I believe the (scientific) jury is still out, on this one. So far, I've heard nothing but anecdotal evidence that people can actually dream in comas - let alone lucidly. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I haven't really heard much that says it is.

That's just like limbo, I mean like being in a dream for such a long time.

Well, if I ever was in a coma, I hope it would be possible, at least I'd have something to do, I'm not sure if the brain is really active during a coma either.

I'm honestly not sure if you can dream in a coma, as others have already said. Even if so, becoming lucid requires a level of consciousness that you might not have while in a coma. Also, if the length of time you were in a coma was relatively long, there's another problem - keeping your lucidity going throughout the entire dream. If it's a long dream, you might end up going non-lucid.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

That's a really good question! But I have no answer :L
I often think how cool it would be, if when you died, you just had a dream for the rest of eternity.
But also, you only have one chance to become lucid, if not, you're stuck forever thinking it's real. Then you'd lucid dream FOREVER.
But I mean, yeh, bit silly ;3

      Yeah it's entirely possible

Think your brain is still strong enough to dream as it's only your imagination , it doesn't have to physically move

You dream when you're in REM and in rare occasions outside of it. I'm pretty sure someone's hooked a person in a coma up to a machine that measures brain waves. You don't dream in a coma, not according to science. But if you're very spiritual and believe in the dream plane being another dimension and all that. Who knows? Perhaps you can OBE or Astral Project whilst in a coma. Only your physical memory can't recall you've done amazing things for years once you wake up.

From what little bit of research I just did online, I found some people who say they have been in a coma and did have dreams.
But it also seems like it depends on the type of coma you are in.

Sounds like you should go driving you car into a wall just yet..
Dreams are free, so free your dreams.
      . . . . . . .
The dreaming world is much like the quantum world; nothing is real until you look at it and as soon as you stop looking it stops being real.
