trench. My grandmother and I get across before they close it off, so we’re safe. I look at what I’m carrying and see I brought my fish with me, the fish is just swimming in the small bowl, oblivious to everything. I am thinking I should call home to make sure my mom is ok but I wake up.

Eye of the Tiger

I am in my bedroom at home. I am sitting on the bed, and I get up to walk out to the other room. My mom is out there petting a cat… a BIG cat. She isn’t petting a house cat, she is petting a full grown tiger! I am about to ask her what is going on when there is a commotion outside. My mom looks out the window and then tells me I need to hide the cats before they are taken away from us. Hide the cats? She says they never check bedrooms or bathrooms, so I should hide them there. But don’t crowd them too much or they’ll fight! Still confused, I lead the tiger my mom has been petting into my bathroom. It’s small, but the tiger sees the bath tub as a box and lies down in it like house cats will do in a sink. I shut the bathroom door and see another tiger coming from my mom’s room. I lead that tiger to my bedroom and shut the door. The tiger is on my bed… so much for my waterbed mattress. I leave the bedroom and find another tiger. I think to put the cat in my game room but my house cats are in there. The front door is opening so I can’t take time, I duck with the tiger into the bathroom. The other tiger is sleeping in the bath tub, and the one I just brought wants attention. It is rubbing its head on me and purring so loud that it wakes me up… it was Princess purring in my ear!

Blacklist Escape

I am in an amusement park of some kind. It looks a little familiar, but I can’t quite place it. I look around and I spot Raymond Reddington (Red) from the television series Blacklist as he is passing near a roller coaster. He is moving quickly, clearly he has somewhere he needs to be. I see there are men in black suits following him from behind and I figure he is trying to lose them. I see there are more men in black suits positioned up ahead, ready to intercept Red. What seems odd to me is that Red doesn’t seem to have noticed the men up ahead of him, he is too focused behind him. If he keeps moving the direction he is heading he will walk right into the men waiting up in front of him. I decide to try to keep that from happening, I intercept Red right near the roller coaster boarding platform. I get near Red and try to tell him that the people following him from behind have also gotten in front of him. He gives me a suspicious look and then more carefully scans the area, this time spotting the men up ahead.

The two groups of pursuers are closing in around the roller coaster and not leaving room for escape. The attendant running the roller coaster is telling Red and me to get on the roller coaster or get out of the loading area, I see there is a train waiting. With nowhere else to go, Red and I both get on the roller coaster. We ride the roller coaster together, and while we are on the ride, the men below can only watch. Red wants to know who I am and what I know about the people following him, I just tell him my name, Raven Knight, and that it will be easier to discuss things after we’re somewhere safe. The train stops briefly before the platform to wait for the platform to clear, then slowly advances in. I spot a red maintenance door a bit too late to get to it. The train pulls up to the deboarding platform, but Red and I just stay put. The train moves to the boarding platform, but none of the attendants seem to be paying attention as the people in line for our seats drop some nasty expletives as the train pulls out and we are still on it. On our second ride around I point out the door to Red and we both get off and disappear through the door, while some trees and structures are hiding us from the men who were following Red.

Now Red and I are in the maintenance halls for the roller coaster and there are also passages to get to the other rides through underground corridors. Red looks at a map on the wall to help employees find their way and says his people should be waiting at one specific exit, that’s where he was going before those thugs cut him off. He says I should come along, too. So then we follow a series of passages, Red seems to know his way quite well for having seen the map only once. I follow along with Red for a while but then I feel I am waking up. I manage to tell Red he’s on his own now before I wake up.

2017, 05-15

A Real Gamble

I am in a casino that I recognize as having been here before. (I have actually dreamed about this same casino many times in the past.) I walk through the halls, as there are numerous rooms all filled with various slot machines and other gaming equipment. I know exactly where I need to go. I reach into my pocket and find I have several dollars in dimes, which is exactly what I need. I go to a specific slot machine that takes dimes and plunk a dime in. I pull the arm and the images spin and then stop, about five dimes fall into the winnings tray. I decide I will use up all the dimes I had in my pocket and then whatever is in the winnings tray is what I’ll leave with. So I plunk another dime in, I get nothing. I plunk another dime and get quite a few dimes into the winnings tray this time. After about 8 dimes I hit a jackpot and the winnings tray fills up with dimes. They may only be dimes, but I’m sure there must be a good amount of cash in there. I keep going until I run out of the dimes from my pocket and I don’t win any more. I look around and find a bucket that is meant to hold coins from winnings or for further playing and I put all of the dimes into the bucket. Now I want to leave and go home so I can count my winnings. But I also kind of want to do a little more since I have been lucky so far… I walk towards the exit, reminding myself I won’t stay a winner forever if I don’t quit while I’m ahead. I am almost to the exit when a security guard stops me. I think he will question my winnings, but he is saying I have to leave the bucket. I am trying to put all the dimes in my pants pockets when I wake.

