    1. Frag Factory

by , 11-14-2014 at 01:34 PM (Lucid Time!)
Something to do with my college drawing class, though we were in the classroom from my high school chemistry class. There is a guy in there wearing a furry costume of a blue- er well it looked like a cross between a rabbit and a gorilla and it was creepy. He had a microphone inside it that made his voice really loud and distorted it. It scared the crap out of me and everyone in the class. The teacher asked him to take the head off.

I was then at the food court by my dorm at my college. For some reason all of the boys there are naked. (A strange reversal on the standard nudity dream.) Supposedly they were a part of some confidence building team and learning how to make friends and function in society. The court is also more like a grocery store than a food court with restaurants. They are filming this commercial for their barbecue pork.

Something to do with my friend S.

I was watching this ATLA episode. It is supposed to be about technology. In it the characters have this saddle that unfolds into a pagoda that goes on Appa's back. Toph also finds this fire nation weapon that looks like a rifle but shoots these little cherry bombs, and because of her blindness doesn't know how to aim it properly and almost shoots other members of the group. She then becomes all psycho using the gun and her earthbending to try to take everyone out.

I am not Toph! I am Melon Lord!

    2. Triple Lucid Night (LD #134, #135, #136)

by , 11-13-2014 at 01:32 PM (Lucid Time!)
Now this is what I'm talking about!

A nonlucid dream about a story somewhat paralleling Jack and the giant Beanstalk. I am with this boy who must climb this massive, twisty tree trunk like tower through this cloudy, foggy sky.
I became lucid in this and flew up the tower to observe him while he climbed. He was doing so rather quickly, jumping from platform to platform; the entire outside of the tower was covered in gnarled spikes and branches that could be used as platforms. The dark, stormy clouds seemed to be in layers. Lightning cracked all around me and the rain was coming down heavily. He eventually reached the top, above the clouds. The wind was blowing very strongly here it was hard for me to keep myself stable while flying. I landed atop the tower; we were basically in outer space now, with just a thin band of blue on the horizon and the sun, moon and stars ahead. The storm clouds below us seemed to be swirling, centered around the tower we were atop.
I grabbed onto a small ridge to fight the wind. I was correct in the fact that the tower was made out of a wooden material.
The boy had no trouble standing up while I was squinting to look into the wind and see him. He was a big, chunky boy but looked young, younger than me, and had either orange or blonde hair, I can't remember. He turned to me and thanked me for giving him the chance to climb the tower, and then rocketed off into space on a golden flame.
The scenario repeated at least once. In one other version, he failed to reach the top of the tower.

Something to do with parking an airplane at the airport. I passed through a narrow area between two buildings and I was afraid that the wings would not fit, but somehow they did.

Something to do with purchasing an absurdly small container of chocolate milk at the airport convince store.

Something to do with the fact that a PG rated movie isn't allowed to kill more than two people.

I am walking with my family on the path by our house when this blonde girl runs by. While running, she tells me that I am in fact dreaming.
I turn and say something to myself about how gravity only exists if I want it to. Flying on, let's go.
I begin buzzing around the general area, impressing my family and what not for awhile. I flew between some tree branches and power lines. I recall my foot brushing up against one of the power lines, I was afraid that I might get shocked but then remembered that I wasn't grounded.
I eventually decided to see how far I could take my flying. I looked into the clear blue sky and saw the moon. Oh, yeah, I'm going there! I began heading up, and at first I was moving very slowly. Once I got above about 200 feet I started accelerating very rapidly, making a sort of jet turbine sound. A shock cone forms around me as I break the atmosphere and look back to earth. I can see the curve of the planet below me.
I try to recall the first lucid dream where the boy flew away from the edge of space and do the same thing. I begin to rocket toward the moon

      ...
Dangit. Somehow I forgot what happened. The dream ended with me becoming some sort of lucid dreaming superhero, like superman in New York. I had a sealed apartment on the top floor of a building that could only be accessed by me flying. I was currently working on stocking the fridge and pantry with dream-food.

