Actual helpful tips (no googled bull)

I am brand new to this website. I am a natural lucid dreamer when I don't have insomnia. I lucid everynight if I want. Are u natural? Maybe but try this. If if doesn't work keep trying. These steps help a few of my dedicated friends

Step one: quit worrying about if it will work or not. It probably won't so keep working on it until it does

Step two: relaxation. Do not think about lucid dreaming all day. Live your life and focus when ur going to bed.

Step three: set alarm ( if you are an early bird set for 5) (if u sleep in until 9 set for 6-7 this is good rapid eye movement time)

Step four: first night hit alarm go back to sleep its too quick and ur too excited It won't work trust me

Step five: night 2 hit alarm but fall back and sleep focused on falling into a dream. Roll ur eyes back into ur head slightly like you are being hypnotised. Slightly don't hurt yourself.

Step six: be relaxed. U might just fall asleep and forget that's ok that's good. That means u are getting practice. You need to exhausted for this to work.

Step seven :get so relaxed it feels like u are spinning in circles and falling asleep and if u feel like u are falling off ur bed not react let it happen. Once ur completely relaxed and feel wierd u just might be in a dream but don't know it yet.

Step eight:if u fall off bed or think ur dreaming go turn on th lights and if they stay off or flicker u are dreaming. Also try putting ur fingers through ur hand or anything that normal would be impossible

If these tips help great. They more than likely won't but worth a try if dedicated. Don't think about lucid dreaming and quit googling stuff. Lucid dreaming is not life. It's just cool thing to do when u sleep. Hope it works out for you

Personally, I feel Google is one of the great wonders of the modern world! It is a gift from God, and probably how most of us found our way here.

How often does this cause you to LD and how long have you been this tech, and how long have you been LDing?

Some of these tips are pretty good, but some I don't agree with. I look up LDing on Google to find new thoughts and new perspectives

What does rolling your eyes back in your head do for you? I've never thought of doing this and am interested to know what the perceived benefit is.

Google is a great place to find Information, sure not everything you find is guaranteed to be good but that doesn't mean good resources don't exist.

I was wondering the same. Maybe it's like when you sometimes focus on the tight feeling in your head when WILDing?

Step one seems like it'd give you some negative schemas.

      I'm a goofy Googler, Yeaaah!
      You a goofy Googler, Yeaaaah!

Haha, no srs, I found Dreamviews via Google. I bet you did too. Unless you used... yahoo :gasp:

Ok, no, srs. I think you meant that info you provide is your own, because you are a natural. But now get this. Those that you are speaking to, will find YOUR info by... :gasp: googling 0_0. So, I think the moment you wrote your thoughts and posted, the title of your thread became not true. Gnarly paradox. Whoa.

I roll my eyes up in the direction of the brow chakra as I state my affirmations for my WBTB method. It seems to allow optimal subconscious programming. Apparently the third eye is the doorway to the subconscious mind, and this technique serves to open this chakra and allow the affirmations to be properly absorbed. It has actually proven to be extremely effective, perhaps give it a try sometime.

This is good enough advice. Don't worry or stress over succeeding or failing. I'd say also celebrate small successes. Remembered a dream? Awesome. Almost become sort of lucid? Cool, you're getting closer! Generally, optimism is helpful.

Step two: relaxation. Do not think about lucid dreaming all day. Live your life and focus when ur going to bed.
Hm, not sure about this one. It kind of goes against the whole idea of doing regular reality checks, and boosting awareness.

This seems like pretty good advice. I've not tried rolling my eyes back when doing this, but it seems worth a try.

This has happened to me. While going back to sleep I felt like I rolled off the bed and onto the floor. Sometimes I start moving my limbs and I'm not sure if I'm physically moving or not, so I do a reality check. Unfortunately, directly entering a dream consciously doesn't happen for me very often. But when it does, it's a very cool experience.

If these tips help great. They more than likely won't but worth a try if dedicated. Don't think about lucid dreaming and quit googling stuff. Lucid dreaming is not life. It's just cool thing to do when u sleep. Hope it works out for you
      Google is our god!
Also, for some people, lucid dreaming may be more than just cool stuff they do while asleep. It can be quite meaningful. I have some pretty lofty goals myself.

That's a bold claim. Can you post something to back it up?

Majority of this site is "original work". Dreams, experiences, even tutorials are all made by our members and staff.

      Well, where do I start...

Being a systems analyst/software engineer I'm an info junkie. I value information and especially if I can find multiple sources, compare, evaluate and find patterns and commonalities. So yeah, I LOVE Google!

Do some folks here reference info found via search engine? Sometimes, however it's usually to buttress their own thoughts and experience. Still, I think that's a very, very small slice of what transpires here. I find the _vast_ majority of info posted on this site is direct personal experience of what works (and doesn't) gained over years and decades of trial, error and success.

No disrespect intended, but going on 28 for the second time around and not being a natural LDer and never having experienced a LD I need all the info available to pull it off. A few quick and nebulous steps aren't going to get me any closer to LDing.

I had my first LD the other night after 6 weeks of work, and I'm certain it's due to all the info and help provided by posters on this site who share their time, techniques and experience with others, and do so not from some position of arrogance and superiority, but from a genuine desire to help others.

In closing I'd just point out humility is a great virtue and you can catch a lot more flies with honey than with vinegar...

Hey Noname11, I appreciate the tips. Especially the one about slightly rolling your eyes back. I remember whenever I would start to nod off in high school, my eyes would start to twitch and roll upwards a little. I'm wondering if doing this could help to trick your body into falling asleep while your mind stays conscious.

Of course nothing stirs up reaction more than a hostile seeming thread. Why? Sigh, drama?

Can you show us some of the stuff you claim is cut and paste from other sources (please with a link to the "original" source)?

I am sure it has happened, but unless the poster is attempting to claim credit for it, that will be standard on any internet endevore.

I would go so far as to say that a large amount of what is not on this site may have been deeply influanced by things found here.

If you are not "a troll" we openly welcome you to share all your knowledge with us, and hope some of ours will be of use to you.

Lmao how wrong you are Noname11. I feel its actually the exact opposite. This entire forum is filled with tons of oneironauts and lucid dreamers that each post their own personal experiences and helpful tips based on those experiences. This is a forum and its based off of a real community of real people, so this claim:
I found on Google like it seems like majority of this site is.
      is complete bs.

If these tips help great. They more than likely won't but worth a try if dedicated
Why would anyone give your tips a try if you don't have in confidence in them yourself. No thanks.

Please don't trash this site. You've just joined so I can bet you have'nt even been through 10 threads yet to make that judgement as to whether this site is all googled info or not. I'll tell you right now: It's not.
On this forum you only get real people, real work, and real experiences. Look deeper into the forums Noname11 and you'll see how true that is.
