    1. Day 108 & 109: Hey, Me.

by , 05-30-2018 at 06:33 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 7:00 AM

      Dream 92: Reflections

In the car with my brother, daytime. We're driving down the highway. My brother next to me is holding the phone camera to my face, and I'm trying to get it off of me.

I managed to steal a glimpse of myself in the mirror. It was oddly clear and high res. I think it looked a little more attractive than I do in WL (Heck, I felt like Dreamy Luigi from M&L: Dream Team. No real difference except I looked better).

      Dream 93: Ham and Anger

In the kitchen with my sister and her boyfriend, morning. They had just made me food (Migas with ham on the side). I was also watching Hulu on the Switch and I had my headphones on (The ones I lost a couple days ago).

My cousin (Let's call him Quiet J, because why not) walks in and, being as standoffish as he is, says something to me while failing to acknowledge I was wearing headphones. I remember it being some kind of insult but I didn't want to make him angry while he was there, so I let him get his food and go to my sister's room.

I ask my sister what he had said to me. She responded with something I don't quite remember. I then told her, annoyed, "I didn't ask how 'pretty' he thought I looked, I'm asking 'what did he say about me?''' That shut her up real quick and the dream ended shortly thereafter.
    2. Day 73: Dark Side of the Neighborhood

by , 04-24-2018 at 03:39 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 7:20 AM

Dream 77: Third Lucid This--Well, Not Year, But...

I can now firmly say that careful attention to memory, recall, and presence basically guarantees you a lucid dream. After a three week period of pure, unadulterated laziness, I finally re-implemented my awareness practices.

I got lucid in the area between my house and my neighbor's, where my sister lives. After looking around, I decided it was best if I visited my sister's apartment. Needless to say, it looked nothing like the real thing. It had an extended porch, the inside looked like it was three times the size of her apartment, and the layout was insanely obtuse.

Frisky business occurred, because of course it did, but I was also becoming more and more annoyed by the dream character within it. Unlike previous lucids, they were all too keen on remembering the things I did to them to get them out of my way. I ended up feeling really bad about the whole thing. My sister, then on the couch, was reprimanding me further. I tried employing some dream control shenanigans including but not limited to:

1: Snapping my fingers to make her disappear.

2: Shooting imaginary guns from my fingers.

3: Trying to turn her into an inverse-vortex/black hole.

I had ended up in this lounge-like hallway with pillows strewn about. My sister came up and reprimanded me for how I had treated her. "How the hell do you remember this?" I thought. DCs had never had this level of coherence before.

I was on the verge of tears after that confrontation. I found a door at the end of the hallway, and inside of it was a bald man wearing a brown suit, lime green tie, and glasses. I talked to him for a little bit and asked him how I could make it up to them (Even though I didn't, I just wanted the DCs to stop reprimanding me). He wrote something down on a notecard and gave it to me.

It was in Spanish, and I forgot what it was.

I decided I may as well be "nice" to these dream characters (Even if I thought it was a waste of my time). I told them I would make it up to them by getting them something from Stripes (A gas station). As I left, I told my brother that Nemo (My male puppy) was getting blood around his hind leg.

Oh yeah, throughout the dream Nemo was getting progressively bloodier. I felt bad for the little guy. Turns out the only DC that'll earn my pathos are my puppies. But I knew it was a dream, so no worries. It would honestly pain me to see him like that in real life...

It was dark outside, the absolute middle of the night. There was one kid walking in front of me on the sidewalk. I thought it would be funny to mess with him. I hunched forward, with my arms spread out, and trudged along as if I had a limp. I saw a family arguing about something to the left of me in the neighborhood.

At the end of the sidewalk lied a black and metal electronic gate. The kids were talking about "he" was getting closer. I panicked and entered the other side of the gate as quickly as I could. On the other side of the gate (And a short walk away) lied Stripes.

One problem: It was closed. The lights were completely turned off. Barren...quiet...I didn't like it one bit. Feeling defeated (And terrified) I went back from where I came from, taking an alternate path.

Dream 78: A Sort Of Continuation

My tía (Spanish for aunt, as she likes to be called) is talking to the rest of the family inside the apartment setting of the previous dream. Something about how her son (Who has sadly passed away, but that wasn't how it was in the dream) was getting into REM sleep because she saw him talk in his sleep.

My puppies were fighting really violently in the back. One of the women yelled at them to get them to quiet down.

Dream 79: Hick Kids In Cars

My brother and I are in the backseat of this run-down red truck. There's a bald kid sitting in the driver's seat. He has the most annoying southern snotty-hick-kid accent you could ever imagine, and his attitude was even worse. It was still dead of night, and he was telling us these urban legends about shotgun-wielding maniacs that lived in our neighborhood.

And what did he do? Drive by each and every single one of them just to get a reaction out of 'em.

This all comes to a head when he crashes into a junk pile situated in the middle of the neighborhood. The upper half of a poor, shirtless guy flies by my brother's window. I know he's mortified by this, but he tries to internalize the fellings he's experiencing. A sick part of me wonders how that guy lost the lower half of his body.

