How do I use False Awakenings to beocme lucid?

Recently when I have used WBTB I have had a lot of false awakenings and fake SP. In one of my recent ones, I used the RC where I tried to push my finger through my hand, which did not work and I thought that I was awake.

Is there a quick, easy and reliable RC that I would be able to perform every time that I wake up?

Nose pinch in my opinion is the most reliable RC, I also use it every single time I wake up in case of FA's

There was this one time I was getting sucked into a long string of FA's. I have this box by my bed that holds chinese medicine balls. In the FA I took them out and set them on my bedstand. The next 4 times that I had FA's in a row I saw that the balls were out of the box, and this served as a reliable RC. This was really neat and useful, but I highly doubt this could be warped into a more valuable technique than the nose pinch RC.

Try to start using a general RC where you examin your surroundings to look for dream stuff. Start doing an RC like this many times a day.
For instance during a FA I often just look out the window and ask if what I see makes any sense. You could also look for objects laying around and ask yourself if they actually make sense.
In a FA you can almost always catch it by this kind of "examination RC". Say I look out the window and it is a poorly developed generic yard scene. Well does it make sense,,, no, where is my great big tree,,, hey, its a dream!

False awakenings seem to be the easiest way for me to become lucid. My bedroom is rather cluttered, but not in my false awakenings. I became lucid a few times when I reached for something on the nightstand and realized that the pile of books I left on the floor were missing. Another time, I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, but all the junk I usually leave on the counter was gone. One of my recent lucid dreams was when I woke up and reached for my notebook to jot down something about a dream, but the notebook was full. Yet I remembered starting with a blank notebook 2 days earlier, so it couldn't be real. Paying careful attention to my surroundings seems to work better than any reality check.

Do your daily RC after waking up..even if it's you are really in a awakening state.

Nose pinch has never failed me. I suggest doing a second for several reasons, two others that have worked for me are double checking a (digital) clock, if available, or counting my fingers (this one can get a little sneaky, make sure you focus on them, and use your other hand to point at each as you count it. This one should be reliable, as long as you're careful about it, otherwise it might fol you).

I had a FA I wrote in my dream journal, I woke up and I was pissed to see nothing there. But anyway OT, nose pinch is the most reliable or a clock check

A false awakening worked for me today! I woke up in my sister's bedroom, but wondered why I would be sleeping there at all. As I tried to figure it out, the scene changed to a completely different bedroom, so I was certain that I was dreaming.

Thanks, for me FAs are the most vivid, undistorted and normal, so when I do RCs in them I tend to have no belief at all that in a dream and I feel that I'm just proving to myself that I'm awake.

I did this RC in a FA this morning and it felt like I was only pinching half of my nose closed, hence I could still breathe. Unfortunately I didn't become lucid though, I just thought that I was doing the RC wrong or something.

Yeah, I been there too. Only way to prevent that is to really commit to the RC. better luck next time!
