    1. 02/27/11 Dream Demon Assassins

by , 02-28-2011 at 06:05 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      Nightmare Changes
I am in a strange place, I look around to see where I am. It is a wide open plane that looks pretty desolate, the sky is a strange color of orange with some strange wispy clouds floating around up there. It is a strange looking place, but for some reason this doesn't make me lucid.

So I search around for a while to see if I can figure out what's going on. I soon find a couple of people in the vast area. One of them is familiar to me, my first thought is that it is Nomad. He is there with someone else, I somehow know that one is a dream demon. Nomad and the dream demon are exchanging heated words. The dream demon is laughing at Nomad, saying he can never die. Nomad doesn't take the dream demon seriously, he says he knows the dream demon can't die, so how about if the dream demon has no ability to stay together and suddenly exists everywhere but is unable to do anything… eternal pain. The dream demon looks shocked at that idea, seems to be afraid of it. He says please don't do that… then he starts changing form repeatedly into an array of twisted and deformed forms, and he is doing it really quickly. I hear the demon say he won't let it happen, then he self destructs, exploding in a blinding flash of light. When the light fades everything else has changed, too.

Now we are in a bright green and sunny place that looks like paradise. Something still seems wrong. I search around and find one of the shadows of a tree is much darker than others. I approach the shadow and it comes to life, this is the dream demon. Witchblade forms into a sword and I cut the thing in half before it can attack me, though it is about to do so. After the dream demon is gone everything around me fades to black.

      Déjà Vu
I am in a room watching a television display, there is a sequence of action going on there. The scene is a fancy dinner, there is a man at the head of the table, I know he is a notorious terrorist, responsible for the deaths of thousands. He is making a toast to a plan he has going on that will kill thousands more, he says no one will ever forget or underestimate the Crimson Knights again. I see myself at the table eating, I pick up my glass of wine and toast the asshole's health… then I add that I hope he enjoyed it before throwing two daggers at the same time. Both of the daggers strike lethal points on the asshole, one in the heart, one right in the jugular. He collapses onto the table and then falls to the side onto the floor, pulling a large amount of things onto the floor with him. Then the scene shifts, and now I really am at the table, I really am at the dinner. Everyone is talking and eating, I see some chocolate treats and I eat a couple. The terrorist leader gets up and proposes his toast. After he gets up and begins his toast, everyone else is toasting his good health. I have the daggers, but can I really throw them effectively? I know I can, because I already saw myself do it! I get up and make the comment I saw myself make on the video, then I throw the daggers, and he collapses just like in the video. Everyone is in shock, staring between me and the man who just collapsed, so I take advantage of the confusion to make my exit. I head to the nearest window, we are on what appears to be the third floor. I grab hold of some fancy curtains, and jump out the window, the curtains gradually unravel until I land on the ground, rather hard, but not too bad. I am making my exit from the area when I wake.

      Déjà Vu Vu
I am at what looks like a festival of some kind, there are lots of people who seem to be very happy and celebrating something. I'm not sure what they are celebrating, but I also think this is not that important. There is someone there with me, I think it is Altaïr. We are looking for some people that we know are looking to kill someone, we are trying to make sure the killing doesn't happen. I see some people walking around, but there aren't very many that seem to stand out at all. And the ones that do don't stand out in any suspicious way. I know who we are looking for, and those are not the right people. I finally spot the targets, there are a few men in red and black robes, those are the killers. There are three of them, I need to make sure they don't see me, because they will surely recognize me just as easily as I recognize them. I find Altaïr and I tell him I have found the targets. Now the two of us follow the enemies until they are in an isolated space where no one will notice what happens. It turns out they also knew we were there, now they're looking to eliminate us just as we are looking to get rid of them. They seem unaware that we know them, however, and we still manage to take them by surprise and get each of them with a quick strike. We move the bodies to a place where they won't be found for a long while before leaving the scene and merging back in with the crowd.