      Dream 80: Yuck.

I was standing in front of the mirror. One of my teeth was loose, and so I fiddled away at it to get it to come off. It was a sickly light brown color, and almost squishy. On the other side of my jaw was another loose tooth, so I wiggled it off and, again, it was brown and squishy.

I don't brush my teeth often IRL. While my teeth are nowhere bad as that shown in the dream, my family has complained about it. If even the inner parts of my mind are telling me to brush them, then I should really get to doing it more.

      Dream 81: DKC Returns

So, I had just bought DKC Returns not too long ago. It's a fun game, if a bit easier than the others, but one thing I really love doing is collecting all the Puzzle Pieces and KONG Letters. The dream I had is a natural side effect of what happens when I play a video game for too long.

I'm playing on the level called Poppin' Planks when I reach the pirate ship part of the level. There's this hidden puzzle piece underneath all of this junk. I use the Ground Slam attack to lodge it out of there, and then a cutscene plays.

DK and Diddy both pull out a HUGE chunk of earth, with the puzzle piece still on top of it. Suddenly Luigi shows up, with DK jokingly telling him, "Are you ready to fight for what's at stake?" Referring to the puzzle piece on top. Luigi is trying to balance himself on the large chunk of earth as DK and Diddy both mess with him in the process. They all disappear into the sunset, Luigi still dangling on the huge rock.

    3. Day 66 --> Day 72: Bleh--er--Blah

by , 04-22-2018 at 04:13 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Nothing much happened for the first three days (Day 66 to 68). Being suddenly woken up in the morning really screws with my recall.

      Day 69:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 72: Cut Finger

For some reason I can't quite explain, I reached for the knife and cut myself on my finger. It was a searing, burning pain. God, I hated it.

Dream 73: Falling Deeper Into Sleep

In my bedroom, nighttime. The lamp is on and the TV has been turned off. I hop right into bed after turning the lamp off. A maelstrom of random and incoherent thoughts swirled around me when I was near sleep, but I can't really remember any of it.

      Dream 74: Chameleo-guin

This one was a bit random.

So, a penguin is trying to avoid capture by four robots (One of which is a walking trash can). First he hid in a filing cabinet, with the trash can bot walking by him, and then he hid inside of a picture frame, disguising himself as a dove. Once the robots went past, he decamouflaged himself and hopped out of the picture frame. One of the robots finds him and sets off an alarm letting the others know he's there.

      Then the dream ended.

      Day 70:

      Nothing much to report.

      Day 71:

      Fell asleep at: 11:40 PM

      Woke up at: 9:00 AM

Dream 75: Yer Me Best Mates

The dream centered around me (A sort of omnipotent force in the dream) trying to save a pirate ship from a bundle of dynamite that was placed on the ship. I couldn't for the life of me find the explosive. And when I did, I discovered it wasn't a stick of dynamite after all, but a modern-day explosive, so splashing seawater onto it wasn't going to make it any better.

I then switched to first person POV. The rest of the pirate crew was solemnly watching the night sky, almost in horrid anticipation of when the bomb was going to explode. One of the pirates was even playing music on a guitar. It was oddly relaxing, but we knew the end was coming.

      Day 72:

      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:00 AM

Dream 76: Yet another failed RC

I'm pacing around the parking lot in front of the band hall, trying to do reality checks. I do the nose plug RC and breathe in some air from it, but ultimately disregard it. I do the finger through palm RC, but that didn't work at all.

I also remember stumbling into the locker room, but then immediately walking back out.

After all that I end up in my sister's car along with my brother. He talks to her about some award he got, and I immediately tune him out.

    4. Day 48 & 49: The Calm Before The Lucid

by , 04-04-2018 at 04:12 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Didn't recall anything on Day 48, except for some vague imagery. Fell sleep around 11:00 PM and woke up around 7:00 AM. Dream counter: 59.

Day 49 is when things start to pick up. I guess thanks to reading up on both Sageous's 'Lucid Dreaming Fundamentals' and FryingMan's 'Unified Theory of Lucid Dreaming', as well as Sensei's 'Thanks For All The Fish', Dolphin's 'Essentials to Having A Lucid Dream', and some ancient, long-forgotten DJs I found in the grandfathered DJ forum. Needless to say, this couldn't have been possible without them. So, thanks if any of you are reading this.

      Day 49:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

Woke up at: 3:00 AM and 6:30 AM

      Pre-WBTB

      Dream 58: Lucid Once More!

Riding with my family in the large SUV. From where we're going, I can recognize that we are going out of downtown and headed towards the high school, but we're going in the completely wrong direction from where we should be going. Usually we go towards the intersection on the way to school, and out of the neighborhood caught in between the school and downtown. Immediately, I get that "feeling" that Sensei elaborated on in his post, and I just went with it. No further questioning required.

I open the car door and gingerly step out. I think the car might've stopped on my way out. Everything was super vivid and really bright, too--something someone would associate with a bright summer day. I don't exactly take in the time to soak it in, I'm just so excited to have gotten this far.