I am a part of this plot about a secret society of fuel miners. They have lived underground inside of a mountain mining this rare fuel and selling it to buyers on the surface world. There is this scene where about four guys managed to escape though ore chutes in the main compound. The leader of the group drops a bomb down the chutes but when it explodes it doesn't bring them back up, it just pushes them along faster.
A brute of a man moves a decommissioned mining robot and blocks the ore chutes so that nobody can escape.
The miners live in this mall-like underground area, mostly constructed of scrap metal. They have a whole society with a school, doctor, barber, and stores. All of their supplies are earned by trading with the upstairs world.
The leader manages to find someone who was in on the escape in the med bay. The would-be escapee fibbed that his injuries were from a mining accident. The leader character was angry with him to say the least. He grabbed the injured man by the jaw and started asking him questions about where the others went.
      ...
Meanwhile, I am with Marcus and this female DC. She wears square glasses, like Marcus but has long black hair in a ponytail and all of this backpacking equipment. She is a local guide who is going help Marcus find this fuel-mining society. And of course I'm there because... reasons. We are in the parking lot of a chuck-e-cheese in a small desert town supposedly not far from the underground mine. The female DC takes out a hologram device.
"Now then, we have reason to believe that the center of their operations is about four clicks east... probably in a natural lava tube system...."
She continues showing through a hologram how fuel deposits have emptied in the years and surface drilling companies have not come across any fuel where there should be.
"There was 1100 units of fuel directly below us, but in 2003, it just vanished. My theory, underground miners selling to the highest bidder." Look how the cave collapses in 2007, four years later."
We strike out, and of course the first thing we have to do is climb a plateau. We start climbing, and the only one who is getting anywhere is the guide chic. Marcus is struggling. I'm struggling.
We were about halfway to the top when the guide chic made it. She started urging us to hurry up and for some reason this made me
lucid. I let go of the cliff and started flying up to the top. When I reached the top, I told myself Marcus would appear in 3...2...1. And just then he climbs up the top of the cliff.
I look out over the desert and the small town at the base of the plateau. Its hot. Clear day. I've never felt that much heat in a dream. I should do a scene change to someplace where I can beat the heat.
It doesn't take much, now I am on a beach, but with red desert sand. I am on a small, crescent shaped island with a dormant volcano on one end and a large beach populated with dream characters.
Marcus and the girl continue on their quest to find this society as if nothing has changed. I tell them that I am going to fly off on my own devices. I run towards the water and think of the previous LD where I was flying. I manage to 'catch' for about five seconds before I fall into the ocean.
Sooo good in the heat of the dream sun though!
I get out of the water. I can't see Marcus or his guide anymore. I somehow spot Manei out of the crowd of people on the beach, asleep on a towel, and run over to her, recalling everything I have to do with her.
She must have been asleep because she didn't stir until I got close. She sat up and lowered her sunglasses. (Note: Manei wears often sunglasses when she blends into the background.) She looked really confused that I was there, lucid and standing in front of her.
"Come on, I have a lot to ask you..." I gestured my head to one side that we could walk away from the crowd.

Unfortunatley, My roommate wins the award for comedic timing. HIS ALARM WENT OFF RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT!!!

    3. Sandboarding, Sewer Monsters, Lucid Dreaming Fighters, Dream Art

by , 11-12-2014 at 07:00 PM (Lucid Time!)
I had yet another short lucid early in the night and forgot it. I'm beginning to question what the heck is going on here. Why does this keep happening to me?