      Assassinate the Assassin
I am in a hotel with Altaïr, and we are looking for a specific room. I am looking at Altaïr for quite a few minutes before this finally seems odd enough to make me do a reality check. I discover I am dreaming. I look around the hotel and think about different goals. The only goal that comes to mind is the task for the LPTC that involves killing the person that killed Martin Luther King. I realize I have absolutely no memory of how this event really took place, I really am not sure how to make the task work. Since I don't know how the task is supposed to happen, I decide to go with my best estimation. I wonder if that will make a difference on whether or not it counts for the LPTC task. Well, either way, I can do the task this way. I make my way through the hotel looking for the killer, I come to one of the rooms and I see a man in the halls with a gun. He is also moving like he doesn't want to be seen. I move quietly up behind the man and get him from behind with my hidden blade. He falls to the ground, dead. I see there is another man breaking into a room. I have to get there in time to stop him from killing MLK, but it turns out I didn't need to worry. Altaïr is right behind him and takes him out before he can go anywhere. I look into the room the man was breaking into and I see that MLK is in the room coming in off of a balcony, he is looking at Altaïr and me with a strange look. I'm not sure what to say at this point, I finally tell him to keep believing, perhaps one day everyone will truly be seen as equal.

      Blood in the Water
I am at what looks like an amazing water park of some kind, it is a huge place, there are so many pools and waterfalls and rivers flowing around. There are many plants and flowers, it is definitely beautiful. But there are also killers roaming in the group, and I know they have to be stopped. There is someone else there with me, he is familiar to me… MoSh? I'm not sure if it is MoSh or not, just as I wasn't sure earlier if it was Nomad. But he is there helping me track down the killers in the water park. I know who I'm looking for, though I am thinking blending in at a water park and still having my hidden blade would be rather difficult. But it isn't… my hidden blade collapses into the size of a bracelet, which is my Witchblade, though I don't think of this at the time. MoSh is there with me, and we head off in separate directions. I know the killers when I see them, I'm not sure how I know this, but I am certain of it. I see there are certain people at the water park who are not there to have fun. I spot one, go casually over behind him, knife him with my hidden blade, then I walk casually away before he even collapses. I hear people behind me responding to the man's collapse, but I don't look back. I just keep going. I find another one in the men's locker room, he is the only one there. He looks over at me and seems to assume I followed him in there because I think he's hot… he is sooooo not hot. But I play along until I'm close enough to take him down. I go back outside and now I see MoSh, who is on the other side of the pool with his arm around a man like they're buddies. MoSh helps the man sit down in a chair and then leaves. It will be a while before anyone notices the man is actually dead. I see one of the killers is about to attack his target. There is no time to get over there before it's too late. I grab a knife from a table, it seems to be a knife used to cut steak, though it seems awfully big even for that… It is perfect for my needs, though. I pick up the knife and throw it at the man, it gets imbedded in the man's chest, killing him before he can attack his target.

      Killer Movies
I am outside of a movie theater with my mother, waiting in line to get a ticket for a movie. We get to the front of the line and she buys tickets for us to two different movies, but then she says we won't actually be going to the movies at all. The man in the box office seems to think we are nuts, but he doesn't care. My mother goes to one of the movies, I separate from her and go to the other. I have a job to do in there. I am lured to the concessions stand by the smell of fresh popcorn. I order some popcorn, momentarily distracted from my mission, and the woman behind the counter hands me a big bag of popcorn. I pay her and walk away, looking at the popcorn, dripping with butter… movie theater popcorn with loads of butter… yum… I am heading for the theater and munching on popcorn, then I start wondering how many points I'll have to count for this… probably a lot. I decide it doesn't matter, what I have to do in the theater is much more important. I head into the movie theater and search the seats until I find the person I am looking for. I know who he is. He is a serial killer, but there isn't enough evidence to arrest him. Now there he is enjoying the movie just like everyone else, and his after-movie activity probably involves torturing some woman to death. His MO… to tie the woman up and see how many times he can stab her with a pen knife and not kill her, because he seems to find it very rewarding to watch them bleed out. He takes his time, carefully planning out each stab, he seems to find each one like an intense sexual experience… I have the images of him making his kills playing out in my mind, talk about TMI, this was definitely TMI. The woman has long curly blonde hair, looks to be in her early 20's, the man is sitting on top of her, she is tied to the bed… he is caressing her with the blade and then suddenly plunges the blade in to her shoulder. She tries to scream but can't because she is gagged, though she is crying. I sit down in the seat directly behind the killer. An image of the man sinking his knife into the woman's abdomen… another muffled scream. Just to be sure, I tap the man on the shoulder and ask for the time. He curses at me and tells me to go have sexual relations with myself. The killer sinking his knife into the woman's thigh and cutting slowly, more muffled screams. Damn! I don't need to see this! The man is the killer. I use my hidden blade and kill him instantly. I leave him sitting in the seat at the movie, no one will know he's dead until I'm long gone.
    2. 02/22/11 Sleep In, Club Concert, Where's Draco?