I spot a girl by the side of a building, some stuff happens, and I then try to change up the dream environment. I woke up shortly after. Not because of a sudden "jolt" of excitement (If that were the case I would have woken up a whole lot earlier), but I think because I caught the LD near the end of a major REM period, that and I lost my train of thought sometime near the end of my lucidity.

I have a system set up where, whenever I get lost in my thoughts, I interrupt whatever's going on and either observe my surroundings or do an RC. It's a really efficient system, mostly because I tend to fantasize about things on a regular basis. This is basically the only way I RC now, when I'm not being observant/aware. I really regret not having this system down-pat, as I feel it could have helped me not to lose track of myself at the end of my LD.

I woke up subsequently after that LD. I walked around a little bit, pondered whether to write down the dream in my DJ, and just decided to use a mnemonic technique to remember it in the morning. I thought having a really bright phone screen in my face during the middle of the night would only keep me up.

      Post WBTB:

Dream 59: False Awakening and an LD in one night? Nice.

Pretty much what it says on the tin. I had a FA where, during the middle of the night, I got up to record my previous LD, alongside a dream I don't remember happening at any point.

      Dream 60: Tantalizing Trump Towers

I'm in this barren, empty room with pillars and a kitchen set in the back. Everything was colored pink, or a really faded red--one or the other. Then I lost my train of thought (Or, in the context of this dream journal, pulled into the Thinkspace). It was about Trump Tower, the one situated at New York City. Apparently, the design of the tower has this window that, if directly shone upon by the sun, would then blast concentrated solar energy upon Central Park, setting it ablaze. Pretty...interesting to say the least.

      Dream 61: Tower Defense-Os

Nothing much to this one. Just something about a tower defense game only with classes duking it out on top of a sea of milk and corn flakes.

      SIDE_NOTES:

      1. To make this less of a headache to read, I bolded the titles for each dream. I'm always for convenience (Maybe because I'm really lazy), so I hope this helps for people who want something easier to digest.

    5. Day 46 & 47: April Fools...

by , 04-01-2018 at 10:31 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Nothing much happened on Day 46. I fell asleep at midnight, and woke up around 9:00 o' clock. I do recall some dreamlets, so let's bump up that counter to 57.

      Day 47:

      Fell asleep at: 2:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:30 AM

Dream 58: The Ultimate April Fool's Trick

Happy April Fools, SubC, I hope you like it.

So, the dream starts out with me in a classroom. The lights are on, though I still have trouble seeing. I have an enormous sense of presence within the dream, what with it all taking place in the first person. I lose myself in my train of thought as I'm exiting the building--something about a detective and his status.

Once I do exit the building though, a little, teeny tiny thought comes into my head. "What is so dream-like about this? What shouldn't be here?" And so I look around.

To my right I see two busses on top of each other blocking the entrance, to my left I see a guy in a clown costume wrangling a half-rhino-half-antelope thing by its leash. The Rhinocerope is tugging really hard on the leash, and the clown can barely hold on.

For some reason, THAT doesn't trigger any lucidity. I then went over to the area in front of the band hall, and I see my dad talking to about two or three people. The dream ends soon after that.

      Side-notes:

      1. I had a very apathetic feeling throughout the entire dream. Though my sense of presence that I achieved is honestly unprecedented. I hope I can get that feeling going so I can achieve a proper DILD next time.

      2. I tried using MILD before I went to bed. Repeating the phrase, "I am present in my dreams" and (I believe) "My dreams are vivid" before going to sleep.

    6. Day 39 --> Day 44: A Change Of Attitude

by , 03-30-2018 at 05:32 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Yes it's been five days.

On days 39 to 42 I pretty much fell asleep at the same time (11:30 PM) and woke up at the same time (7:00 AM) so nothing much there. They were not very eventful honestly as I was really busy with homework and family issues I can't exactly discuss. Nevertheless, I have sought to change this.

About a few days ago, I read up on Fryingman's Unified Theory of Lucid Dreaming post and Twoshadows' Dream Journal before going to bed. I'm implementing Fryingman's awareness and reflectiveness principles in order to feel more 'present' in my dreams, thus leading to a higher chance for lucid dreams. And what do you know, that leads us to Day 43, the day I took back my starring role in my dreams. Because ironically, even in my wildest dreams, you still have to work for what you want.

      Day 43:

      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:20 AM

Dream 54: A Robot Named Chew & Crap, Forgot My Belt...

Mom's driving, I'm in the large black car. It looks like we're driving back from school, towards where the bridge over the canal seems to be. I'm watching something on my tablet, a cartoon very much in the style of Danny Phantom or Fairly Oddparents.

A humanoid, muscular man-like robot is spouting some menacing dialogue. His voice is deep, almost like a deeper take on Grim's voice in how he talks. In particular, he seems to be talking about his teeth, and the chomping power they possess. The little girl (Who he's apparently talking to) asks him if he can drink water or fluids. He reprimands her by saying, "Of course! That's what the pink tooth is for!"