I was with a couple of faceless dream friends sandboarding down a large hill on pieces of scrap metal. The hill seemed to be on a treadmill of sorts as in we didn't seem to be getting any closer to the bottom. The bottom of the hill led into the ocean.
Eventually we began seeing the stumps of long-dead trees and we had to dodge them. The scene became like a video game and we were trying to dodge the stumps as they came at us faster and faster. There were also angled stumps that you could go off of like ramp to get more points.
      ...
This somehow led to a dream about a town at the bottom of the sand dune. Some story involving a young boy with spiky black hair named Tarek. I think he was a character in an anime.
There was something to do with sewer monsters involved. I can recall these red and black venus-fly-trap-like creatures living in the sewers that he was responsible for killing or befriending. I think he ended up getting eaten or captured and his boss had to come save him and was angry for failing at his duties.
      ...
Some other dreams about being on the beach at the bottom of the never-ending sand dune. Manei was there. They were very long and I can't exactly recall what happened. I think they might be old dreams that were triggered by this one.

Me and S were on a bus. We both had laptops. S stated that he had decided to join me on Dreamviews, but he wanted to read thorugh my dream journal. For some reason I didn't want him reading that sex dream that I entered a month or two back, and I was frantically trying to take it off of my page. I messaged an admin asking to hard-delete it.
S commented that many of my dreams were very interesting and he asked me why I hadn't told him about these.
S, despite having just made an account, somehow already had this chibi anime character set as his avatar. The style of it actually looked something like the artwork that I am going to upload at the end of this dream journal entry.
      ...
The bus ride dropped us off by my old middle school. The two of us began walking along the path heading to my house. It was a cloudy day, actually raining a little bit, and for a non-lucid dream, it seemed unusually vivid. I also saw that the woods next to the middle school had been flattened and all of the trees broken. I asked S if he knew what had happened. He told me that there were a couple of lucid dreamers fighting, and that he had seen them going at it earlier this morning.
Just then a couple of 'lucid dreamers' showed up. Both of them male. One was just wearing a pair of shorts and had a very muscular physique. The other wore a long black assassin cloak and was hovering above the ground. The buff one picked up a log and leaped into the air swinging it at the assassin character. He made a fire wheel and cut through it. he retaliated by forming some ice spikes with the rain and flinging them back. The buff dreamer got impaled but he broke the spikes out of his chest and regenerated.
He lunged into melee range and the two had a DBZ style fight. The buff guy used earthbending to send some rocks after the cloak guy. He shot back fire spikes/drills. The fight broke down into a long interlude sequence that I forgot.
S stated that he was surprised that they were still fighting, thinking that by now one of them would have won. He said something very quote-able about how people always take fights and competition too far.

I questioned how lucid dreamers could be fighting in the 'real' world. There was some kind of faulty logic going on here, something to do with the fact that these people were actually asleep somewhere and OOB, but their lucid dreaming selves had somehow manifested in the physical world. I kept asking S questions about what was going on and he was trying to explain it logically. I started to become lucid when I woke up.

Good recall and lucidity, considering I went to bed at around midnight with little intention of lucid dreaming.

I guess I'm still a little off my game.

There was a lucid down there last night, albeit a short one. Forgot it though.

A NLD involving being at this country restaurant with some friends. They had a gift shop that was selling gameboys for one dollar and I thought about getting one along with one of the old Pokemon games. There was also something to do with an eating contest.

    5. Another Mars Mission, LD #133

by , 11-10-2014 at 01:53 PM (Lucid Time!)
Yet another mars mission dream. In this one, three spacecraft came down to the surface of mars. Two of them had malfunctions and were unable to take off so everybody had to pile into the third spacecraft. The captain of the mission flew everyone off safely in his; the smallest spacecraft.
For some reason there were a bunch of Minecraft Trees on mars while he was taking off. There was also this large pyramid made out of red stone that they flew past.
When they returned to earth, the Captain was in an airplane hangar giving a speech about what inspired him to bravely fly everyone on one spacecraft. He showed a cartoon drawing that a girl had given him in middle school of a space captain punching an alien in the face. It had some quote about courage and being brave that I cannot recall now. The girl that gave him that sketch was his crush in middle school but she had died due to leukemia.

