I want to do things I can't do in life and to help out some fears.
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

A lot of reasons. A large part of it is that it's just so fun. It's such an incredible experience. I think it's just a way for me to understand my own capabilities in terms of my imagination. It really impresses me how amazing the human brain is and all that it can do.
The Key is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams, because if you can do that, you can do anything.

For me it's all about the experience and the adventure.
Right now I'm mostly trying to experience things that I am physically unable to experience in real life.
It's so much fun, the feeling of visiting places and experiencing events beyond your wildest imaginations is so incredible.
      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

I do believe with the potential brain powers which gets doubled while LDing .
We only use 6% from our brain when we are awake, this can be increased while making brain activities such as meditation and LDing .

      I lucid dream to:
      - Have fun doing things that are otherwise impossible
      - Have adventures and create cool scenarios within my dreams
      - Explore the dream world and observe things closer than regular dreamers can
      - Increase inner and outer awareness, which is the key to LDing in the first place
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      - I subscribe to the philosophy that, since I spend almost a third of my life sleeping, it's worthwhile to make it fun and interesting.
      - It's a whole world to explore, and there are all these cool abilities to learn - in short, it's fun!
Short-term lucid goals: [X] Move an object with my mind [ ] Create a portal and use it to get to a dream scene of my choice [ ] Meet one of my book characters

Long-term lucid goals: [ ] Visit the Dream World Academy [ ] Make a building appear at will [ ] Change my appearance to disguise myself as someone else [ ] Find the end of a rainbow

As Emiko mentioned, it's time I would otherwise never have.
And while it can be fun, there's a deeper aspect to it that intrigues me.

I lucid 'cause it's an interesting challenge. Setting goals and then trying to accomplish them in a world with no bounds makes for a rather interesting hobby, one you do every night anyway.

Besides that, I'm interested in my subconscious for various reasons.

I thought of two more reasons:
      - So I can do things that would be otherwise impossible, like visit virtual and fictional worlds.
      - Because it's one way I might get insight into my mind and how it works.

It makes my life much more enjoyable. It helps me understand myself. It gives me a limitless supply of design ideas and creativity. It helps remind me to not take life so seriously.

I love flying, having sex with whom ever, having super powers and basically exploring my imagination and creativity. I've also used it to solve some problems in my waking life so it can come in very handy at times too.
I am accustomed to sleep and in my dreams to imagine the same things that lunatics imagine when awake.

Hi raetin, this is really odd, yesterday while taking a nap i almost had a wild, i had some pictures flashing in my mind and i could perfectly focus on them, one of them was a picture that looked like a character from a game but now i look at your avatar i got shivers all over my body...it's almost exactly what i saw, it's really freaking me out, did you ever dream about his face before?

Like others have said, its a way to excersize and explore my mind during the huge portion of my life that was previously unconcious and forgotten. I'm amazed at how it has enriched my waking life and helps me to understand myself. Plus, the more I do it the more I feel my imagination expanding . .. and it's all for me, not a single other person, which to me feels very liberating. :-)