In an attempt to gauge out my mom's reaction to any of this, I always have one eye focused on the screen, and one on my mom. Right after she hears the 'pink tooth' bit, she looks back with this sort of half-shocked, half-disgusted pace. I immediately get flustered by that and just focus my attention on the scenery.

My mom parks in a nondescript building near the canal, in the general area where an apartment complex should be. We get off and I notice something:

One: It's early morning, and kind of chilly, as well as humid.

And Two: I forgot my belt.

"Ah--dang it! I forgot my belt..." I rush back to the car, trying to hold up my pants, and tell my mom the news. I have the faintest feeling that she has gone back to the house before to pick something up earlier on, and right after that my mom tells me she'll get my belt.

As she's leaving she tells me to sit down in front of the building until she comes back. Looking below me, I see a wet puddle, and I briefly reconsider that notion. "It looked like it might've rained earlier in the morning." I thought to myself.

Then, out of the blue, I see my two puppies, Nemo and Kleo. They walk out of the building, jump around on my legs for a little bit, and go back inside, playing with an old woman (Who actually kinda reminds me of my grandma).

      Dream 55: More Random Nonsense

Some dream with a Terraria aesthetic. I don't remember much about it, honestly...

      Dream 56: Huddle 'Round...Me!

I'm in an orange-walled house. I'm sitting down in an awesome large wooden desk, using the laptop. My sister is crouching down next to me, and so is her boyfriend.

A whole lot of my family is there, actually. Though I can't recall any specifics.

      Day 44:

      Fell asleep at: 11:40 PM

      Woke up at: 7:10 AM

Dream 56: More like Google Instant Transmission...

I remember being with my brother a lot in this dream, even though we had a particularly intense argument that day, but that's not what I'm concerned about.

So, my and my brother are deciding where to go to on our trip. We pull up Google Maps on my phone and start selecting designations at random. I particularly remember going to some Middle Eastern "beach" area with one beautiful sunset.

    7. Day 37 & 38: Picking Up

by , 03-25-2018 at 05:57 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 37:

      Fell asleep at: 11:30 PM

      Woke up at: 7:10 AM

      Dream 45: Scarlet Red Dress

I'm touring the streets of some sort of rustic, European city; though it definitely reminded me of Spain more than anything. Walking the cobblestone streets, I find a beautiful girl coming out of some nondescript boutique. She had black, curly hair, slightly tannish skin, and was wearing a red dress.

As if straight out of a schmaltzy romance flick, I immediately pull her aside and start dancing. We were dancing for about 5 minutes straight, and I gotta admit, it was pretty fun (And, well, you know...). The dream then shifts to something I wish to forget.

      Dream 46: Monkey Business

My sister and I are, again, caught in another perilous driving situation. She's driving a really big truck, about the size of a schoolbus (and twice as wide), while driving on an incredibly narrow street.

Through this colonia, my sister finds a way to make things worse. There's a schoolbus right in front of us, but we were too late to stop ourselves from crashing into it. Instead of students, however, a flurry of chimps are pouring out of the bus. The noise they make is so shrill and so loud that it wakes me up entirely. Turns out it was the fire alarm that was making that horrible noise.

      Day 38:

      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 10:00 AM

Dream 47: Kev' In Da' Shop

Well this came outta nowhere. In some random coffee shop, I'm sitting in my table alongside a couple of unidentifiable DCs, when Kevin Hart walks in through the door. I don't question it, though, and I stare at him blankly.

He walks over to the magazine rack and starts talking. I think he's doing a skit, but I can't quite remember what he was talking about. He was walking around, cracking jokes, and just generally having a good time.

      Dream 48: Sun's Song

I'm in the living room, just minding my own business. My mom and dad are preparing to go to bed, so they both go into their room and leave me alone in the living room.

As I'm sitting on the couch, I notice something peculiar. The sun has already begun to rise. "That's weird." I say to myself. I go over to my room to ask my brother what time it was: 2 o' clock.

Immediately I rush outside, telling my brother to bring his phone. In the process of getting out of my house, the sun has risen and set in a matter of seconds.

Once I get there, I notice it is extremely windy. My brother brought my two puppies with him, too. They looked hilarious what with the wind blowing all the fur on their face to the side and them sticking their tongues out.

      Dream 49: Hotel Construction

A timelapse of a beachfront hotel plays out. For about 5 minutes, I see the entire construction progress. Oddly enough, it was all done in Minecraft.

The perspective then switches to a first-person POV, my POV. I'm talking to my dad about something I can't quite remember, but I remember feeling a little bit down after that conversation. The sun was setting, and so I decided to walk into the hotel myself.

Inside, I spot my brother and my mom, and I also decide to chat with them. It wasn't exactly uplifting either, and I only wound up feeling a bit more melancholic after it.

      Dream 50: Hot Demon Girl

Playing Doom 2016 when a cutscene pops up. There's this attractive looking lady, about in her 20s, in this gray and dusty hallway. She is slowly making her way towards me, and progressively getting more demon-like as she does so.