by , 02-23-2011 at 01:59 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: The only plan I had made for today was to meet up with MoSh in a Hogwarts dream, though I really want to increase my lucidity and get my recall back to its normal rate. I really wish I knew why I have been having so many problems with that lately…

      Sleep In
It is time for me to go to bed, I have no idea that I am actually already in bed and dreaming. I am getting ready to lie down in bed when my mother comes into the room and asks me when I am going to be up the next morning. I tell her I'll probably be up at the usual time, of course. My mother says she wants to get going sooner than that. I don't remember where we are planning on going, but I am thinking it is somewhere really fun, and I definitely don't want to miss getting to do it. I tell my mother maybe I could get up a bit earlier than normal… My mother points at the clock and says it's only 11:30 at night, so if I sleep until my normal time, I'd be getting 12 hours of sleep! She says I really don't need to get 12 hours of sleep, do I? I agree that 12 hours is probably overdoing it, I tell her I'll get up around 10 instead, so it will only be around 10 hours of sleep. She seems to think this is still quite unreasonable, but she sighs with exasperation. She says if I can manage to get out of bed a bit sooner, please do, she really doesn't want to wait that late and might just end up leaving without me. This idea makes me a bit nervous, so I decide to set my alarm for 8:00 in the morning and settle for the usual 8 hours of sleep that is the recommended amount. I fall asleep in bed without even considering doing a RC at any point.

      Rock the House
I am going to a concert that takes place in a small club. There aren't that many people there to see the band, and I figure that is because the band rather sucks. There are overly aggressive bouncers guarding the stage, maybe they are afraid someone will attack the band members for sucking so bad. One guy tries to get to the stage, though it looks like he is happy and wants to meet one of the band members rather than like he is hostile. Apparently someone likes the music. One of the bouncers grabs him, punches him hard in the gut, then drags him outside as he is gasping for breath. The bouncer throws him to the ground and shuts the door before returning to his post. Wow… so violent… everyone else sits down in the seats to keep from having the bouncers attack. I really don't like this. On a hunch I do a RC and find out I'm dreaming. I fly from my seat and phase through the ceiling of the club, out into the open blue sky.

Ok, so now that I'm lucid, I need to decide what to do. I don't remember my goals… damn… but I do remember that in some of my lucids my dream control hasn't been as strong as it should be. So I fly over the city and start practicing my dream skills. I discover that anything I can focus on and visualize I can create. Of course I can, I am inside my own inner world… it is entirely under my control… I do things such as alter the forms of a couple buildings, I bring a statue to life. It is the statue of a horse that is about 50 feet tall, the horse gallops away, freaking out all of the DCs in its path. I instinctively can tell that all of the people around there are DCs rather than real people. I fly over a park and spawn a huge and beautiful tree with large golden fruits growing on it, I pick one and eat it… it tastes like chocolate. Yay! Chocolate flavored fruit! A DC is beside the tree and staring at me with his jaw on the ground, it is an older man, I fly down over him and tell him if he's going to have his mouth hanging open, put something yummy in it! I break off a piece of the fruit and stick it in the man's mouth where he doesn't even seem to notice it. I decide to go back to the concert to see if I can make it more interesting. I head back, and I find that for some reason there is now an iron grid around the club… where did that come from? No matter. I focus a circle of heat to soften the iron, then I rip out the circle of iron to create an entrance. Wow, that was easy! Inside, the same band is still sucking, most of the crowd have left. I use a puppet kind of control on the band members, my DCs, and I summon a guitar and join in. Now we rock! We play a song I don't think I have ever heard. But there's no one there to see it. I summon some more DCs to be the audience. For some reason the DCs that appear are dressed as if for a wedding. Weird… but no matter. I continue using the band DCs to accompany me as I play guitar and sing. It is fun.

