    1. The End Cave

      by , 06-02-2015 at 04:21 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
I didn't meant to be gone for so long, but life hit me really hard toward the end of last summer and I was therefore already behind when school had started back up. I think things are finally at a point now where I can focus on dreaming again.

      The End Cave (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I'm in an incredibly large cave, though it does not look like one, camping with my mom, brother, and Cheyenne. There is a wide, rushing river cutting through the middle, with a forest on the side opposite from us. Near the forest is another family of campers. There is something terribly, terribly wrong with this cave.

Cheyenne wakes up frantic in the middle of the night from a bad dream. In the dream, she saw Jesus standing on the other side of the river. He had no eyeballs and he was drowning little children in the river, one by one, like some perverse baptism.

I decide that we need to leave this cave immediately. There is a terrible, heavy feeling in the air, practically suffocating in its intensity. We should not be here. We all run back outside through the small entrance. It feels so good to breathe outside air again! Outside, everything feels normal and calm once more. Unfortunately we've left all our belongings inside and my mom insists that we go back to get them.

The sickening feeling returns at once upon our entrance. I feel physically ill, with an almost unbearable dread of some great unknown. I'm having to support Cheyenne to keep her from falling; she's barely conscious and not responsive. Just as we gather our things, a great howling comes to us from the other side of the river. A pack of coyotes emerge from the forest, though they appear as large as wolves.

Half the pack surrounds the family on the other side of the river, the other half crosses over to us. We run, and despite my assurance that coyotes don't harm people, they begin to attack. I am bitten numerous times as I fight them back from the entrance while the others do everything they can to block it off. The entire time we can hear the other family's screams of agony as they are eaten alive by the pack.

      The Scorpoin Still Stings (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Alternate life dream in which I have an older brother.

My memory has been wiped, as has my brother's. He was once overcome by darkness and tried to kidnap me as a baby to drag me along into the shadows. My family was meant to kill him, for the darkness could not be contained forever. Instead, they pulled the memories from both our minds and prayed for the past to remain hidden.

Of course, you cannot bury the past. On my brother's 13th birthday, our memories are restored and with them come the darkness that swallows his soul. I am in danger once again.

While my parents serve as distraction, I am meant to journey out to retrieve an object that will bring my brother to his ultimate demise. I have no idea what the object shall be--- only that it is hidden within an Easter Egg, of which many are scattered throughout the woods for the great hunt that is taking place on this day. I am given only one clue: "When you retrieve the egg, hold on to the sun to preserve your life."

As I run through the woods, cracking open each egg only to find bits of candy, I wonder what this riddle is supposed to mean.

Even more concerning: my parents have failed in their attempt at distracting the boy who was once my brother. He is hunting me through the forest as relentlessly as I hunt the egg. I barely stay out of his reach, using a rather deep bend of the creek to hide. He always was afraid of the water.

Suddenly, the meaning of the riddle becomes clear to me. I am submerged in the creek, reaching up toward the sunlight that sparkles brightly above me. I'm "holding on to the sun." The egg must be hidden deep underwater!

I dive deep below. Sure enough, I see an egg lying in the still water at the bottom of the creek. I grasp the egg just as the urgency for air propels me to the surface to face my brother once more.

I am angry at him now. He has destroyed all sense of peace within me, poisoning me with the paranoia of being ever hunted with not even a moment to spare for rest. I try to push him below the water to drown him. When that doesn't work, I shove him forcefully against a tree, beating his head against the hard trunk over and over again. There is no life in his eyes, as if my abuse means nothing to him. Sickened, I throw him to the side and run with the egg back to my family.

The dream disintegrates to nonsense after this point.

    3. Face Off with Team Rocket

      by , 07-02-2014 at 05:58 PM (Death's Other Kingdom)
Much better recall and clarity last night. I've been reading and meditating before bed instead of mindlessly scrolling through the internet, so that seems to be helping. Also, I fell asleep listening to some binaural beats that claim to "Access powerful super consciousness connection."

      Office Space (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I am at work talking to my fellow student worker, only she's not the same girl who works with me irl. I don't remember what we're talking about. Suddenly, the girl grins mischievously and starts kissing me, backing me up to sit on the counter and grinding against me. It feels great, but this is not the best place for such activity. Especially if Brandon catches us--- I'd never hear the end of it from that perv.