I pay particularly close attention to her eyes, a muted gray color, yet representative of her beauty and humanity. Even as she gets more, frankly, disgusting, her eyes remain quite nice. The dream ends with her transformation into a full-blown demon.
    8. Day 34 & 1/2: ""Midday"" Nap

by , 03-21-2018 at 05:04 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 34 & 1/2:

      Fell asleep at: 7:50 PM

      Woke up at: 10:30 PM

I tried to induce a WILD as I was falling asleep, but then I got too excited and ended up postponing my sleep ten minutes ahead. I decided it was better to just leave it up to a couple mantras before I went to sleep. And, prepare yourself, this entry is going to go real dark real quick.

      Dream 40: Wonder Science

Me and my family were coming back from HEB when we see a large van with about a thousand large cables running out of it. A large scientist-type figure (Who just vaguely resembled my old Chemistry sub) comes riding on his bicycle, which I can only assume gives power to some of his instruments inside the van.

He gives us a lecture about the power of following your dreams, how he's currently doing, and tells us to do the same. He calls his particular brand of science "wonder science", in reference to how he researches and tests things that he is passionate/wondrous about. He hands us all business cards and then the dream ended.

Dream 41: This is where it gets dark.

Again, my increased daytime awareness has almost completely transferred into my dreams. It really feels like I'm there and that I at least have partial control over my surroundings. My vision is also no longer as blurry, a tell-tale sign of awareness.

So, I'm in my sister's room, just talking to her about...Well, I can't quite remember. I even notice that my elbow is very pink-ish, and I joke about myself being a half-gum-half-man hybrid. In any case, I come to realize one of the pillows has three blood stains on it. I ask my sister about it, and when she turns around, I knew exactly what was going on.

She had three cut marks on the underside of her arm. She told me something about how, specifically, she does this, and I immediately tune her out. I don't need 'that' in my life, I'm gonna go see if someone can help. I go out the door in a terrified stupor, and then the dream ended.

      Dream 42: Miscellaneous Nonsense

A bunch of random, interconnected chaos. One scene has me (Along with two other friends of mine) descending a large well. I pull out an HUD similar to most video game creation tools and build platforms below me as I go down the long, winding well.

In the bottom of the well lies a magma dome. A large, circular platform made of solidified magma surrounded by a lake of lava. For some reason, the temperature doesn't kill me within 20 seconds of being exposed. I have to connect three 'keys' into this large black obelisk before the lava rises. I do just that, plugging in three stone keys into their designated slots.

I am then booted into a dark hotel room. I see silhouettes, but I can't quite make out who it is exactly. I'm guessing a man, about adult age, just sitting around in his chair.
    9. Day 26 --> Day 31: One Heck of a Backlog

by , 03-17-2018 at 11:45 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Nine whole months since I joined this forum and I'm still a terrible procrastinator. Now you see why my User Title is the "Master Procrastinator?" So, to all future dream journal bingers out there, PLEASE don't miss more than three days of consecutive dream journalling. It really does do a number on your recall and motivation in general.

      Day 26:

      Fell asleep at: 2:30 AM

      Woke up at: 9:15 AM

      Dream 26: Pizza House Party

Going over to the counter (Which has been removed in real life but not in the dream), I pick up four slices of pizza. They have a store-bought cardboard tray, but the pizza itself is restaurant-tier. I go back to the couch along with my dad, and it seems like the couches and coffee table are arranged correctly. I didn't make the connection between the two (The counter being in the wrong place but the furniture in the correct order), which no doubt would've made a solid LD.

I'm not quite satisfied yet. I decide to go get some of the last pizza before everybody else does. Now there's even more pizza on the counter. Everybody else goes to get some more pizza, and I end up only getting about two slices. I think to myself, "Well, I already ate four slices, so..." and just accept it.

I briefly chow down on my second helping. I go over to throw my plate away when I bump into a little white machine with a GPS monitor on it, which is situated in front of my mom's room. My dad tells me to be careful. Guy's got foot problems, and I figured whatever it was, he didn't want me touching. I walk away from it so that I wouldn't be held responsible for it.

      Day 27:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 8:00 AM

Dream 27: Jostled by the Mob

Exiting out of the hallways, I make my way into a little outdoor area within my school. An influx of students exit from all sides, all 600+ of them. All of us are headed straight for the staircase outside of the band hall.

Once we get there, I begin to get jostled by a whole bunch of M's friends. I even see the girl who looks an awful lot like my friend's sister, who's the only face I can remember. We all sit down on the stairs that somehow stretch all the way across the building. Some guy is singing an overly emotional song about...something I can't quite remember.

He starts picking out people from the audience to sing along, meanwhile I bust out a calculator that can somehow run GBA-era Pokemon games. Nice. The guy next to me sees what I'm doing, and motions the singer to point at me. He then stares at me playing Pokemon on my calculator and stares at it instead. He then pulls out a calculator and I begin to tink he wants to know how I got it done. Jokes on him, I ain't telling.

      Day 28:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 11:00 AM

      Dream 28: Uh...Pups?