      The Perfect Storm
I am in a castle like the one in Harry Potter, I am in Hogwarts. There are people around me, everyone seems to be rather huddled together, though I'm not sure why. They have everyone crammed into the great hall, all of the people from all of the houses, and this is creating more than a few arguments amongst the less friendly students. Mostly everyone is keeping to themselves, however, and the talk is mostly about a storm. I listen to some of them, then I go over to a window and look outside… and there sure is a storm out there, it looks like a serious blizzard. The wind is howling outside and looks like it must be blowing at hurricane force. I look beside me and I see MoSh is there. I ask what is going on out there, he says it's a major storm. No shit, Sherlock… I say it seems strange, where did it come from? MoSh says no one is sure, it is the worst storm Hogwarts has ever seen, and it came out of nowhere. The temperatures in most of the castle have plummeted to sub zero levels, there is no way the fires and such can keep things warm at all. The great hall has been placed under an enchantment to keep it warm, which is why everyone is here. Wow… that is one serious storm. I wonder if the storm is definitely natural.

I wander around the room more, I see Crabb and Goyle near another window, staring out, apparently fixated on something out there. That gets my curiosity up so I go over to them and ask what they are looking at. Crabb said nothing, they are looking for Draco. I ask why they are looking out there for Draco, shouldn't he be in the great hall with everyone else? Goyle hesitates, Crabb says they're not supposed to tell, Draco said it's a secret. I say I won't tell anyone, so go ahead and share it with me… I'm sure Draco wouldn't mind if I know. Finally Goyle says Draco went outside about an hour ago, before the storm got so bad, and he hasn't come back. Crabb said Draco had been going out to get something to do with the tournament task, but students aren't supposed to go into the forest… and he hasn't come back. Wow… Draco is out in the storm? I decide I have to go out to get him. Goyle says I promised not to tell… I ask how they can keep that secret when Draco could die out there? I add not to worry, I don't need to tell anyone… I'll go get Draco myself.

I go to leave the room, but McGonagall stops me and says no one is to leave the room. I had thought that might be an issue. I go to the other side of the room and find a secret passage behind a suit of armor, the passage leads outside eventually. And it is freezing out, though it doesn't feel as bad as MoSh had indicated. Then again, I am used to the cold pretty well. I wrap myself in some cloaks I find near the exit and head for the forbidden forest. There is no point in calling Draco, the wind is much too loud. The sleet and snow is like needles against my face, not comfortable at all, but definitely bearable. Once I get to the forest I find there is a bit of shelter, I look around, not sure where to find Draco. Somehow my instinct guides me, and after I have traveled a short distance, I find Draco huddled under a particularly large tree. He has his robes pulled tight around him, but those do no good… they are soaked from the sleet. I have seen movies and read books about arctic survival… wearing wet clothes is worse than none at all in the cold… and I have enough cloaks around me to share… So I start getting Draco out of the wet robes, he seems too out of it to respond much… I wrap my cloaks around both of us, keeping him close to share some body heat as we head back to the castle and into the passage I left through.

McGonagall meets us just a short way in, she says if I thought she didn't know about this passage, I was sorely mistaken… how dare I go outside and risk my… she sees Draco with me… good lord, what happened here? Where did you find him? I answer with the first thing I can think of, I say he was outside looking for herbs and hadn't gotten inside before the storm started. True, but I didn't mention the forbidden forest. McGonagall looks at Draco, mostly naked and shivering under my cloaks, she asks if he didn't hear the storm warning, or if he didn't take it seriously… he should really have listened… but save that for later. She asks for me to help her get him to the hospital wing. We get Draco to the hospital wing, where another spell has been cast for warmth, and put him into a bed to be cared for by Madam Palmphrey. Outside the hospital wing McGonagall says that my going out in the storm alone was very foolish, why hadn't I told someone, told a teacher that Draco was outside? But it was also very brave… she doesn't know whether to punish me for leaving the castle in this storm or reward me for bringing Draco back safely… so she will do neither. She says to get back to the great hall through the hidden passage and no one will know I had left, or at least they wouldn't hear it from her. I head back to the great hall.
    3. 02/20/11 Spiders and shacks and traps... oh, my

