Unhappy Frequent Lucid Dreamers VS people who never have any

I'm trying but i don't have any . I've had about 2 very faint ones that almost didn't feel like lucid and i've been trying for 3 years.

Yet i read one thread here or somewhere where someone asked how many Lucids have you had from Jan to Now(October 2014) and people were saying 100's , 300s and such.

How come some people have them alot and others don't?

Which techniques have you been using and for long do you do them for? Do you do memory exercises? Do you keep a dream journal? Have you got a consistent sleep schedule? If other people know these things then they may be able to help answer your question.

Practice. Lots of it, daily. You'll never achieve these numbers without a large shift in your life style.

Depends on how you keep up with it. Do you dream journal, and are you RCing correctly? Those are two most missed things I tend to see with people who are struggling.

Maybe some of them are mainlining Galantamine

I went from 1 in first 2.5 months
to 1 per month for next few months
      to 1.5 per weekend
to now maybe 2 per weekend/week

For me I credit waking up after every cycle and adding more Melatonin
Only side effect I get is it makes me cry a bit
(don't do it if your female tho, it will mess with your cycle)

      1)Mantras during the day
      2)Meditation
3)Mantras as i go to sleep: "Next time i'm dreaming I look at my hands and realize I"m dreaming"
"I remember my dreams" and also about what i want to dream about.
4)during the days testing with realitity checks. "am i dreaming?"...and looking at my hands or mirror or clock.
      5)awareness of the environment

Yes i have a dream journal. i don't have a very consistant schedule because i have some medical problems.

SINISTERDEZZ: Thank you for the tips. You said am i RCing Correctly? Well what does correctly mean? I keep asking my self "Am i dreaming?" and looking at my hands or mirror and so on. And yes i dream journal except i have nothing to write because i dont remember anything most days

Hm. Other than the list of things you do during the day, you could try waking memory exercises. Like, as you do a reality check, think of what you were doing an hour ago (or your preferred time). It also counts as a reality check anyway because you could be in a dream and the last thing you remember doing was going to bed.

Have you read the http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-sign...ompendium.html? It has lots of information concerning dream recall.

You may want to switch to focusing on a shorter, statement-based mantra like "I'm dreaming."

What's your recall like now? Do you notice your wakings during the night or only the last one in morning?

One thing many very successful, frequent LDers have is confidence, and a positive attitude, especially towards dreaming.

There are not really all that many dreamers with the super-high LD frequencies, and they also as a group tend to have been in serious lucid dreaming practice for many years, or have at least been very in touch with their dreaming (via recall, incubation) for many years before starting LD practice (so in effect, were "training" for lucid dreaming before they knew about it).

The other major trait shared by very frequent LDers is determination and will -- they never quit.

So if you want to dream like the best, do as they do: cultivate confidence, a positive outlook on life, cultivate self-awareness and minfdulness at all times, painstakingly self-analyze your progress, constantly set aggressive but reachable goals, and never give up.

Thanks all. Yesterday i had alot of success in Dream Recall . I just kept repeating mantras over and over as i fell asleep. But the way i did it was constant repetition and with intent. worked like a charm. and
the mantras i said helped. cause i used the "I dn't forget my dreams" and the "i wake up after each dream" in addition to the " i remember my dreams"

The important thing is to not believe that you are less than others because you can't achieve many lucid dreams. Just because others have had hundreds and you have only had a couple doesn't mean that you are bad at this naturally or whatever. Nobody said lucid dreaming was a contest, having more lucid dreams does not make you 'better'.

At my Taekwondo studio, we are taught that the best competition is yourself. So if you are not happy with your success rate in lucid dreaming, challenge yourself to do better.

Everybody does something for their lucid dreams. Learning to lucid dreaming doesnt happen overnight and without effort. It also takes time to learn to lucid dream. Also i havent been frequent lucid dreamer long time. I did a lot of effort and did every techniques and tips properly. Half assed work for inducing lucid dreams is same as nothing you need to be committed to it. Its not hard if yoy do with full effort. You kind of can imagine that many people have changed they whole way of thinking to lucid dream frecuently. Its a lot of work when you try to change normaö dreaming to lucid dreaming. Although you can have many lucid dream with techniques but if you want to become frequent lucid dreamer you need either create some habit which induces lucidity or change your mindset.

      Repetition and intent -- good!

"i wake up after each dream" -- good!

      " i remember my dreams" -- good!

"I dn't forget my dreams" -- oops! Don't use this one. The subconscious ignores negatives in mantras, so this turns into "I forget my dreams" which you definitely do not want!

So you see now that when you focus your intent, you improve your results. Keep that focus going to build really good, consistent dream recall, and add in strong intent to lucid dream. There are many choices of mantra for that, ranging from "I'm dreaming" to "I recognize the dream state" to "When I'm dreaming, I realize that I'm dreaming"

Maybe they learnt it at a young age and became naturals at it like myself.

<--- LD count needs to be higher.

That's what I think as well.
A lot of people in our culture are discouraged from caring about their dreams, since they are "just dreams".
But apparently those people haven't realized what an impact dreams have on your life.
      Think about nightmares, for example:
if they were "just dreams" then they wouldn't be such a big deal for some people, who experience them very often, because those feelings of great terror in a nightmare were "just experienced in a dream", and somehow this apparently makes them less important, and that's obviously absurd.

Dreams are valued just as much as waking life by our brains, so it makes sense to treat them as valuable, and try to live our lives as much as we can in them.