Realm of Dragons

I am in a place I don't recognize. It is someone's house, someone I know and am friends with, but my mind is fuzzy and I can't think clearly. I enter into a living room with a big flat screen television. There is a woman sitting on the couch with a man. She has her arm around the man. The names that come to mind are MoSh for the man and Asuka for the woman. I am thinking Data from Star Trek should also be here somewhere. I ask MoSh and Asuka where Data is. MoSh says he'll help me look. Asuka says there are fresh cookies in the kitchen, I should help myself. I go into the kitchen and I see a plate full of large cookies on the counter. I take a cookie and start looking for Data. MoSh comes with me. He says he knows where Data might be, so as he leaves the room I follow MoSh.

I follow MoSh out of the kitchen as I eat my cookie. It is a delicious and fresh and warm cookie. It must have been made recently. MoSh leads me down a long hallway to some stairs at the end that lead up. We go up the stairs and into what looks like a control room out of a Star Trek space ship. Data is in the room at the far side, working on one of the control consoles. I go over to Data and ask where he's been recently. He says he has been here most of the time, maintaining the defense systems. MoSh looks at some of the controls and says this place keeps getting invaded by that night stalker. Data says he's adapting the defenses to keep that guy out while still allowing for friends like me to pass through. He says that's harder than one might think.

MoSh and I go over to Data. MoSh asks where the dragons are, the ones we brought back from the other dimension. Data types a few things and brings up a picture on a monitor of a tall mountain that has a cave near the top. He says the dragons are in there and points at the cave. I say if the dragons have been there the whole time, why haven't they responded to the recent attacks? Shouldn't that night stalker be getting greeted upon entry by two annoyed dragons? Data pauses as if thinking and then types a few more things and brings a map up on the monitor. There is a map of the area around this house and then a separate area with the mountain and the dragons. I ask how the dragons are supposed to see and respond to an attack from a separate area? Data doesn't answer for a bit and then says that's not how it's supposed to be... he'll have to fix that. He goes back to work on the console.

MoSh goes back down stairs to a door that leads outside. We are behind the house, in a beautiful garden. I am looking at all of the flowers and the stream flowing through the garden. MoSh looks off into the distance where there's something strange happening. The area is looking like a scene in an Assassin's Creed game where a new area is being constructed and made ready for exploration. MoSh and I watch that for a while and I see that the scene forming is the one of the tall mountain with the cave near the top. It's the dragons' mountain that I saw on the monitor. Finally the formation phase is complete and it now looks like the mountain has always been there.

2017, 05-10

Party Time

I am on a normal looking neighborhood street, on a cul-de-sac. There are homes around the cul-de-sac, and one home in particular has a lot of lights on inside. I hear music coming from the house and I am thinking there is definitely a party going on inside. I wonder if I could crash… I walk towards the house and find the front door is open. There is an Asian woman inside and she smiles when she sees me, inviting me inside. I go inside the house and I see a lot of people at the party. The woman says this is a dream, she is Asuka, and MoSh is inside. I am about to do a reality check when I recognize the song playing as Army of Me by Bjork. I look around the room and see Bjork herself is in the room singing. I am wondering how MoSh managed to get Bjork to perform at his house party. I start looking through the house to see if I can find MoSh. There are so many people I am having problems finding MoSh. I run into one man who is smoking a joint and offers me a drag. I tell him I just want to find MoSh. He says MoSh is in the bedroom, but don’t worry, there’s no sleeping going on in there. I am thinking anything MoSh might be doing in the bedroom should remain private… As if the man reads my mind, he adds that MoSh is in there hanging out, not making out. I think I will go in there and say hi to MoSh. I head in the direction the man pointed, though I can’t see any sign of a bedroom or even of a wall. I find I’m going up a flight of stairs to get to another room full of people partying. I look around and spot MoSh on a couch. I head towards him but I don’t quite make it, my alarm goes off and I wake up.