by , 02-21-2011 at 04:32 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: I didn't have any special plans for the night, just to have some lucids and remember them. I am continuing to try to make myself do a RC every time I wake up, but I just never think of it… no matter how much I try to focus on it. I will keep trying, I'm not sure what else to do, though.

      Maze of Webs
I am in the laundry room of our house, looking at the door that leads out onto the back porch. I look back into the kitchen and see that there is no one there, and I am glad there is no one there. I open the door and walk out onto the back porch, closing the door behind me. I almost head blindly down the steps to the carport, but I stop suddenly when I see there is a wall of cobwebs blocking my way. I shudder at the idea that I almost touched those cobwebs… there are spiders crawling all through the webs, they are big, about the size of golf balls. This scares me, even though I am not normally scared of spiders in waking life. I turn to go down the back stairs, but to do that I have to cross the entire porch… which is covered in more cobwebs, walls of cobwebs, everything is covered with cobwebs… and more of those huge spiders. I am momentarily scared into not moving at all, then I snap out of that and I look to the door I just came out of. I go to open the door, but I stop as I see the spiders have already covered the knob with more cobwebs. I need a stick of some kind to pull cobwebs out of the way so I can get out of there… I look around to try to find a long stick, at first I think there is none, but I finally find one. I pick it up, moving carefully to avoid touching any cobwebs or spiders, and use it to scrape the cobwebs away from the doorknob. The cobwebs come easily away from the doorknob, but now there are spiders crawling on the stick towards me… I throw the stick aside and grab at the knob… but it's locked… and I'm out there surrounded by cobwebs…

      Real Life Models
I am in the yard outside of our house. I am designing a small building, designing it in a 3D modeling software, and the building is forming itself right here in front of me. It turns out that there is someone there building the shed as I am directing. We continue designing the building, which is going to be a part of a new game I am working on, and soon it is finished. I go into the house because I need to get something, though I don't remember what that something was because I go back outside without it. I look at the shed, the man who has been helping me says everything is all done. This isn't good… I am upset with him, I tell him he shouldn't have converted the structure into an editable poly until after I unwrap the UVW map and add the textures to it. He says I need to calm down, there is nothing wrong. I say that there is something wrong, I won't be able to add a texture to the shed now… it will all be the same dull color, which will make it unusable. He says no, all I need to do is add the new modifier to it… then add whatever textures and colors I want. I stand there for a minute, then I realize he is right, I shouldn't have gotten upset.

Note: An editable poly is a format for 3D objects in 3D modeling software such as 3DS Max, the one I use. UVW unwrapping and a UVW map is a process used by 3DS Max or other software to place the colors and patterns in the proper places on that object… such as coloring most of a door brown for wood and then making the knob silver.

      Death Maze
I am with a group of people and we are on the run, there are others chasing after us. The people after us are part of the mob or drug dealers or something like that, they are after us because we stole their money. We go into an old abandoned subway system in an attempt to escape our pursuers. We are going through the passages when one of the people I'm with finds a hidden passage, it had not even been visible from a distance. We get inside and head down one of the passages, but we come to a dead end… that's not good… had the entrance closed behind us? No… it hadn't. We head back for the entrance but the people after us are blocking the way, they are standing just inside the passage. Now the entrance slides closed… a lot of good that does now. One of the thugs is trying to figure out how to open the exit, the others are threatening to kill my associates and me. They are pointing guns at us, saying to hand over their money or die. We don't have the money with us. They're going to kill us all? One if them looks like he is about to fire… but he doesn't… and blood starts coming from his mouth… I look and see that a bunch of needle thin spikes are coming from the floor… and all of the thugs have been impaled. The passage is now turning, it is really disorienting… it is rotating around until it looks like we're standing on the wall and the floor is somehow up above us… the ceiling is off to the right… blades come from the walls and are cutting anything and anyone in their path… one of the men with me is caught by surprise… the blade shreds off about an inch from his back… he falls to the ground screaming in pain… the next blade removes his head. The rest of us run down the passage in the other direction, but it's a dead end… I have no idea how we are supposed to get out.
    4. 02/19/11 Back to Work, Missing Link

