The little ticking noise that sometimes comes from a game consol when the disk skips slightly. That small soft little tick just drives me insane and makes me think my game or console are going to be destroyed

I don't mind any sound.

I'm also notorious for cracking my neck really loudly, at the most quiet of moments.

...Oh...and the constant "beep, beep, beep"-ing of grocery store scanners grate on my nerves. I can deal, but if I ever had to work in one, and put up with that for a whole shift, I would go postal.

to much eye contact is threatening. and i must have sensitive ears because i hate loud noises. the worst noise ever is complete silence.

Yeugh... the kids at my primary school did it. It makes me want to throw up. Similar with sponges on slightly textured worktops. My mum thinks I'm weird because of it.

Yah, I get what you mean, haha. I know my GF's Xbox, and other consoles, do that when at the loading screen too

The sound of a 6yo girl screaming at the top of her lungs... when I have kids, that will be a death sentance for them if they scream like that

There are two sounds that really get me, though: silverware on metal (that horrible, metallic scraping noise), and when people bite their silverware.

The same holds true for me. The sound of a a girl/woman crying makes me really uneasy as well, puts me right on the fucking edge. Not like "Oh a stubbed my toe, boo hoo" or a kid crying because they dropped their ice-cream but crying-crying, if that makes any sense. =/

As for eye contact, it's an effort to maintain it for longer than 3 seconds. Any longer and I panic and look away. I dont have a problem with staring down family or close friends, but anyone else will only catch a glimpse of my eyes before I look away.

Sometimes I just look at their eyebrows or the spot between them.

I hate it when dishes of certain material scrape against each other. It's such a rough noise. D:

the squeaking that my bed makes everytime I move on it.

The sound of babies screaming. Especially when I'm in a nice restaurant trying to eat. Just one of the many reasons why I probably won't have kids.

Off the top of my head no sound makes me cover my ears unless it's violently loud ofc. I think the reason these sounds annoy people is because the frequency in your ear at which the fluid vibrates or w/e I'm no expert but w/e is so acute that it can cause a very uncomfortable feeling. A lot of noises annoy me but none really destroy me. Anything at a high enough frequency is annoying like someone's shrill voice or scratching the nail on the chalkboard. Some react differently maybe because they can hear the sound more acutely... ya now I'm just rambling. All I'm saying is there are tons of annoying things and maybe one moment you are so frustrated that even someone walking can drive you insane or tapping there desk. I think it all has to do with our bodies ability to react to stress not so much the noise itself however the noise might be a cause of some of the stress... rambling again. Well I hope you guys can make sense of this and get back to me

Oh I just thought of one that gets me completely, when dishes bang against each other and especially if they shatter. Like taking a ceramic plate and dropping it into a sink full of other ceramic plates. It makes the worst noise imaginable about a billion times worse than a screaming anything aside from like those stupid owls.