"Not at work," I say, pushing her off of me. It seems that we're actually dating, so we have plenty of other opportunities for making out in places that won't get us fired. Still, she takes my rejection the wrong way.

"What, are you ashamed of me!?" she snarls. I'm kind of surprised by her anger.

"No, no! It's just not professional to do that here..."

At this point, a customer walks in. Normally our front desk person would take care of walk-ins, but she's out for the moment. My angry girlfriend goes to the front to see what the woman needs. She seems to be retired professor who needs access to her old email account. My girlfriend YELLS at her that she has to create a ticket and to stop bothering us with her stupidity. I rush to the front as the old woman is about to burst into tears. "It's okay, I can help you, Ma'am." My girlfriend stomps back to the work room to sulk. "I am SO sorry about my coworker. She's.... having a bad day and taking it out on the wrong people."

      Facing Team Rocket (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I'm wondering around campus in the dark, enjoying the solitude. Near the back of the psychology building, I gleefully roll down the hill like a little kid at a playground. Soon, though, I hear the sounds of another person nearby. I cannot see them in the darkness, but I know I am no longer alone. I have the feeling that I'm about to be attacked. Though not afraid, I decide to avoid the trouble. I run back tothe main part of campus. Running feels so great, I never want to stop!

      *memory lapse*

At some point, I "wake up" with my aunt talking loudly over me with her oldest daughter. She's saying that she's going to start making me do a bunch of chores in order to provoke "a conection with Jesus Christ" within me. She also says some really mean things, some of which are potentially true, such as that I take myself too seriously.

By now, I'm hurt and angry. Doesn't she realize I can her her? I think to myself furiously. Still, I pretend to sleep so that I don't have to talk to her.

Later, a couple who look just like Jessie and James from Pokemon are after my brother. If I understand their yammering correctly, they wish to hand him over to Lord Voldemort. They're in our old house, holding us at gunpoint.
      I suddenly become lucid.

I grab my brother's hand and pull him through the (closed) window behind us. He seems way too reluctant to run. "Come on, you idiot!" I yell, practically dragging him behind me. "This way!"

I intend to run down the gravel road behind our house to hide in the field of tall grass. When I get there, however, I'm dismayed to find that the field has been mowed. While we still have a head start, I do my best to make more grass appear. Every time I succeed, though, we lose our head start and Team Rocket spots us, making my newly formed hiding place utterly useless.

Abandoning the grass idea, we bolt off into the woods instead. I pull my brother into a giant hollowed out log. Team Rocket seems to know exactly where we're hidden. They drag us out from the log and point the gun at us once again.

This time, I have a gun of my own. I fire at them--- and miss! When I pull the trigger again, all I hear is the empty clicking noise.

But suddenly, there are two more shots. I think they've shot my brother until they both drop to the ground, dead.

I look up to see a man that I'd met in an earlier part of the dream that I can no longer remember. He smiles, winks at me, and turns around to walk off. I think he's going to leave, but he suddenly turns back and starts purposefully towards me.

"What are you doing?" I ask him.

"What do you think?" He pulls me into his arms and kisses me passionately. This is some kind of dramatic continuation from our earlier conversation, so for the sake of the plot I kiss him back. It sparks absolutely nothing within me. I think to myself, If I actually still liked guys, this would be an epic ending to the dream.

      Worst Family Reunion Ever (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

It it snowing, and there is word that the largest blizzard ever is about to pass through our area. My dad and I rush out to get groceries. Unfortunately, he passes the grocery store and says he has to get his car washed first. I figure we should get food as quickly as possible and get off the road before things get even worse, but I hold my tongue.

Along the way, we meet up with some old family friends (who don't exist IRL). One of them is telling me that her daughter is dying to hang out with me, even though we've only met one time many years ago. Somehow, my deceased Aunt Linda is with this group. She is smoking in a very ostentatious manner, blowing the smoke in my face as she talks. She accuses me of thinking that she is some kind of hobo.

My dad and I leave, but instead of going to the grocery store, he ends up in some kind of insane work-out cult. He tells me to wait for him while he exercises with the trainer. I wait for an extremely long time until he finally comes back outside. He now looks like a freakish body-builder, and has shaved his hair except for a big greasy mohawk. He tells me that he has to continue working out here and that I need to wait for him. I get really mad and tell him that I'm leaving. He refuses to give me the keys to the car, so I decide to walk.