by , 02-19-2011 at 11:08 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
      The Halls of Data
I am heading to work at a hospital where I am a computer operator. I am parking in a huge parking garage that is arranged more like a massive maze than a regular parking garage. My mother is in the car with me, I am taking her to show her my office. We park at what is near the far side of the parking garage and then navigate the endless passages to get to the entrance of the hospital. I know exactly how to get to the data center, though the halls in the hospital are just as confusing as the parking garage. Two different times I lose my mom and I have to go back to find her. The data center is full of various computers, some of them are state of the art, others are ancient dinosaurs.

It turns out the dinosaur computers are nearly as useful as the new ones. Several employees are heading out for a smoking break, and I go along with them. We are outside on a patio and everyone lights up cigarettes and starts to smoke. A woman coworker notices I don't have a cigarette, so she lights one and hands it to me. I take the cigarette and take a drag from it. The smoke tastes gross, though I get a nice calm feeling along with it. The feeling has nothing compared to the horrible foul taste, and then there's the smell. The foul odor. I definitely don’t want any more of that. We are all playing a game of cards to win small colorful dragon figures that are encased in yummy candy. I win a large number of them and I sit back against the wall eating the candy.

      The Missing Link
I am on an island in the middle of the ocean. I am looking all over the island for Link, from the Legend of Zelda. There are enemies attacking me, they look like some kind of piggish orc or something like that… I have a sword and shield, I am able to fend off their attacks. I am cutting down the attackers as they come. Finally there is a break in the attacks, and I am able to search the island for Link. No sign of him. I go to a dock and get on a small ship and I head to the next island. I know Link should be somewhere in this area, somewhere in this little group of islands. So I search the islands one by one, fighting my way through each of the islands… but I still have not found any sign of Link. I am getting quite worried now, thinking I might not be able to find him at all. This quest might end with epic failure. I am standing on a high cliff overlooking the ocean below when a strange old man walks up to me. He is a short and fat old man, wearing a really ratty hat and an otherwise nice suit. He says he knows what I am looking for, or rather who. He says Link is in the underwater kingdom of the merfolk. He says their kingdom is directly down below, in the deep ocean. I look down off the cliff and into the water. I think I can just jump down into the water and I can swim down and find Link. I ask the man if the water below is deep enough to jump into, but before he even answers I say to hell with it and jump out as far as I can. I plunge into the deep water and swim down from there, heading down into the depths. Merpeople of some kind are interfering, attacking me with spears, I fight back with my sword, though it is a bit harder to do underwater.

I can breathe underwater just fine. I swim into some caverns below, into one big underwater chamber. There is a bubble of air in the center of the chamber and Link is in that bubble. I fight my way through some more merpeople until I reach the bubble.

I take out a ring of waterbreathing like the one in DDO, and I give it to Link. A bubble of air forms around his head, somewhere I find an extra sword to give Link, and we are able to fight our way out of the cavern together and make it to the surface. We are get out of the water and onto one of the islands, the merpeople can do nothing but float in the water and throw curses at us.
    5. 02/15/11 Healing Springs, A Wasted Education

by , 02-16-2011 at 10:10 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: Nomad wasn't acting like himself in chat today, and I know I have been depressed lately… MoSh said he could also use some healing, so the main plan for the night was to do a group healing with the three of us. Other plans took a bit of a back seat for the night.

      A Healing Mist
I am in the biodome with Basara. Most of the depression I often feel in waking life is no longer with me, Basara currently has his arms around me to comfort me.