A short one. I dreamt that Nemo and Cleo took the forms of two overly large bugs, both yellow in color. I still tried to put them in their cage though.

      Dream 29: HANDS OFF, MAN.

I'm in an unknown house. My brother is lying on the floor, minding his own business. The both of us are talking about joining a club or something when he does the unthinkable. The guy gets up, walks over to me, and crushes my babymaker something fierce. You can tell how much I wanted to kill my DC brother after that...

      Dream 30: AGAIN?!

I was on the couch, just barely waking up from a dream. My dad and my brother are pacing around the couch, wondering who's gonna take out the pups. My dad elects my brother, who then elects me. I have this stupid half-smiling, half asleep look on my face, trying to convince them that I'm still asleep. I pull out my phone, confident that they'd be none of the wiser. Then my brother kicks me hard, again, in the one bone that matters. You can tell how much I REALLY wanted to kill him after that... Thankfully it was just a dream, so no harm done.

      Day 29 & 30:

      Fell asleep at: 1:00 AM

      Woke up at: 9:00 AM

      Dreams 31 & 32: Nothing

      Fragments again.

      Day 31:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 1:00 AM

Dream 33: The Rich Get Asylum

Another narration dream, this time starring the voice of DiGi Valentine. In a corrupt, poverty-stricken city, the ones raking in the dome are the owners of an insane asylum. Extortion, money laundering, and exploitation are their main methods of making money.

      Dream 34: T'was A Mirage

I look at the TV, astounded by the fact. My 5-6 year old copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2, scratched to hell and back, is finally functional! Everything is just how I remember it. I grab the controller, but I don't like how loud it is. I lower the volume on my TV using the buttons installed on the TV itself, and then immediately, the game crashes. And then I crash, emotionally. I hate this.

      Dream 35: Shirtless and Witless

I start off in a computer lab, the room darkened accompanied with the busying sound of keyboards clacking. The dismissal bell signals the end of the school day. I get up and go through the hallway to the school parking lot. But then I realize something, both my pants and my shirt are missing, leaving me with semi-translucent red underwear.

It was bitterly cold, and I rushed back to class, using my backpack to cover up my half-naked self. Unfortunately for me, the teacher was still in the class. I went to my desk and grabbed my shirt and pants and put them on before she noticed. I waved a polite goodbye and left in relief.
    10. Day 22, 23, and 24: Nothing, Then A Nightmare

by , 03-10-2018 at 02:52 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 22, 23, and 24:

      Fell asleep at: 11:30

      Woke up at: 7:00

      Dream 22, 23, and 24:

All of them were not really dreams in the slightest. Just random images.

      Day 25:

      Fell asleep at: 11:30

      Woke up at: 7:30

Dream 25: I Now Know My Greatest Fear

Walking around the band hall, it seems people are preparing for the parade that's going on today. Pfft, losers. THIS GUY doesn't need to go...

But I should learn to keep my big mouth shut...

I find my way to Band Hall #3, where the uniforms for the percussionists are being stored. Mocking them, I told them "Good luck with the parade, and don't get horse crap on your shoes."

Walking outside the room, I notice something a bit peculiar...

My right foot has now been TWISTED inward. You know that thing that happens when you get a cramp and your toes forcefully move themselves in either direction? Well that was me. But with my whole foot.

I have to get to an ambulance.

I hobble on one foot, desperately clutching the other as I try to make my way towards my mom's car. My reading teacher acknowledges my situation, but stoppes making fun of me when she sees me collapse on the floor.

Now my entire JAWLINE is forcefully pushed to the left. I can't speak, can't move, and now I can't even see--as my vision quickly turns tunnel. For ten whole seconds I am in the worst, most painful, most powerless state I have ever been in.

      And then the dream ended

    11. Day 21: Tension Rising

by , 03-07-2018 at 06:09 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      No Nobodies here, I promise.

      Fell asleep at: 11:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:00 AM

      Dream 21: Crisis Averted

Outside school grounds, midday. A group of people I'm looking at are cornering a blonde girl outside the courtyard. All of them are wielding SOME sort of blunt weapon (Stick, baseball bat, etc.) and are closing in on the frightened girl. They plan to beat her up, and I pull one of them aside and ask them why they would even think of doing something like this.

I get a response that can best be described as "Why not?", and further close in on her. I manage to talk them out of it at the last minute, saving the lady. She runs away as fast as she can, saying thank you as she runs by.

    12. Day 18 and 19: Vivid Burst

by , 03-03-2018 at 04:55 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 18:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 14: For Dear Life

I remember exiting out of my grandma's neighborhood during the dead of night. My brother and brother-in-law and I are sitting in the backseat of an oversized truck, which my sister is driving.

None of us are wearing our seatbelts, nor did I find any around. I'm clinging onto my seat as my sister swerves around town. The seat is straight metal, so even trying to maintain a grip is impossible. We stopped by a water fountain as a red light mercifully saved me from falling off the car.

      Dream 15: Expected Laziness

I'm in an unidentifiable interior setting. It resembles a library, combined with some sort of coffee shop. It seems some people from school are preparing for a race.