For some reason, I decide to walk to my grandmother's house instead of my own. Big mistake. My Aunt Linda is there, along with one of my cousins and several rough-looking partying types. They're all drinking, and there seems to be a small orgy beginning. Completely disgusted, I decide to sneak around to the other side of the house so they won't notice me. I fly over their heads ((I'm not lucid, but I know about my dream powers somehow)) but Aunt Linda notices me. She says my dad has called with instructions to keep me here. They lock me in the house.

A boy who lives nearby has seen my plight and is waiting in the house for me. He's supposed to be working with my captors, but he likes me and wants to help set me free. We both jump through a window and he keeps them away from me before joining me in the grand escape. We make it to my house, where I give him a huge hug for helping me. It is a really nice, warm hug--- better than any I've experienced IRL. Unfortunately, my feelings for him are only platonic while he seems to have fallen in love with me.

    5. Epic: Journey into the Requiem

      Facing the Goblin Hoard (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

My faithful companions and I enter the palace of the light goblins, seeking the Goblin Princess named Whisper. She had sent word to my Knight that she has some important information for us. The light goblins may be less savage than their kin, but we still must be careful. Humans in the palace are subject to intense scrutiny: one wrong move and we'll all be killed.

A young female goblin servant slips my knight a letter from the Princess. It reads: "I'm in the subconscious right now. You must meet me in the Requiem." We all exchange anxious glances. The Requiem--- home of the dark goblins--- is exactly where we did NOT want to go.

We begrudgingly make our way to the Market and buy as much fruit as we can, as tribute to the dark goblins. You won't get very far in the Requiem without a substantial food offering to pacify the greedy little beasts.

Then the time comes to enter the massive cave system known as the Requiem. We decide to go in groups of two to ease suspicion. The Dark Goblins tend to find humans amusing, even going as far as inviting large groups of them to attend events in the Requiem's inner chambers. However, getting to these inner chambers is easier said than done. The goblins along the way will find any excuse to snatch a human away before they reach their destination.

Because the goblins are confident in their vast numbers (and rightly so) we are allowed to bring in our weapons under the condition that they are sheathed at all times. I decide to bring my faithful scimitar, though I hope I won't be needing it.

I enter the caves with my friend Alma, a healer who is actually quite knowledgable about Goblin culture. After giving the doorman his part of the tribute, we make our way inside. An older she-goblin stops me a few minutes into our slow, wary journey. She wants to play a game with me. Apparently this game involves slapping me in the face with a mostly deflated balloon. I stand there and take it, hoping that she'll grow weary of the "game" and let me go. She tells me I'm not doing it right, that I'm supposed to cry out in pain. I realize she is kind of like a child who hits an adult and finds it funny when the adult pretends that the weak attack has injured them. The next time the she-goblin hits me, I cry out and pretend to be in pain. Unfortunately, an older male goblin watching nearby lets out an annoyed "shhhhh!"

"Ah, a shush from him means an execution. Too bad!" the old she-goblin cackles. I sigh in frustration and weigh my options. Resisting their attacks wouldn't do much good--- there are far too many of them to fight. Even if I could, it would put Alma in the middle of the danger. I have no choice but to run.

So run I do. I barrel into the annoying she-gob, sending her sprawling to the floor. I bolt through the door before me, cringing at the sheer number of goblins who begin chasing after me.

I run for a very long time, deftly taking unexpected turns and even throwing myself through a large stained glass window, but they always keep right on my heels. Maybe it's time to make a stand.

I climb up a pillar in a large cathedral like room, all the way up to the rafters. I figure that the goblins could only move single file along the narrow beams, thus allowing me to chop them down one at a time. But more by luck than anything, I somehow fall through a nearby window into a large courtyard where a lot of other humans are gathered for an event (including my comrades). Goblins are notoriously bad at recognizing individual humans in a crowd, so I blend right in and successfully escape. As long as I can hide my limp from the fall, they shouldn't recognize me...

