Thread: DV. Taking itself too seriously...or not seriously enough?

So the story I'm getting out of this is, Auron is an admin, but he's not. Also, mods hate this thread, but two of them have replied, and it seems they don't mind. Don't trust admins, because power goes to their heads. Admins also don't care about this thread. The only person who cares about this thread moderates chat. Since he moderates chat, and cares, all mods think this thread is BS even though 2 out of 3 of them didn't care.




Here are the facts I'm getting. People take me way too seriously when I say banned for x,y,z in a thread. (fun fact, mods don't announce bans in thread everyone can see, it's just poor tact.) Mel and Auron don't give a fuck, and anderj probably doesn't care because this thread isn't about bacon. Auron isn't an admin....he wants to be, but he's too evil/good to get there. No matter what nifty feedback that has been given by staff in general, no one that has authority over this thread is going to do anything about it. Sparta mods chat. So no one cares what he says unless he's in chat. And finally, those cookies need more details.

Actually, I don't really care. People can hate me all they want. I'm here to moderate chat, and that's it. People want to hate me for that, then fine. Their problem, not mine.

Correction....none of the staff gives a crap about the thread. Also, I hate you...I hate you so hard. When We finally meet in RL I'm going to poison myself, and use my last remaining strength to let you know how much I hate you. Then I'm going to haunt the shit out of you in the afterlife.

I believe DV is doing all of the OPs suggestions.

There are some on here that treat every post very seriously.
There are others that argue at every opportunity.
Then there are the helpful ones, with polite replies to all.
There are strict moderators, and relaxed moderators. ( Not saying which )
You get the verbal type that joins because the forum exists, and they just want to chat.
The lurkers must be laughing at us, with their 'under a dozen' comments/replies.

All in all, a typical, succsessful forum, with a mixed bunch of loonies.

Other than sections on DV that actually have conflict, it's made apparent that areas like Extended Discussion and such obviously have the disclaimer to expect one's views and concepts of things to be challenged (but people will obviously censor themselves with ending things as agreeing to disagree and other cop-outs). And I know there has to be some breaking point for mods take some action, but honestly, when people think those sections are like battlefields rather than for once seeing your worldview of things being broken, they would take the chance to just swallow their pride and realize they could be wrong in some things.

As for mods, it's funny how there's some people that feel they're "Nazis", especially whatever choice or judgement they decide to enforce, people will still find some way to whine and complain.

P.s just kidding, the mods here are great. The amount of work that goes on in the background here to keep this site perfect is phenomenal. It's a little strict sometimes but nothing we shouldn't handle. Be grateful that the mods even exist!!

They made me a mod briefly. It was actually because I was writing subversive texts that didn't conform to the agenda, so they ingested me into the system. They loaded me up on koolaid filled with psychedelics and subjected me to mesmerism and 'Identity Conformism Programming' and dissolved my personality. But it's ok - honestly I don't even miss the parts that are gone now.