All of them are getting into position, and I manage to sneak my way past them and into another room. Two people I know are there, N.Rio and Mike. Both of them are sitting on a black couch in front of a window. Looking out the window, there was another white cuboidal building off in the distance.

N.Rio and Mike are both on their phones. And since mine was (And still is) broken, I just stared at what they were watching. I remember coming across as awkward and nosy, but beyond that there wasn't much else.

Dream 16: Rolling Chairs are Awesome

Now it's lunchtime. Talking to some DCs, I bring up the undeniable fact that rolling chairs are the best thing one could ask for. To demonstrate my point, I tell them I can get from place to place without even getting out of my chair. My destination? The other side of the cafeteria.

Rolling around at the speed of sound, I race my way past the cluttered cafeteria and to a table where the lunch ladies are sitting, across from where I was at. I hand them my chair, pretending that there's something wrong with it, and I ask them if I can go to the restroom. I guess I thought it was weird that I'd show up there for no reason and head back, so I improvised a reason for doing so when I got there.

      Day 19:

      Fell asleep at: 4:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 17: Dang it...

I remember having a really vivid dream today, but my two puppies woke me up so I forgot all about it. They bark when they're hungry, thirsty, angry, happy, jealous, or when they feel anything at all.
    13. Day 11 and 12: Oh Boy

by , 02-24-2018 at 03:04 PM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Day 11:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:35 AM

      Dream 05:

      Nothing here.

      Day 12:

      Fell asleep at: 12:00 AM

      Woke up at: 7:30 AM

      Dream 06: Ugh...

Walking the hallways at school. It's midday, and slightly blue tinted light streams into the halls. I'm walking the hallway that goes past the cafeteria and into another set of double doors.

On my way over there, I spot three students, one girl and three boys, sitting on benches apart from each other.

This is where the "Ugh..." part comes in.

I approach one of the guys sitting on the bench, as he reaches for his, uh, babymaker. I smack his shoulder, whispering to him, "Dude. No. What the hell?"

The girl sitting on the bench in front of us has a disgusted, concerned look on her face. I begin to blush, my ears heat up, and I get off the bench.

      Dream 07: Ulysses S. Crybaby

Nothing to do with the Ulysses S. Grant of history, by the way.

It seems like I'm playing FO4, but for some reason, Ulysses from NV is talking to the player character. I'm exploring a municipal tunnel running underground, there's red and blue pipes everywhere. Pretty typical stuff. There's a new enemy in the caves, a Rad Monkey.

Ulysses says, "KILL THE MONKEYYYYYY." In his droning, raspy voice. I find myself inside a tiny little room. And as Ulysses is talking to me, "It's All Over But The Crying" starts playing. It was hilarious in the dream, trust me.
    14. Day 9 and 10: Night and Day

by , 02-23-2018 at 04:36 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
      Heh. Puns...

Anyways, yesterday was pretty surreal in terms of the 'stuff' that happened. Glad to be back.

      Day 9:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:45 AM

      Nothing here.

      Day 10:

      Fell asleep at: 10:30 PM

      Woke up at: 6:30 AM

Oddly enough, even though I slept for, like, 8 hours, I felt oddly refreshed upon waking up. Though I felt like I was in the verge of collapse at Band (Which was only an hour later), so... Yeah.

      Dream 01: Bar Fight

In a rustic, old bar somewhere, I was locked in mortal combat with some black jumpsuit wearing thugs. I don't remember much about that fight, the only notable thing being Torbjorn chasing after a giant alcohol barrel. I'm guessing he worked there or something.

Later on, my sister and my brother-in-law pull me and my older sister aside to talk about something. We sit down on a wooden booth. She gives us both a lecture about how this generation is scatterbrained and can't focus on one thing.

I mock her, reminding her of the fact that, generally, she was also pretty disorganized. I think I remember saying, "Hay gurlfriend, hay gurl, hay, hay, h a y ~ " to her while she was telling us that.

      Dream 02: Vick

Eventually, I find myself inside the Thinkspace. It's a grayish-blue gradient void that holds nothing inside of it.

      Except for Vick.

Imagine the guy from Hotel Impossible, only swole and wearing a wifebeater shirt. And with a really bad attitude.

Look, I don't really believe in ghosts, imaginary friends, tulpas, or whatever the hell you call them, but this guy was most definitely trying to fit himself into the 'dream guide' category.

He pulls me aside to give me some tough advice. "Back then you at least had SOME pride, SOME push. Even if it was a DIFFERENT kind of drive, I don't want you to die on the hill you're heading."

I don't know why I named him Vick. Maybe he introduced himself as something else but faulty dream memory distorted it into the name Vick. I'll take his advice to heart.

      Dream 03: The Cow-Pig-Crystal Planet

I'm out and about during the night, along with my family. My mom is driving the car as we exit the neighborhood.

I think my brother or something tells me something about an exoplanet that could support life.

The scene switches to my room. There's a card next to the old Wii I have, which shows a diagram of the planet. On it, it shows a picture of a human, a cow, a pig, and a crystal. The human is crossed out, but all the others have a check mark next to them.

