Cities in the Astral

07/01/14 Well a new TOTM (task of the month) thread is up so I decided to do a WILD as I had the day off. I used a mantra "Happy Birthday Dream Views" hoping it would help me remember the tasks. I had a swift transition and find myself in a martial arts studio. People are talking about the difference between Japanese Jujitsu and Brazillian Jui-Jitsu. I just walk out of the front door. I am in a near by city where I visited a Brazilian studio. I am familiar with the area so I take a short walk. I cross the street and in a strip mall I find another Jui-Jitsu studio. I think that it represents the one I have started training at despite its location. I go inside. It is just some mats and people working out and another conversation about the same subject. I go out a rear door finding the whole environment un-interesting. I assume it is just residue from daily life. Behind the studio is just a fenced off area, so I go back through and out the front door.
It is a nice sunny day outside. What was the TOTM? I see some people selling fire works out of the back of a pick up truck with a camper on it. Hmm, it is July, maybe fireworks? No, that was last year, I think we are not doing it again. The people light off a huge rocket the size of a 24 oz beer can. Maybe it is fireworks? I will do something with them just in case. I use TK to seize control of the rocket when it is about 10 feet up. I zip it about kind of trying to scare the people, who run away. I TK (telekinesis) the rocket through the back of the camper and want the fireworks inside to explode. I sense a thought forming "They are not catching," and for about 1 second that is true. I over write that thought with "of course they caught, see the flames, it just takes a second for fireworks to explode." I do now see a flame in the truck. Now explode... I picture the explosion... maybe 3 seconds pass (grrrr). The fireworks do go off all at once, but it is just shooting sparks and flames out of the truck. Not very impressive. Darn.
I walk off along the side of the building because I am pretty sure fireworks are not part of TOTM anyways. The dream now apparently has a narrator. A voice sounds, "the kids were attempting to build a huge firework when it caused a horrible explosion" A split screen kind of effect zooms in on the top of the building I am walking past. It shows kids building a huge rocket. I comment on it being more of a military looking rocket than a firework. The dream starts to shift to the roof. I pull control back to the side of the building. "I said I was not really interested in fireworks." I keep walking. Now I see a boy standing in front of me and a braided fuse going up onto the roof. He lights it. I sense that I am supposed to stop the explosion. I walk right by. The narrator jumps in again, "it is a very slow fuse, there is time to save them." I keep walking. The voice again, "but that building is your new martial arts studio. People you know in the studio will die when the roof caves in!" I respond to the voice, "I said I was not doing anything with fire works. This is a dream, so if the building explodes it is not going to hurt anything. I am trying to remember the TOTM." I do not look back and have reached the back of the building. I turn the corner and the scene shifts.

I am now in a room that looks like part of my grandma's old house. The visuals have gone into a sci-fi fantasy genre. In front of me is some tall wraith lord or some scary necromancer or something. He is holding a staff with a exaggerated Shepard's crook like feature. He is kind of glowing with power and I can tell this is supposed to be very dramatic and frightening. (Perhaps a DG is getting fussy because of the rocket issue?) He spouts some dramatic stuff like this more or less, "Behold! I have finally assembled the pieces of the seven part staff. With this I hold ultimate power and the staff has fused becoming indestructible. Fear me, for now I have complete power over you and all things in this realm!" He really is very dramatic. I walk up to him and snap the curved crook end off of his staff as easy as if it were a candy cane. I shrug and drop it at his feet.

Pretty sure TOTM did not have anything to do with wraith lords. I am not really interested in loud mouth bad guys trying to scare me, so I turn my back on him and try to prevent the thought of him from existing. He is pissed and yells, "Well that last part was just not attached right. I can fix it. I swear to you that me and my minions are going to hunt you down and you will pay for this!" I start flying across a rocky landscape and a thought tries to form, "I wonder if he is chasing me?" I suppress the thought knowing it is the thought that would cause that. I put the wraith lord out of my mind and focus on flying and the landscape.

I want to fly faster. The rocks move by faster. No. Work on this, you limit yourself when flying. I mean really really fast. Just make the rocks zip by in a blur and the wind get stronger to create the effect. You can go as fast as you want. Zip, the scene is cruising by. Ok, but lets do faster, real fast, like a rocket. WAIT! That is it! TOTM involved going to another planet! Hmm, teleporting there would be kind of cheating. I could simply blur everything and reform the scene with weird stuff, but that hardly seems fair. I will fly up into space and after some time traveling past stars and such I will see the planet and travel to it. Yes, that sounds like a good task. I take up into the sky in a Superman mode. I fly fast and straight for a half minute or so. Everything has turned sort of sky blue. In fact I am not seeing much at all, but fairly bright light. Ok, I tell myself that as I approach space everything is now getting dark. I expect the darkness. It does not come. Odd, that should be easy. Ok, no self doubt, now it will get dark and stars will appear. It gets brighter if anything, and I am gaining bodily awareness. Carp. What is going wrong? Try to stabilize, let's see, what can I focus on? I will clasp my hands together. Stupid bright light! Too late, I think I am awake and have left the dream. Yep, laying in bed and the sun light is shining through the window directly into my eyes (and I need to pee badly). DEILD? I move the pillow over my eyes and try to DEILD. No, I really do have to pee. I had been in bed over 9 hours, so I gave up and started my day. Dur~10 min?