      Animal Planet (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I have entered an alternate timeline in which animals rule the world and consider people a lower form of life. In the city, I see busses with writing such as "PETA Daycare." I find this very amusing. My mom and I are attempting to return to our hometown, but when we come across some temples and holy statues sacred to the animals, I break away to explore. In the process of exploring, this human-looking girl who claims to be half animal begins chasing me. Humans are not allowed to wander around alone, so I am deemed a fugitive and a rogue. (Apparently animal-human hybrids such as the girl chasing me are raised as animals).

I run away but the animal girl always finds me. I still have a bottle of alcohol from a previous dream, which ignites a plan within me. The bottle has different settings of strength and flavor, so I turn it to the highest strength and trick my pursuer into drinking it. Now that she's drunk, I figure that escaping her will be twenty times easier.

Unfortunately for us both, I am wrong. The girl follows me to a strange area where a set of monkey bars reaches over a span of incredible height. I am carefully making my way across when she tries to pull me down. I tell her to cut it out or she'll get us both killed, but she is drunk and not in her right state of mind, so she keeps trying.

She almost falls herself, but I manage to catch her and help her down to solid ground. I gently lay her down; she is no longer as drunk, but she's bretty shaken up from the scare of almost falling to her death. She mumbles out an embarassed "thank you."

In response, I unexpectedly lean over and kiss her. At first she is startled, then she kisses me back. Sadly, a group of pure-blood animals have come upon us while we were distracted. They are furious, screaming that a relationship between humans and animals are forbidden. We are forced to flee. She is very angry with me for making her an outcast, but we have no choice but to stick together to evade capture. I find the whole situation very amusing.

      Guardian Spirit (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I have died and I think I've been born again. A bit of time passes until my brain has the capacity to think. I am a bit disconcerted when thinking about my new appearance. "I... have blue eyes...?" I ask out loud, more to myself than anyone else. I remember having green eyes. Why are they blue? My mom says I have blue eyes just like my father's. I soon realize that I am not actually the child--- my spirit is simply connected to hers. She is actually my brother's daughter; my niece.

I am somewhat sad to be dead, but I decide I will make my death worthwhile and watch after my niece as her guardian spirit. I will not let any harm come to her. The child sees me as her imaginary friend. Now one suspects that my spirit is still lingering. My parents are raising the child as their own--- I have no idea what has happed to my brother, but I suspect he may be dead as well.

      Second Life (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I have my personality, but I am a different Person in another life, apparently in high school again. My best friends and I have a strange inside joke about our group’s “rulebook,” which contains arbitrary rules about our friendship. We are in the cafeteria getting lunch. Friend #1 walks away to get tea. While she’s preoccupied, I strike up a conversation with Regina, our school’s bitchy head cheerleader. She is talking about hair with her friend, and I mention that I’ve given up caring about my own hair. She makes some snide comment about it and says something about me being a nerd. I tell her I am proud to be a nerd. The entire exchange seems to be more out of routine than actually malicious. I am enamored with Regina and enjoy these little encounters. I’m beginning to suspect that she does as well.

When I return to my table, I obviously have a stupid grin on my face. Friend #1 asks me what happened.

      Me: *still smiling* Nothing.

Friend 1: Nothing my butt. Did you meet someone? Did you have a romantic encounter?

Me: No. I just had an amusing conversation with… someone.

Friend 1: *sudden realization* Oh god, tell me you weren’t flirting with Regina again! I can understand if you like the cheery types but seriously? Regina?

      Me: Hey, it’s not---

Before I can defend myself, Friend #2 sits with us. She notices that Friend #1 is once again carrying an empty pocket book with her (an apparent weird habit of hers). “New rule,” she says. “No carrying empty pocket books.

      Friend 1: What? Why not?

Friend 2: Because, it looks dumb and I’m embarrassed to be seen with you.

      Friend 1: It does not.

Me: Actually, it makes sense. What if the apocalypse suddenly happened? Yoou’d need a bag to carry important items you find, like in Silent Hill or Resident Evil.

Friend 1: *stares at me like I’m crazy, then turns to Friend #2* Okay, you’re right. It’s stupid.

My life has been pretty hectic since this past summer, but (as always) I miss being active here and talking about dreams with everyone. So I'm going to attempt to bring this journal back up to date with a few highlights from my written DJ. I'll group them by month so there won't be an overflow of posts from me.