I found myself in the car with my mom driving. I was already fully lucid. I instantly went to my goal; my questions for Manei. We were pulling into my subdivision so I told myself that Manei would be at my house when we got there.
I began saying to myself "I'm dreaming." My mom asked me why I was saying that. I told her that this was my lucid dream and that I was on a mission to find my dream guide and ask her some things. I began rubbing my hand on the inside of the car, feeling the leather and stabilizing the dream.
When I pulled up to the house there was nobody outside. I told myself that Manei would appear when I got inside the house. We got out of the car and I looked around. Certainly not the clearest and most stable lucid dream I had seen. It was a cloudy, overcast day and the dream was a bit hazy. But definitely par.
I go inside, and she's nowhere to be seen. Just my dad in there. I decide to take the DawnEye approach and call her on the phone. Just then the phone rings and I pick it up.
      "Hello?"
      "It's me."
...I'd know that voice in any dream.
      "Where are you?"
"I'm at Marcus' house. I didn't expect you to get lucid tonight."

My dad took the phone away from me in a rather rude way and started talking to her. He seemed really cranky and, in a rather rude way started asking her who she was and what she was doing talking to me. I could hear Manei on the other end, she got all giggly and didn't respond.
I looked around for another way I could possibly manifest/find her. The dream ended. (I didn't wake up, the dream ended.)

I got some pretty awesome synth beats in dream music while I was waking up. They didn't last very long though.
    6. Recurring Lucid Anxiety Dreams

by , 11-09-2014 at 02:56 PM (Lucid Time!)
I recall being in a cycle last night. With every sleep cycle I had a cookie-cutter anxiety dream, and in all of them I became partially lucid and changed the dream scenario in order to stop the dream from creating any stress.

I recall one having to do with me having to write an essay. I manifested one in my hand before slipping back into nonlucidity.

Another had to do with me being late for a class. While lucid I gave myself two extra hours.

Yet another had to do with a violent storm fast-approaching my house.
      I think I redirected it.

There was one having to do with D. He was for some reason sleeping on an air mattress in the middle of our room. My parents were involved somehow, and no lucidity in this one.

The final dream was blurry. I remember I was trying to get these long metal rods out from under my bed. I know I became lucid here, but I can't remember what the heck was going on.

Not counting any of these as lucids though because recall was so bad.
    7. Avatar and Avengers, Late for School, Tiny Laptop

by , 11-08-2014 at 02:34 PM (Lucid Time!)
Some dream where my laptop computer was really tiny. It was supposed to be waterproof now too, and I was using it while in the shower. It turned off, and I thought that the water had killed it.
I got out of the shower, got dressed, went into my bedroom, and plugged it in. It turned on, but it seemed sort of glitchy. Marcus told me to wait a minute. I then tried turning it on again. Turns out it hadn't been damaged by the water, it was just low on battery.

I FA'd. I was in my college dorm room and realized that I was an hour late for a class that was taking place in the library.
      ...
For some reason I was waiting at the bus stop. It was a rainy, foggy day. I did a reality check because this seemed like a dream. It didn't work though.

I was observing this dream where the Hulk and the Hulkbuster armor were fighting. It looked just like the trailer. (See the Age of Ultron trailer) Thor was involved in the fight as well. At one point the Hulkbuster suit was using Thor's hammer. It was glowing red.
      ...
Korra and Aang (Yes, Both Avatars) Joined the fight. They used earthbending to attack the Hulkbuster suit. Black widow, Captain America and Batman came into the fight. The fight grew very chaotic and I recall having trouble figuring out who was on who's team.
      ...
Something to do with Tony Stark building this weird Iron Man suit with a giant head. It had two small eyes going up vertically the front of the mask. The suit malfunctioned and broke his neck.
      ...
I was in this huge log cabin mansion built in the woods. All of the characters from both Avatar series were in here, and they looked like real people. Meelo wanted to teach me how to airbend.

