Where do you explore or want to explore?

One of my main dream goals is exploration, whether it be original dream-scapes that my subconscious created or dream-scapes based on real or fictional places. So what's on your to explore list? Where have you gone so far?

Some of the places on my to explore list:

Hogwarts and the Harry Potter universe

      Narnia

      Japan

      A field of flowers

      Beautiful forests

      Columbia from Bioshock: Infinite

      Space

      Places from Final Fantasy 13

      Pandora from Avatar

Hyrule and other locations from the Zelda series.

      Beaches

      and many many more

I'd love to go to Hogwarts, space, Paris, some Sonic the Hedgehog levels, some Mario levels (and use those epic power ups too), and Atlantis. There are probably more but I can't think of any at the moment.

The world of Gintama (a cartoon), a place full of dragons and mythical beasts. Uhh.. Magical forest.. Why not? A violin shop with violins so extremely beautiful that it can only exist in the dream world!!

      Great thread!

I don't like most of the colour-schemes - but concerning sceneries - dreaming there would be cool:

Then of course - the solar system and outer space - I've been picturing the beginning of this month's TOTM thread with such.

A fairy-tale forest with elves and pixies and snails drawing little coaches and mushroom-dwellers ..

I want to watch an atom-bomb going off, too - from up close and from space.

And throw an asteroid on earth and watch from different perspectives - no dying, that's not why - I find the optics of what ensues just soo beautiful.

      A planet with aliens..

      And and and..

Honestly, right now I just love to explore what ever environment I find myself in when I become lucid. I have seen the most amazing sky scenes in the last 3 LDs. Takes my breath away.

Dayum StephL those pictures are good stuff!!
Walking along that path from the 3rd picture would really be something else, and the first picture.. Well, just looking at it for 5 seconds has me imagining myself flying and soaring through the scenery, and I'm bad it visualization! Pictures like these make me want to fly in LDs, because wooshing across those sceneries is one of my wildest fantasies Thanks for bringing it up

EDIT: @Tygar, maybe you can visualize yourself to sleep with those sceneries

Sonic and Mario levels would be great to explore! So many games and levels to choose from too, definitely going to add this to my list

The other ones are cool as well, Paris and Atlantis would be beautiful.

I wonder what it would be like to explore a world made out of those retro graphics, would be interesting to see what your subconscious makes that like.

I love that one of your exploration adventures is going to be in a field of flowers
I would love to explore the ocean. Atlantis! Can you imagine how cool that would be? I would also love to create my own kingdom and explore it. I wonder if its possible to create recurring DC's, so when ever you go to your kingdom you'll be greeted by all the different DC's who each are their own character.

Haha, thanks. I've actually visited a field of flowers in one of my LDs but after a moment it faded away and I was back in my room. When I go back I should examine the flowers, some might be real but there might also be crazy dream flowers.

It's definitely possible to create recurring DC's, it's actually one of my dream goals to make DC friends. Hyu has DC friends he hangs out with in what he calls a persistent realm, it's basically a dreamworld that stays persistent. Here's a guide he wrote in his dream journal about how to create one: Persistent realms and other lucid dreaming techniques I use. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I never would have thought that anyone could have created something so real and complex, reading his dream journal. I've sort of had an idea of something like that which Ive been wanting to explore the possibility of but have never encountered anyone who has actually done it, and not intentionally. Thank you for linking that to me.

Hmmm... I mostly want to fight. My mind comes up with the most amazing places, so I normally don't travel much anymore. Just appear places and I really want to go "back" to places I have been. I keep forgetting though. I had a lucid last night and I just stood on a fence and started looking at the scenery for a minute or so. I decided to do a backflip to check out everywhere, and I did a realllllly slow one. I thought about teleporting away to a place that was all clouds and sky (just keep spinning!), but I decided to land. I flew for a bit around before finishing the spin back on the fence. The scenery I saw was breathtaking, a good way to take in a view.

This is wonderful - thank you for that link!
I believe I have for the first time understood one of the riddles of my LDing journey!!
Besides it being great to read about something I am highly fascinated by anyway - like persistent DCs and realms.

In my experience, it just doesn't work right.
      Instead try to go there.
Don't create Hogwarts, instead go to the real Hogwarts.

I do this by leaving my dream bubble (just a bubble containing my current dream), and going to an entirely new place.
Doing so I have an easier time believing that I am in a real place, and not in a dream controlled by my own sub-conscious,
which renders dreams much more realistic.
My first lucid had an absolutely eerie and complete realness - down to every sense and with me consciously checking everything.
I was really able to think pretty clearly too.
Perfectly stable and no doubt about it whatsoever - really like being really unsure.
      And why was that?
Because I learned it over Castaneda's books, and indeed expected to actually be in another realm. A real one, a persistent one.
And a dangerous one - that's why I quite soon tried to and really struggled to finally wake myself up into SP - other story.
But now I understand, why this one dream was so much more stable than anything else after it - thanks to the superstition, it was.

I will study Hyu's DJ further - thanks again!

I'd like to explore all those places you guys have mentioned, but, as I'm just reading Robert Waggoner's book, I'd also like to explore my unconscious self. If you read his account of more than two decades of lucid dream exploration, he moved on from interacting with dream characters and dreamscapes and tried to find out more about what was behind his dreaming experience and explored his inner-self. It sounds a bit boring compared to the fantastic places some of you have described, but, for instance, he tried asking the dream, "show me something that I need to know", and was whisked off to a place by his unconscious.
      It's well worth reading.

I'd like to ride on a photon going in super slow motion through an atom. Or maybe lie on the surface of an atoms nucleus, staring up at the electrons darting all around.
So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

I agree - trying to explore my very self is the huge background motive of it all - and I will also experiment with direct accessing - like asking something of myself and see, what plays out.
Hindering factor in all and every thing - my lucidity is not of sufficient quality, stability and length for my real goals and ideas.

One thing worth mentioning maybe is that I want to explore my own personal refined darts-throw. For this end, I needed to create a consistent and physically correct practice area. The length of the oche, the height of the board and even gravity had to be on spot.

I know, that it is possible, though - and I hope, I can integrate all that is in me already - bring it all together and get a real feel for it to take over into real life.
I have to have a good gestalt of the movements in me somewhere - otherwise I couldn't purple patch, like I do sometimes.