      Rise of the Mutants (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I go into a strange Japanese restraunt with my friends from college. We are only stopping by to use the bathroom after ((some events I can't remember)). All of the prices are listen in Yen, so I have no idea how much everything actully costs. It looks really expensive though.

I am admiring a fish tank in the back that has extremely exotic creatures that I've never seen before. One of the creatures is fairly large, about the size of a dog, has webbed hands and feet, a lizard tail, fish fins coming out of its face (like the Hyoo-mans), and a drill for a nose. The creature stands pressed up against the glass, staring at us.

Somehow the thing escapes, along with others of its kind. It turns out that they are somewhat sentient. We are supposed to stand perfectly still while they sniff us and nothing will happen, but everyone is freaked out and one of them slaughters Hannah.

Years pass and these things have taken over. We have taken refuge in the sewers, but as part of a resistance force we've been above ground doing some scouting. We get caught. The creatures are sniffing us. I manage to stand still until they try sniffing up my skirt, then I freak out and squirm around, trying to get away. This triggers their wrath, and we are forced to run away.

      Chase of Fools (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Early one morning, I hear the school bus go by and I realize I've missed it. ((What I fail to realize is that I graduated high school nearly a year ago...)) I run outside and see that I will never catch up on foot. I guess I'll have to drive.

My neighbor Melissa has also missed the bus, so I decide to give her a ride as well. After I turn off my street, we are on a road that should lead straight to the school. Instead, we end up in some weird complex.

No longer in the car, we are walking on foot through the complex.
I become lucid, because missing the bus and then getting lost is a common dream sign of mine. I decide that all I really want to do for this dream is to explore.

The complex is basically made up of short walls surrounded by a barbed wire fence. There are three sections to the complex, each one taller than the previous. As we are walking through this rather boring place, a tall naked man with deathly white skin and no face comes up behind us. He is angry that we are in his complex. He clearly wants us dead.

I am in no mood for a chase, so I figure that if we just get out of the complex, he'll go away. With a combination of flying and climbing, I make it out and head into the town. Unfortunately, the creepy guy is still following.

I decide to just ignore him out of existance. The only problem is, everyone I come across intentionally says something to remind me of him, so he continues to chase me.

I lose lucidity somewhere along the line when I have a false awakening. I make it back to my house, where I find horrifying sigils drawn everywhere. I recognize the sigils as a sign of an incredibly evil demon lady who has apparently tormented me in the past. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of her again when I wake up.

      Coughing up Roaches (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I am in a classroom at my old high school with two annoying kids who were freshman back when I was a senior. I take a nap, and when I wake up the entire school has undergone some kind of demonic shift.

My first sign that something is terribly wrong is when I begin coughing up roaches. I am coughing and hacking, with huge live roaches spilling out onto the floor. One of them crawls out of my mouth and scurries up my face to hide in my hair. I am disgusted, but not quite as disturbed as I should be.

Some time passes and I am deep within the belly of the school, in a dungeon-like area filled with row upon row of drying racks. On the racks are the decaying corpses of goblins. I am travelling with a live goblin, and I feel sorry that he has to see all of this. The ceiling is very low, so we are walking hunched over.

We make our way through the seemingly endless expanse of dead goblins, when the ceiling begins to collapse. We quickly evade the falling rubble until we come to an area where the ceiling is a bit higher. There are still rows and rows of drying racks in this area, but at least we don't have to hunch forward to walk anymore. Unfortunately, there are also Giants guarding this section. I imagine that they are on high alert due to the collapsing ceiling, so we flee the area as quickly and quietly as possible.

Along the way, these red bamboo creatures called "Rod Foxes" begin chasing us. I lose my goblin companion, but I make it out of the drying rack area and hide from the Rod Foxes in a classroom. There are a few students in there who are former classmates of mine. One of them looks out the door and says that a teacher is coming. This is a problem, because all of the teachers have become demonized. My classmate says that if we just do as we're told, he won't hurt us.

The teacher enters the room and tells us to sit in alphabetical order. We comply immediately. He then slams a putrid goblin head onto my desk and says that I must eat it, because it's "tea time."

I refuse to eat the goblin head and end up slashing the teacher's throat with dual knives. (Not sure how I acquired these.)

More time passes and my cockroach problem has gotten worse. I can't stop coughing, and the roaches are crawling out of me at an alarming rate.