2017, 05-08

Dark Mirror

I am in a place I don’t recognize. I look around to see if I can figure out where I am. After walking for a while I realize it looks somewhat familiar, but at the same time not familiar. It looks like a creepy dark version of a place I have been before. There are run down houses positioned around a cul-de-sac, and the people walking on the sidewalks look distinctly like orcs. I find that strange because the neighborhood looks completely normal for this world aside from the fact it looks like it has been abandoned and now is falling to ruin. I start walking along the road, not sure where to go or what to do in this strange place. The orcs wandering around don’t seem to be paying any attention to me so I pay no attention to them. Then I see a man approaching me, definitely not an orc. Maybe he knows what is going on here. I go over to him and ask him where we are. He says it’s supposed to be his inner world, but it looks like someone has made a mess here again. At first that statement makes no more sense than this place does, but finally I put it together and I realize I’m talking to MoSh, but this sure doesn’t look like his inner world…

MoSh says we have to find Asuka, so I agree to help him look for her. We go through a rundown looking house that I think is most likely haunted and we come to what looks like it used to be a beautiful garden, but now everything in it is dead. I look at the dead and brown plants and wonder what could have happened here to make them all die. I then realize there is a woman in the garden, but she is down on her knees next to something. I wonder what it is that she is looking at so I go over to see her. It is Asuka, and she is kneeling beside what appears to be the only plant in this whole garden that is still alive. There is a small and somewhat sickly looking plant growing there with a single beautiful flower blooming brightly. I ask what is going on here, and she says she has to save this flower. Everything else is dead, so she has to save this flower. MoSh comes over and seems glad to see Asuka appears to be ok, and he says it’s time to go home. I ask Asuka what has happened to MoSh’s inner world. She looks around and says this isn’t MoSh’s inner world, it’s a mere shadow of MoSh’s inner world. She also repeats that she has to save the flower. MoSh takes her by the hand and tries to lead her away. She keeps saying she has to save the flower and reaching back for it. I tell her I’ll get the flower. I form an energy sphere around the flower, the plant, and a chunk of soil it is growing in and bring that along as I follow MoSh and Asuka.

As we are making our way out of the strange garden I see someone who wasn’t there when we went in. There is a man standing on and blocking the path to leave the garden. He looks like a walking corpse, and I get a whiff of a foul odor coming from him. He is rotting and decaying. Asuka says he is the bringer of death, every plant he touches dies and decays. She seems worried that he will get too close to the flower and kill it somehow. The zombie approaches us and MoSh ask him who he is and what he wants. He laughs and says MoSh already knows, but he sees a new friend… he might just have to drop in and visit me sometime. I can’t help but laugh when I think of him trying to drop into my inner world and running into my shield like a solid titanium wall, or meeting Vegeta to blast him back where he came from, or the psycho twins Mary and Marty with more weapons aimed at him than he could register sight of before he got vaporized. I tell him if he wants to be erased from existence he is free to try. MoSh says this guy should be erased right now so he can’t bother Asuka or Björk any longer. That makes me think of the song by Björk that comes to mind first, so I add that if he tries to get in he might just end up meeting an army of me. As I say that I form my right arm into an Alex Mercer blade. He doesn’t seem particularly bothered but laughs and disappears.

MoSh, Asuka, and I go into the house that appears to be a run-down version of MoSh’s house in his inner world. I wonder if I should do something to fix the place up since Asuka said it’s not really MoSh’s inner world. I am looking around the house when MoSh says the zombie man is out front now. I wonder what this guy wants and I head to the front of the house to find him. I look out front and I see the zombie man out there. I think I should go out there and teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget even if his brain is rotting. I go out the front door but now he is gone, as is the whole neighborhood. I look around and now I am in a green meadow with no sign of the rundown house and neighborhood, no sign of MoSh or Asuka, no sign of the zombie. I look and see I still have Asuka’s flower in an energy orb, so that’s good… I am thinking of trying to get back to Asuka and MoSh but I wake up.

