Seriously, there's a chicken/egg thing at work here that's tricky (if not impossible, since it may originate far, far below our conscious thoughts) to discern precisely what comes first. It very well could be the awareness that kicks in without you "feeling" it that gives you that tiny little push to notice the gravity.....or not, like I said, it's tricksy.