I am there in Basara's arms for a short time before a portal he says that if we're going to do a healing we need to be sure everyone is here. I open a portal to MoSh's inner world and go through it. On the other side of the portal I find MoSh wandering around outside the house and calling out to Asuka. I don't see Asuka in the area, so I start searching for Asuka with MoSh, I call out for her as well. I focus on opening a portal to find Asuka, then I lead MoSh through the resultant portal. It turns out Asuka is in the biodome near the healing hot springs. I leave MoSh there with Asuka and focus on a portal to find Nomad. He is in the mountains of the biodome speeding down the slopes on a pair of skis? I don't think I have ever seen him skiing. So I meet up with MoSh, Asuka, and Basara back at the healing springs. We all do healing spells together, and the area fills with golden energy. A soothing mist rises off of the water and surrounds all of us as the healing spells take their effect.

      All For Nothing
I am working at the data center in a hospital just like I have had to do in the past, I am working on one of many computer terminals hooked up to the servers there. Even though there are many other people there and many free computers available, it seems I am the only one doing any work there. I find this to be really annoying. The only bright side is I have a really cool computer terminal to work at, a fancy one that has a lot of power behind it and three screens showing a lot of data.

Right now I need to be pulling up some information and printing it out for the nightly reports. I click a few different things and pull up what I think is the report I need, then I click for it to print. The printer springs to life, but the data it prints out is the wrong report. It is not what I told the printer to print, not even vaguely related. I try again, and it prints a bunch more crap that has nothing to do with what I want. This is getting frustrating, and I have the idea the other people in the room know how to fix things, but instead of helping, they are sitting around making fun of the fact I can't properly print out the nightly report. I am very frustrated with being here, does this mean that the time I spent getting my Bachelor's Degree was completely wasted?
    6. 02/14/10 Farmville and DDO

by , 02-15-2011 at 12:16 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: I didn't have any particular plans for this night other than my usual list of goals that stretches from here to eternity. I left my dreams up to my subconscious and Avalon to decide.

      Farmville City
I am in a strange town that looks like a massive farm of some kind crossed with a swap meet… so there are rows and rows of stalls on both sides of some aisles, each of the stalls have various animals in different enclosures. Cows, chickens, sheep, goats… every type. I am wandering through the aisles looking at the animals, and I come to one of the stalls where someone is passing out little baby chickens. I am looking at that and he says he will give me several chicks, he hands me three of them. I need to find a stall to put the chicks in, the man tells me the chicks jump really high and will go over the average height fence so I need to choose stalls where the fences are double height or the chicken enclosure is completely enclosed and covered. So I wander up and down the aisles until I find three different enclosures… Two of them have high fences around the chicken enclosures and the third one has a covered enclosure. The chicks are jumping high, indeed, almost making it over the higher fence!

      DDO - Home Invasion
I am in a rather expensive house, I don't recognize the house I am in. I am there with Tigress, and I feel I am in a DDO quest where the sahuagin have invaded some homes in a town and need to be cleared out before they kill everyone in the town. And, just as I reach that realization, Tigress and I are being attacked by sahuagin. We fight the sahuagin off, I am using my Witchblade sword, Tigress is using a REALLY big axe that looks like it must weigh more than she does! She is wielding it with ease, however, and quickly cleaving off sahuagin heads as they come in and attack her. I am more focused on the sahuagin attacking me, however, and the fight is over rather quickly. Tigress and I look around for a bit more, and we find there had been some kind of electricity being delivered to the house via cannith crystal, that electricity is being used to power quite a few modern technologies. The sahuagin had severed that power supply, so we re-connect it. The sahuagin have also severed the water supply to the house, so we also restore that. The strange thing is there is also a connection that produces an oil of some kind that is supposed to be really good for the skin. These connections are only present in the more expensive looking homes, though. In each home, after we defeat the sahuagin in the house, the people living in the house come out of a hidden cellar and start cleaning up the mess that the sahuagin have made. Each of the families from the cellar bring a small treasure chest as a reward. There are quite a few houses to clear out, and by the time we get to the business district we have a lot of chests that we are somehow carrying with us in a small bag that must have infinite space inside it. There are sahuagin in the shops and businesses, too, so there is still more killing to be done. Each of the shops has a medium sized chest in the back room. There is no actual indication that the chests are ours to take, but we take them, anyways. After all, that's how DDO works… find a chest, loot it! We find one final gathering of sahuagin in the center of town, and this is where we find the leader of the sahuagin group. This is a sahuagin priestess, and she is really a nasty one, she more than makes up for her lack of beauty with her nastiness. This fight doesn't take long, however, I run my sword through the priestess' chest and Tigress relieves her of her ugly head. A huge treasure chest appears in the center of town now, and some of the people in the town are starting to venture out to see what the sahuagin have done and if they are really gone Tigress and I have lots of chests to open, and we start doing that. I don't remember what was found there, but I do remember noting there is a whole lot of awesome treasure in the chests we have gathered.
    7. 02/11/11 DDO Exploration