2017, 05-07

Déjà Vu

I am in a place that looks rather familiar, but where I would have expected there to be someone there all I see now looks to be abandoned and is falling apart. It also looks like a level in Minecraft, and I am annoyed, thinking I just helped build this place and now someone comes in here and makes a mess of it? I look around to see who is here and what they might have done to this place. I don’t see anyone here at all, and that seems odd, too. I am thinking there should be some people here and I wonder where they are. I think I’d better get to putting this place back together. I start playing Minecraft as I feel I have done before and I start building things back up again. I think there is a certain way things are supposed to be, but I really can’t remember exactly how that is. I figure I will do the best I can and then if I do it wrong it will be easy to fix. I keep playing Minecraft for a while, constantly looking to find both whoever did this and the people I had expected to find. But it would seem I am playing a single player game tonight. After working on it for a while it looks like Grove Street from Grand Theft Auto, or that’s what I have been told it is, I haven’t actually played Grand Theft Auto.

Once the area is back to that state I start searching around more. I look into the houses to see if there is anyone in there, though I haven’t seen anyone while searching there. I am finding no one. I enter into a garden that looks like it was once beautiful but now it looks overgrown and abandoned. I take out the ocarina that is hanging from a cord around my neck and I start playing it. I play the song Voices from the soundtrack to Macross Plus. As I play the song I see the garden coming back to life, returning to its former beauty. I keep playing the song for a while, bringing the garden back and also thinking the song might draw someone out if there is anyone hidden away here. The flowers bloom, the trees grow back, there is a stream flowing through the garden with a bridge going over it. I walk through the garden for a while, playing the song. I hear birds singing in the trees, a gentle breeze is blowing through the bushes and flowers. I wonder why I found this place abandoned, I wonder where everyone went. It seems someone should be here… I am still wondering this as everything fades to black and I wake up.

Voices in the Night

I am lying in my own bed, completely unaware that I am dreaming. I am just lying there in the dark, but it feels like there is someone there with me in the dark. I stay still, I don’t really want to let whoever it is know that I am awake. I lie there for a bit longer and I think I am about to fall asleep when I hear a voice. It is a male voice speaking loud and clear, the voice also sounds like it might be mechanical or a recording, or maybe a digitally altered voice. It says the same thing three times in a row. “Go kill yourself. Go kill yourself. Go kill yourself.” I can also feel something in the room moving around in the darkness, I can’t really explain how, but I feel something there. And I become very angry at whoever or whatever is in the room with me. I respond to this anger by letting out a stream of expletives that is way beyond the words I am normally likely to use, focused mostly around the ‘F’ word. “F$@% off, you f$@%ers! F$@% you! Go f$@% yourself, you f$@%ing piece of f$@%! F$@% you and the f$@%ing horse you rode in on! Did your f$@%ing horse come up with this plan? It’s way too complicated for a f$@%ing idiot like you!” My cursing continued for a bit longer, repeating the part about telling them to go f$@% themselves. I can practically feel a presence of someone standing right beside my bed and moving around me, but then I wake up and all is normal.

2017, 05-02

Dream Job

I am in an office building waiting for an interview for a new job. I remember that I am here looking for a job in town so I won’t have the hour and a half commute each way to get to work any more. I am afraid I will have to take a cut in pay, but the extra time I’ll have and the gas I’ll save will make it well worth my while. I have the idea I am here interviewing for a data entry job, which should be sufficiently mind-numbing so I have enough mental energy to work on making video games when I get home from work. I sit in the waiting room for a bit and then a woman comes out and introduces herself as Amy Rhinds and leads me to her office, which is a very nice office. I wonder if she is the CEO to have this office. I sit in one of the chairs beside her desk as she sits in her desk and smiles. As she is about to start the interview the office door opens and a man comes in. He sits in one of the chairs, but Amy doesn’t respond. I figure he must be sitting in on the interview for some reason.

The interview begins and Amy is asking typical questions I would expect, how fast I type, what software experience do I have, do I have experience with databases… I answer each one to the best of my ability. Then the man gets up from the chair and walks over to me. He says something about dreams. My first thought is that he is saying I must be dreaming if I think I will get this job. But I really want it, and since Amy isn’t paying any notice to him, I decide not to, either. She asks me a couple more questions, and I try to answer them without being distracted. The man, now next to me, is still talking about dreams. I tell him my real dream will come true after I get the job. Amy just looks confused and asks who I am talking to. She can’t see the man at all? I think I have just messed up my chances at the job. The man is still talking about dreams, but now I’m mad. He says to check if I don’t believe him. Amy brings the interview to a close and says she will get in touch with me if I’m chosen for the job. I leave, feeling really down. I already know I won’t get the job. It’s back to my hour and a half commute. Fun. I am about to leave the office building when I wake up.