Somehow I manage to stop coughing. There is a painting of a castle on a nearby wall, and I
become lucid while admiring it. I decide that I will go into the painting and explore the castle. I manage to get into the painting, but the night is so dark that I can barely see.

      I wake up shortly afterward.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I am running from a particular group of people who always manage to find me. My brother is with me. We are part of some Hunger Game-esque future in which college and high school age students are thrown in prison camps.

My brother and I run down the dirt road behind my old house, when we see a dark car up ahead. We quickly take another fork in the road, only to come across another car. Both drivers are now after us. We veer off the road into the forest until we see a cabin. With nowhere left to go, hidng there seems to be a good option.

When we enter, however, there are two men standing there. I am about to fight them, but they convince me that they are on our side. "Not everyone agrees with wiping out part of society," one man says bitterly. He tells me that he was a teacher. I decide that I can trust him.

We hear car doors out front. "Hide!" the men say.

There aren't many suitable hiding places in the room. My brother hides beside a bookshelf while I hide under a couch. The men chasing us never come into the cabin.

      Fat Demon (DILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I have travelled back through time to the year 2008. I am going to my grandma's house. I'm really excited, even though it is a very important mission, because this should mean that I will get to see my grandfather again.

Outside the house, there is some scene involving a cat that seems important, but I cannot remember it.

Weird things are going on in the house. My grandfather is already dead, which doesn't make sense since he died in 2011. My grandma has a shrine for him built in the living room. I am stressing out, trying to figure out what's going on.

After examining the signs, I realize I have seen this situation before. A certain type of fat demon is causing this. All I have to do is kill him and things should go back to normal.

More weird things happen, and I remember becoming lucid. I go along with the plot of the dream for a while longer (though I can't remember any of it! I just remember being lucid for a really long time in a huge market like area). Eventually I decide to try to complete by goal of finding out the name of a girl that my friend drew. Crazy things are still happening all around me, and I'm wondering how I can focus on summoning her while I'm being chased by whatever it is.

((This was a really long dream. I wish I hadn't forgotten all the important parts.))

      Roaming the Night (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

Prior to the events of the dream, I was hanging out with a werewolf and a vampire in a pub somewhere in the city. These two happen to be characters of mine from some silly story I tried writing in middle school/early high school.

The dream opens as I am walking through the city at night, searching for my car. Once I find it, I make a wrong turn down a dark, sketchy looking road. Somehow I end up on foot again as I try to turn back around (dream logic doesn't like me driving, apparently). As I'm walking, a tall guy in his late teens approaches me. He is dripping with an air of false friendliness.

He soon questions me about the vampire I was hanging out with in the pub. He wants to know his name. "Vincent," I tell him, mentally preparing myself for the fight or chase that is bound to happen.

      "Vincent what?"

"Just Vincent. He doesn't have a last name. For all I know, Vincent isn't even his real first name, either."

The guy loses his friendly act and says that the vamp is bound to come here once he hears my screams. I can't really see Vincent caring one way or another what happens to me, but Dakota (the werewolf) would surely flip out. Not wanting the wolf to find out what trouble I've gotten myself into yet again, I break into a sprint.

I easily stay one step ahead of the guy, but soon we come upon my Aunt's house and I see that this isn't going to end without a fight. The guy is stronger than I would have thought; it becomes clear that he intends to rape me. The fight is brutal and lasts several minutes. In the end, I get the upper hand and beat the guy until he is moaning on the ground, pleading for me to stop.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I spontaneously become lucid in the middle of a somewhat hectic situation that I can no longer remember. I decide to fly away.

I start from my house and fly over the trees, the back road, and the forest. All along the way, there are Freddy Krueger posters EVERYWHERE with strange and violent quotations on them. "Hmm, I wonder what he's up to," I murmur to myself. I fully expect him to show up and try to cause trouble. He'd better stay away if he knows what's good for him. ((It is a running joke among my friends that I was married to Krueger and am now divorced.))

I am flying Peter Pan style, and it is quite an exhilerating feeling. I pass by a lot of beautiful scenery. At one point I stop to talk to some people,
but my recall is really hazy and I don't remember what happened next. Sadly, I know there was a lot that happened afterward, I just can't grasp it at the moment.