So this means that the planet is hospitable for cows, pigs, and gems(?), but not for humans. Of course, I think it's stupid, but I keep the card anyway because it looks nice.

      Dream 04: Freaky Big-Headed People

I think my SubC may have an affinity for creating fictional races. Earlier a woman in a previous dream turned into a white-skinned, red eyed, green haired, and yes, peach-nippled alien creature; which I named the Dreamwalkers. Now there's a race of native people that...Well, you'll see.

"This incident was more like a "from me to you" kinda thing. Not exactly real journalism."

The dream begins with a stereotypically Boston sounding man (Presumably a journalist) giving his thoughts on the discovery of the exploitation of a native people in the U.S. It also shows a newspaper headline, all in black and white, which indicates that it took place in the 50s.

In the modern day, my art teacher (Mr.L) decides to travel south to meet these native people, probably out of empathy.

Once he gets there, in his old pale-green truck, he goes to talk to one of the women who interviewed the reporter of days gone by. I (The observer) come to the conclusion that these people age much slower than humans. I also see that these native people look like those heads the Olmecs made. These heads are much bigger and much more artificial looking than our own, much like those heads. They're farming tea leaves, it seems.

The girl looks no older than 10 or 11 years old, and is very soft-spoken and polite. She wears a ragged, white dress and a pair of cheap sandles. She is fluent in both English and whatever language those people speak.

For some reason, Mr.L and the girl have to stay outside while they wait for some Bighead to finish doing something. A timelapse occurs, and about a day and a half passes as Mr.L gets more and more drowsy and impatient, while the girl looks completely fine.

I'm willing to guess these people also don't get tired, which would explain why they would be perfect for exploitation. Hey, I'm not supporting it, hell no, but I can see the 'logic' behind it.

The young girl questions why Mr.L is pacing around, and he retorts, "Look, I'm not going to stay up any longer. This is starting to become an annoyance; an iced tea annoyance. Look, don't 'bag me up' or something. Just hurry up so I can get out of here and go to sleep..."

I'm guessing he got what he wanted, as he gets in his truck and goes back home.
    15. Day Seven and Eight: Ready for a Comeback

by , 02-21-2018 at 01:45 AM (An Insomniac's Dream Journal)
Sorry for the late upload, the WiFi was cut because my parents didn't pay it in time. Thank goodness it didn't go on longer than it did.

      Day Seven:

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

Dream 04: If Marvel Made Overwatch(?)

The dream takes place in the first person camera perspective, much like a movie. The subject matter was, of course, Overwatch.

I think I was playing a story mode of sorts, with (Oddly enough) live acted cutscenes alongside the more stylized Overwatch gameplay. I remember playing as Soldier: 76, shooting a big ol' Roadhog as we both try to get to a closed room.

It then switched to a cutscene where 76 says he will "Open the gates to the outside world, and there's no coming back", conversing to (Of freaking course) Teddy Cruise as two guys try holding him back.

Teddy is struggling to get out of their control, but the gates open anyway, and a bright light floods the room.

It then switched to an interview segment with Teddy Cruise remarking about how the light was so bright, he might actually be partially blind in his right eye. Guess the directors at Blizzard or something must've really hated him.

      Day Eight: Nap

      Fell asleep at: 4:30 PM

      Woke up at: 9:30 PM

      Dream 05: Tension Brewing

Talk about day residue. Yesterday, my English class was talking about the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing, going over an article and a poem about the event. It got real heated, real quick, and I think it's safe to say all of that transferred over to this dream.

I'm in a classroom, just doing my work, then I come to realize the teacher is literally not without a racist bone in his body. The kids aren't making things any better, as they too just reciprocate everything he says, jokingly or otherwise. It's just a hostile environment overall.

Dream 06: Pointers from the Subconscious

I dreamt I was designing one of my characters, a time travelling 80s video game protagonist stereotype named John Jones. In the dream, he's wearing an umpire's outfit, complete with a baseball base as a shield and a baseball bat as a sword expy.

      Dream 07: Perspective

I'm at school, again, but this time I'm walking inside the hallways. On my way to the 'I Wing', one of my old friends, D, walks up to me and says hi. We exchange words, catch up with each other for a bit, and go our separate ways. We never really talked that much in the waking world, so I wondered why she was one of my designated 'dream friends' for this one. Hmm...

But there's no time to ponder that fact, as I am now inside my World History teacher's body, personality, everything. In the hallways, I'm trying to calm down two 6ft tall students from beating each other up or something. It was so weird having someone else's thought patterns in mine, but probably something I want to put a pin on later.

      Day Eight: Night

      Fell asleep at: 11:00 PM

      Woke up at: 6:40 AM

      Dream 08: Alpuppies

Back at my house, I exit out of my Mom's room to find that my dogs are fully grown...And fully terrifying. My two puppies (Nemo and Kleo) now resemble llamas than, y'know, dogs.

I take them to go pee outside, where they poop, pee, and spit all over the place. The dream ends soon after.
