I do. First of all the people i live with. But then outside too...there's people with heavy monster trucks or motorcycles even at 12 midnight, and sometimes i keep hearing noises. also airplanes around my part of town. |

No, but I was doing a WBTB-kind-of-thing at like 5:30am (went to bed late) and my dad came in, turned on the light and asked for my laundry and it totally screwed me up and I couldn't get back to sleep. |

Generally things like noise will make you a lighter sleeper, it seems like most people that LD a lot are pretty light sleepers. |
|
I live at a rather busy street and cars pass quiet often, they stop around 2 till 6 but I personally don't have any problems with it. When I was on vacation in Germany and it was perfect quiet on the mountain at night it actually prevented me from falling asleep, I guess I got used to the ambience. |

If you read this do a reality check, you will thank me later...
I have neighbors who blast bass. Also a lot of cars passing with bass playing. I use earplugs and sleep fine |

Definitely agree with that. It would seem though that being a light sleeper isn't really a bad thing for practicing lucidity. Especially for the ones require a little more awareness. But then again, practicing any dream meditation can be pretty irritating in these regards. Occasionally, I would hear the roaring of the cars outside (which can be pretty tiresome). I just need to invest in some ear-plugs. |
|
Place a speaker on either side of the bed and spin some DJ sets, nature sounds or guided meditations. |
|
I live on a street that is noisy between about 8-9:30 am, and sometimes at night. What do I do? 1) earplugs; 2) fan (also helps keep the air "fresh"); 3) teach yourself not to get upset at noise. This is probably the key. Use it in fact in the opposite way: I fill myself with positive emotion, and tell myself, "every sound, every sensation I notice, makes me more and more relaxed…." over and over again. |