      Demon Opression (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

My campus has been overrun by demons who are under the guise of Indian women. I am standing in the lobby of my dorm, preparing to leave. A little girl, around 11, is trying to get in the elevator. I know that once on the elevator, it will draw people in to the demon's dimension, making escape almost impossible. But the girl is convinced that she has to get upstairs to find her sister. I get on the elevator with her, determined to protect her.

We get upstairs and the demon women spot us as soon as we step off the elevator. I grab the little girl and haul her down the hallway, keeping her away from the demons. We never find her sister, but we somehow make it back outside.

Later I am riding to California with my friends to start anew. The world is somewhat post-apocalyptic now; dark and dangerous. As we are leaving, I see my German professor chopping firewood in a temporary camp near the school. I am surprised that he now has a lot of intricate tattoos going down his body.

      Overthrowing the Tea Party (DEILD)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I wake up in sleep paralysis, and my clock informs me that I'm late for work. I'm not sure if I'm just hallucinating this, but I can't be late after missing so much last week! I struggle to wake up. No avail. The entire time, a sermon from some conservative southern Baptist preacher is blaring from my television. It is one of the most irritating things ever...

Suddenly Amanda comes in the room. "Hey, don't you have class now?" she asks.

"Yes," I mumble in a weak voice. "Please wake me up."

She sits down on top of me. At first, I am still paralyzed. But then: "Hey, I can move now." I do a reality check and confirm that I'm actually dreaming. I decide I'm probably not really late for anything.

"I need you to come with us," Amanda tells me in a strange voice. It's almost as if she's hypnotized. Curious, I decide to play along.

"Fair enough. But afterwards, you should help me find that girl that you drew. That's my goal, remember?"

She doesn't answer. She just looks at me expectantly, waiting for me to follow her. I shrug and attempt to put on my bedroom slippers. It doesn't work, and I figure I don't need them since it's just a dream.

She leads me into an attic where my other friends are waiting. "Hey guys, what's up?" I ask.

"Welcome to the Tea Party," they all say in weird, robotic voices. I look around the room and see that it is completely filled with radical Republican propaganda, including some pictures of my friends that show women "in their proper place." What the hell?

I take their pictures off the wall and stare my friends dead in the eyes as I rip the papers to shreds. They all gasp in horror. "That's what I think of your stupid Tea Party," I laugh, knowing that I just picked a deadly fight.

They all come at me at once, screaming about how I betrayed them and ruined everything. I leap down from the attic, intending to just ignore them and to carry on with my original goal, but they latch onto me. Since they're restraining my arms, I kick out at them violently. Alex complains that I've broken her ribs. "Good," I growl.

I wake up when Alex sneezes in real life.

Not sure what's with all these perverse dreams I've been having. I never used to have any at all. But oh well, can't complain.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I accidentally set off Wal-Mart's alarm system as I'm examining some RuneScape merchandice. All of my friends run away, leaving me as security shows up. "No big deal," I think. "Not like I stole anything." They search me and obviously don't find any stolen merchandice. However, they say they're going to have to hold me overnight. "You can't do that!" I exclaim. They tell me that they can.

When they're distracted, I take off running and leave the store. They follow after me and actually start shooting at me! Alarmed, I make my way to the back of the property where their delivery trucks are. As I'm running, I notice that my mom is tied up in the back of one of the trucks. She tells me that she got busted for shoplifting.

I free her and we run away.

      *time lapse*

Some strange things have happened that I don't remember. I am now trapped in a creepy mansion with two people I've been travelling with. I'm sitting at a table with one of them, a girl who is crying to me that the guy we're with has cheated on her. She says she still wants to be with him, but she can't just let him get away with cheating. "Well, why don't you cheat on him? Then it'll be even," I tell her.

"I can't just sleep with some random person to get back at him," she cries.

"It doesn't have to be a random person," I say with a smirk. "I mean, I'm always available." She looks as though she's considering it, so I slide closer and kiss her. We then stand up and I lead her into a back room. Sadly, some people in the mansion burst in and interrupt us, so we're once again on the run.

I spontaneously become lucid and decide that I am bored with the dream. I don't want to be in this mansion anymore. So I phase through the nearest window and somehow end up in my grandma's neighborhood.