Batman: So awesome he shows up even when everyone else is Marvel and he is DC.
    8. Chased By Government, Morpheus Bodyguard (LD #132)

by , 11-07-2014 at 12:25 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was a female reporter for some kind of news agency who had gotten some serious dirt on the US government and they had sent some secret service agents to try and stop me from leaking the word. I was working with this man who looked and dressed just like Morpheus from the matrix movies. I think he was my bodyguard or something.
The funny part was as we were being chased by these guys he was piggy-back-riding me around. We were in a park area but there were many tall buildings around. Somebody pointed out that a speck in the sky was actually just the space station. My vision zoomed in and I could see four large solar panels coming off of it.
He continued running with me on his back. A couple of tranquilizer darts flew past us. I can recall this funny looking helicopter was being used to chase us, with a sniper in it firing the darts. It didn't have a tail or any stabilization. it was just a pod with a big propeller on it. I looked at it and realized that it wouldn't be able to fly, and it crashed.
Eventually we somehow created this portal on the ground and jumped through it.
      ...
We wound up in this beautiful sanctuary area; some kind of virtual reality or alternate dimension. There were these shallow concrete pyramids with waterfalls running down the sides and various plants and flowers planted in the steps. There was a huge lake; in fact, I think we were on an island. But you could see mountains in the distance. There were also many tall deciduous trees with brightly colored leaves. Everything was tinted autumn colors. (Reds, Oranges, Yellows, Browns). Even the sky was tinted orange.
The Morpheus man told me that the government agents could still find us here, but it was probably safe to rest for the night. He told me to gather wood from the forest so that we could make a fire.
I recall walking into the woods. I see a orange Chinese dragon, about fifteen or twenty feet long flying in the woods, weaving its serpentine body through the trees. It blends well with the leaves, but I'm certain that it's there.
      ...

I became lucid. I changed myself out of the female reporter guise. I decided to summon Manei for our sit down question time that I've been visualizing. I yelled for her name, and heard her yell back. I looked and standing about a hundred feet into the autumnal forest, I could vaguely make her out.
"Manei, I have some questions for you!"
"Hurry up, the dream is about to end!"
"How come if it's my dream, I can't picture what happens and make it happen?" (I was trying to ask her why my visualization doesn't work.)
"Because you didn't like your cookie from 300 years ago!"
      I woke up.

      Typical Manei logic...

When I do get my long conversation dream, I should ask her why half the time she makes sense and the other half she says totally random things like that.

I went back to sleep; it was still quite early. I think it yielded a Nonlucid dream, but I cannot recall it.
    9. Frags

by , 11-06-2014 at 02:44 PM (Lucid Time!)
I recall being in a city/urban area, encountering Manei and becoming briefly lucid. We started flying out over the ocean that was next to the city, supposedly to a location where we could talk. But I woke up a few moments later.

I recall being with my cousins. For some reason they are both swearing a lot and that is weird because they are young (11 and 14) and don't normally cuss. I can recall we were playing in the backyard of my house together.
We somehow got to this unrecognizable house that felt like it was in an urban area. My deceased grandmother was there making cookies for us. I can recall playing littlebigplanet with the younger of my cousins and using this paper material to make Chinese lanterns.

I then recall playing Halo with my older cousin. This felt like an entirely separate dream. I was an elite and I had a sniper rifle and a BR. This felt like an older Halo game, like Halo 3 or even Halo 2.
We began fighting. It was a typical Red vs Blue game in this map that was set in a ravine in the desert; a map that I don't recall from the game.
Thanks to faulty dream-remembering-numbering, my sniper rifle seemed to have unlimited ammo and (even though I suck with snipers in games) I was just firing like crazy killing people with body shots. I then recall walking through this cave in the side of a ravine, dropping down behind him and assassinating a guy.
Funny. Assassinations were added in the new Halo, but graphically and game-play wise this felt like and older Halo. Well, it was a dream, so. My cousin was complaining that I wasn't supporting the team. I told him that I was doing great and haven't even died once yet. He got looked at the scoreboard and got jealous that I had 11 kills and haven't died and he rage-quit the game, leading to me waking up.

There were a couple of sludgy frags of us playing on this ice map with these bright green characters everywhere. I played horribly that game.

    10. Quickie Frag+Side Notes

by , 11-05-2014 at 01:08 PM (Lucid Time!)
I recall I was driving from my house to my Taekwondo Class. I Somehow wound up going backwards through the parking lot in my old middle school. There was this very strange network of roads and a whole bunch of stop signs.
I was being tailgated by someone driving a green Jeep. At one point I saw a stop sign and slammed on the breaks, for some reason the car sort of skidded sideways. When I came to a stop I backed up and I thought I heard my car scraping against the car behind me.
"Rrrgh! I just wanted to go to Taekwondo! Why do I have to put up with this?!"
I get out to see if there is damage. The person driving the green jeep was Manei. (Whatever, no lucidity. I'm on break.) I examine both cars and there seems to be no damage, though there are some spots on her car where the paint is chipped. They are filled with rust though.
"You've got some paint chips but they aren't fresh."
We somehow got into a discussion about how the car I drive belongs to my dad is on a lease. She asked me what a lease was, and I explained it as 'borrowing' a car and you pay for it. She proudly proclaims that her mom bought her the green jeep.
She then goes off into telling me that she's going to the beach and wants me to come with her. Then says something about making cookies with her mother. She takes a big plate of sugar cookies out of the back seat of her car.

(I know these last few DJ entries have been side-note-heavy...) But I was thinking about this after I woke up. One of the things that I never noticed about Manei is that she is very dissonant. She doesn't seem to have a very clear understanding of how the waking world works.
She also doesn't seem to know me very well. In that I mean, she only knows me by what I've done in dreams. (Lucid or not) but she doesn't seem to understand exactly what I want out of lucid dreaming, or my life experience in general. Perhaps that's something that I should discuss with her.
I used to think that she lived 'inside my head' and would know everything about me, and know everything that I know about the waking world. I suppose not.

    11. Opposites Detract

by , 11-05-2014 at 08:58 AM (Lucid Time!)
Of course as soon as I go on break something interesting happens.

      A little background:
About a year ago, my friend S and I wrote a story. In the story I came up with this character named Raiah. She was basically this bull-headed, immature cyborg girl who would solve all of her problems with a rocket launcher and had two true loves: Food and Music. Originally she was supposed to be just a one-time character but S and I loved her so much that we kept her in the story until she basically became the main character.
At one point, we wanted to start a Youtube LP channel and I was supposed to play games in her character. S played as another character. But we soon discovered that we enjoyed simply playing games in character and didn't give a crap about the YouTube channel.

I recall being in my dorm room with my roommate and S. I am non-lucid but I am thinking to myself that for some reason I want to manifest Raiah in my next lucid dream when I go to sleep. I am working on my computer on this amazing realistic picture of her character, beyond my artistic abilities IWL.
For some reason there are three cans of Nos energy drink on my desk, and I decide to drink all of them. (Now I've never had any of those hardcore energy drinks IWL, because one cup of coffee, and I'm up all night. I'm scared to know what three cans of a potent energy drink would do to me.) I recall drinking them very clearly though. They are tangy and sweet, sort of like the flavor of Gatorade.
I try to recall my motivation for drinking them, but cannot. I notice that they don't seem to have much of an effect on me. I don't seem to be getting the jitters or anything.
I begin to notice how strange the situation is.
      ...
I can't recall most of what happened. Most of it were just my attempts to manifest Raiah. I was non-lucid of course.
      ...
I can recall some flashes that were more akin to my waking daydreams rather than sleeping dreams. They involved her character sitting next to S's character playing video games. It looked like a cartoon.
      ...

I recall the ending though. I was semi lucid, back at the beach resort with Manei. The place looks off though. The building has been duplicated and there are now four of them with a central courtyard in the middle, that kind of looks like the quad from my college, except there are palm trees in it.
      It is a dark night.
She was telling me that she didn't want me manifesting this character into my dream world because Raiah would be a distraction from me learning how to lucid dream.
And then she said, possibly the funniest thing I have ever heard her say.
"If I was Sonic the Hedgehog, Raiah would be that stupid talking fox that never does anything..."
"Tails? Isn't he like really smart? He builds planes and stuff?"
You can ignore this dialogue. I put it in because it was funny, but I don't think Manei has half a clue about anything in the gaming world...
I recall looking to the sky and seeing some very odd hovercraft fly across. It had four orange glowing circles on it that I thought were some kind of anti-gravity discs or something.