After rubbing my hands together to stabilize the dream, I begin to walk happily down the street, singing to myself and just goofing off, enjoying being lucid under normal circumstances after so long. As I continue down the road, I notice that the doors to each house are open, and I can see the families inside. One little girl notices me singing and dancing. She laughs and walks out of her house towards me.

The whole neighborhood soon follows suit. Families flock out of their houses and follow me down the road. They are all smiling, laughing, and sharing in my happiness. I am in excellent spirits.... until I turn around and find out that all of the people have suddenly become zombies!

I stop for a moment, stunned at the abrupt change in mood. Of course, this would happen. When do I ever have non-threatening DC's in my lucids?

Since I had not been suspicious of the initial crowd of people, they are already too close for me to simply run away. Three of them are already trying to grab a hold of me, and I've fallen to the ground! I kick them as hard as I can in the head; they fall, but are still coming after me. I manage to get to my feet and start to run.

The zombies are still really close to me. One zombie girl reaches out to me... I suddenly realize that she is a normal human, pretending to be a zombie so that they won't get her. She grabs my arm and pulls me away from the hoarde.

We run together into the woods, quickly putting distance between us and the undead. "I have a gun if things get really bad," she tells me.

"What's your name?" I ask her.

"I'm Torrie," she says. "Or Annie."

"Wait, is it Torrie or Annie?" I ask, confused.

      "Yes."

I pause. "Um, okay. I'm Lola."

We end up on a very narrow path in the woods that has a fence on either side. We stop running. Everything has gone completely silent. "I don't like the looks of this," I whisper. "Maybe you should get out your gun."

Suddenly, a creepy voice rings through the air. "You have enroached too far into the hunting ground."

Torrie or Annie looks at me, clearly scared. Suddenly all manner of undead animals are quickly coming down the path toward us. "We have to go over the fence!" she cries out.

"Alright, you first." I help her over the fence. In the few seconds it takes to get her over, the animals are already at my feet. "Help me! Shoot them or something!" But Torrie or Annie is in shock or something and isn't moving. I stomp the animals' heads into the ground and quickly climb over. "Why didn't you help me?" I demand.

Then I see the state she is in. She's curled into a little ball, crying uncontrollably. Alarmed, I pull her into a hug. "Hey, don't cry. It's gonna be okay. Don't worry, I'll get us out of here." Since she is completely unresponsive, I pick her up and carry her. We end up in a small abandoned building, where I sit down and try to calm her.

I have a false awakening and am no longer lucid. Now I am outside of my old house with my dad and brother. The ground is frozen, and I am barefoot.

We walk to the back road; it is still apparent that we are under threat of zombies. On the road, there are weird tree and stick sculptures in the shape of people scattered about. Suddenly, we hear a weird sound. I realize it's coming from a huge metal tower in the middle of the briar patch to the right. In a booming voice from the tower, someone begins reciting the Lord's Prayer.

All of the sculptures come to life and begin reciting the prayer as well. The stick sculptures are carrying some kind of pamphlet and start jabbing me with them. I tell my dad and brother to run.

I manage to evade the creepy sculptures, but we have become separated. It is hard to walk properly, because I keep sliding on patches of ice. Eventually, I come to a place that looks like where I'd been before my false awakening. "Torrie!" I shout, hoping to find her again. "Annie?"

I walk into a nearby building and find her standing there. "L-Lola. It's you," she cries in relief. I run up to her and hug her close to me.

"Thank god I found you," I whisper, holding her against me. "I was worried that something might have happened." All I want to do is to sit there and hold her, but I hear some suspicious noises outside.

When I look out, two men are holding my dad and brother at gun point. One of them, who has a huge rifle. Walks up to us. "Well, well, well," he says creepily. "I think I'm gonna take you two young ladies as my wives." I give him an evil look, but he puts the gun to my back and marches us forward.

"I'll never let you take us," I growl at him.

"Oh really? And what are you going to do about it?" He turns and shoots my dad in the head. He falls to the ground, dead.

Enraged, I manage to get Torrie's gun from her bag and I shoot both men. One goes down instantly, but the man with the rifle laughs at me, even though he has clearly been shot in the head. "Well, you clearly have good gun skills, but can you---" I shoot him again. He is still alive, and laughing. I give the gun to Torrie, thinking she might have better luck. He just won't die!

      I wake up shortly afterwards.