I began to become fully lucid and realized that, while conscious I had no reason to manifest this character into my dreams. I had probably just subconsciously manifested her by accident. Manei was right. This character would be nothing more than a distraction for me.
There was some other aspect to this that passes through my head, though. Manei and Raiah were supposed to be like opposite characters in my dreams. Maybe there is something I could learn from this...

I wake up. At freaking 2 in the morning. I try to get back to sleep, but I can't.

    12. Gas Station Lucid+Side notes

by , 11-04-2014 at 02:44 PM (Lucid Time!)
Another sludgy dream last night. The clarity is picking up a little, but not much. I'm sort of on a dry spell. I was driving with S to my college and I pulled over and made S get out because we were running low on gas.
I then drove about half a mile to a gas station, and pulled up. I was ready to pump the gas and realized that I had to go pee. I was also thinking that I should go back and get S where I left him, by the side of the road.
I went into the gas station and in the bathroom, for some reason, there was no toilet, just a large PVC pipe sticking out of the floor. The gas station was doing maintenance or something, and I figured It was where the toilet was supposed to attach, and that I could just do my business in it.
So I'm doing my thing and I realize that this situation is actually rather absurd, so I start reality checking. For some reason it takes two nose pinches and a host mental questions for me to properly become
lucid. When I became lucid, I realized that if I was having dreams about peeing, that I might have to get up and go to the bathroom, otherwise I could wet the bed. So, I simply woke myself up.

Well I didn't have to go to the bathroom in WL. Kind of wasted a lucid there.

I was thinking about something on the drive to college. When I started lucid dreaming, three and a half years ago, my goal was nightly lucidity. I would sometimes say to myself that I wanted to 'become' a natural lucid dreamer. To be honest that is still my goal, and I getting closer. I have about one lucid dream a week now, and no shortage of close calls and partially lucid moments in-between. I'm really not that far off from my goal, but there is still work to be done.
Late October was a good time for me, and now I seem to be in a bit of a slump. Probably due to stress in WL. I was thinking about holding off on lucid dreaming a little bit this next week or so, letting the dry spell blow over and focusing more on issues in waking life. Because for me to be truly happy, both my waking life and my dream life have to exist harmoniously. So I might be a little less active in this next week or two. By no means will I stop posting, but I might only log on once a day to lay out a quick nonlucid DJ entry.
Back on the topic of my nightly lucidity goal. I was thinking about how all too often I forget that I shouldn't just be focused on the end result, but perhaps the journey along the way, too. This hasn't always been an easy mindset to have for lucid dreaming. To me, I always thought of 'completing one level before moving onto the next'. By that I mean, attaining nightly recall before I started practicing lucid techniques. Then, attaining nightly lucidity before practicing stabilization techniques. Then, I with a consistent means to lucid dream, I could learn stabilization and dream control with no shortage of windows to practice. But that isn't the way it's happened for me, or anybody else. I've been developing all of those skills little by little. So I'm going to try and change my mindset; lucid dreaming is an adventure to be had, in all of its stages.

More sludgy dreams last night. I'm kinda going on break while this dry spell blows over.

-Something to do with living in Texas. An atomic bomb went off and destroyed our house. Somehow I survived unharmed and tried to make my way out of the irradiated area. I encountered this Asian man fishing by a river, who said that he could help decontaminate the radiation from me.

-I went back in time. I was in a government building trying to stop the bomb launch. I was fighting this secret service agent who was like 80 years old but a really good fighter. He kept on throwing glass bottles at me. I was barefoot for some reason and trying not to step on the glass.
The fight ended with the man smiling at me and saying something like "You don't truly know someone until you've fought them..."

Many a nonlucid dream last night. I'm not feeling very motivated to go into detail for all of these nonlucids. so I'll just go over the key points.

-A dream involving my unexpected sex change and brief lucidity.

-A dream involving my high school friends and college suite-mates engaged in a 2:00am eating contest. The university campus was full of neon signs.

-A dream involving a scavenger hunt on a post-apocalyptic version of my college campus. Everything was overgrown by a jungle and some of the buildings had collapsed.

-A dream where I was playing LittleBigPlanet attempting to make some kind of scrap-metal cage.

-A lot of dreams involving water for some reason.

-In one dream I was kyaking.

-In another dream, I was watching a documentary about a man who would swim inside of a whale's mouth and then get blasted out of the blow-hole.

-In another dream, there was a large water cannon that people would load small children into and fire them into a lake. It looked very dangerous but the children seemed to love it.

-A dream about a water fight with absurdly big water guns and tiny water balloons.

-A dream that I was vacationing in Sydney, Australia and a tsunami hit. I later became involved in a tsunami prevention group and I was telling them about how they could install sensors and a wall that would automatically rise up when a tsunami was approaching.

    15. Give me my Chocolate Chip Muffin! LD #129 (sort of)

by , 11-01-2014 at 01:14 PM (Lucid Time!)
I was with S at college. We were walking around campus in the evening hours. I can recall it being around 6:00. S said he had to go home, and I wanted to run to this bakery place before it closed at 6:20. Also, it was Halloween in the dream and everybody was wearing costumes. I think I was dressed up as Minecraft Steve; I was wearing a turquoise shirt and purple pants. S was dressed up as some anime character and had this huge spikey blue wig.
We parted ways and I headed to the bakery. It was underneath the building next to my dorm in this huge complex that is not there IWL. I went inside and got in line at the bakery. The clock read 6:19 and you could tell the place was closing down. But there were a few other people that wanted to drop by before they closed.
I asked the woman behind the counter if I could have the last chocolate chip muffin and some milk. She said 'sure' and handed me both of the items. I then waited for two other people to check out before it was my turn.
I gave my ID to the guy at the checkout so I could pay. For some reason he just took it and held it above the slot without swiping it. After about fifteen seconds he sarcastically said:
"Ooops! It's 6:21. Were closed now! Sorry! We can't give you this!" The lady behind the counter and another DC worker, a tall blonde guy who was wiping down tables both started laughing at me. I stormed out of the bakery vowing never to do business there again.
I walked outside and up this big hill that isn't there IWL. I took note of how floaty gravity seemed to be. I kept on jumping up and swimming through the air for a few feet before drifting back down.
This prompted me to preform a nose pinch. Now I became lucid, but I still felt like I wasn't all there.
Primarily because I turned around and went back to the bakery. One way or another I was gonna get my muffin from these guys. I got back to the door and pulled on it. Locked.
I see the three dream characters still inside; the bakery had metal and glass doors with floor-to-ceiling windows. The cashier guy was standing around eating my muffin and drinking my milk. The tall guy was still cleaning tables, and the woman was putting what was left of the day's goods. (A couple of bagles) into boxes. The three saw me standing outside me and started laughing again.
Oh man was I getting ticked off by these three. I tore the metal and glass door off its hinges and threw it into the road. They stopped laughing.
I walked over to the cashier guy and punched him in the gut. I heard a thunderclap sound and the guy went flying backwards into the wall. He then fell into a couple of tables and chairs. The other two dream characters took off running.
I walked over to the cashier and looked down at him.
      ...

For some reason me and him were sitting together at a table. He had a bandage around his head.
"Look dude, I'm sorry... about everything. I didn't know you were..."
      "I don't forgive you."
      "What?! why?"
"Because I know you're not saying that because you are sorry. You're only saying it because now you realize that I can hurt you. Next time, be more careful who you mess with. You never know who might give you a bad day."
I turned and walked out. The dream faded.