by , 02-14-2011 at 02:09 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: No new plans, just the normal tasks and goals. I am camping... I'm not sure what effect that will have on my recall... but I'm hoping for the best.

      -----

      DDO Explorations
I am inside of a game of DDO with Tigress. I don't even consider that I'm dreaming, I am too busy thinking how cool my new virtual reality system is. I can't believe how realistic it is, it looks like a really vivid dream. So Tigress and I are exploring an area of the game we have never been in before, we have decided to just explore and kill stuff for now. The area is crawling with enemies, so there is no shortage of things to kill. In fact, we are constantly being attacked by all manner of enemies from orcs to bugbears to goblins to humans, there is hardly a break from it.

We find some caves and hidden places to explore, as well as a few rare encounters. In one chamber we are attacked by a giant orc who seems intent on smashing us into the ground. I use a lightning attack to knock him down and Tigress cuts his throat, killing him. We continue exploring the are until we find a group of Devourer minions making a sacrifice to the Devourer. They have three women tied to a wooden pole, all three of them are naked, and a ring of fire has been lit around the women. The Devourer minions are standing in a circle around the ring of fire chanting in some strange language. A couple more of them are throwing fuel on the ring of flame to make it burn higher. The fire burns so hot the chanting minions have to back off a bit due to the heat. The heat in the center of the ring where the prisoners are tied must be extreme. We are spotted by one of the minions building up the fire, and he announces that there are intruders, kill them! The sacrifice must by completed! A couple of them keep chanting at the fire, most of them attack Tigress and me. Their plan to kill us meets with epic failure as we kill off the attackers with little difficulty. We kill the last two who are chanting at the ring of fire. Now to free the prisoners... But the fire is much too hot to get through to the prisoners. The roar of the flames, over that sound I can hear at least one woman screaming in pain and fear... I want to get to them. Tigress casts an immunity to flame spell on both of us. We get through the flames to the prisoners, who are no longer tied to the pole. The ropes burned away, but there is still nowhere for them to go since they are surrounded by fire. Tigress casts immunity to fire on the prisoners so we can get out of the fire. Once outside I see that the prisoners have burns over most of their bodies. I use healing spells on them and we are able to scavenge some robes off of dead Devourer minions to clothe them. We continue exploring and come to the sea where we are attacked by some kind of giant sea creature that is being controlled by sahuagin.

We defend against the creature until we're able to find a psychic sahuagin controlling the squid. Once that sahuagin is dead, the sea creature feasts on sahuagin before returning to the sea. We spend the rest of the dream exploring and fighting off random enemies, there are no more rare encounters before I wake. The annoying thing is there don't seem to be any chests left by these rare encounters! What a rip off!

      -----

      Map of the World
I am looking at a map with Tigress, it is a huge map that looks almost like a map of the world. The cities and landmarks are all fictional, however. I look at the names on the map and I recognize such places as Korthos and Stormreach as being DDO locations, but there are sooooo many more locations than just those. Are all of those just the small places to be found by exploring? Or are there more cities and stuff that Tigress and I have left to find? I see a couple places near Korthos, to get there a traveler would have to go through an area that had previously been blocked by ice before the dragon was set free. So Tigress and I make plans to more completely search the area around Korthos. There is so much more to do out there! So many more quests wait, so many enemies need to die! Let's go! I am excited to go, but instead I wake up in my bed in the tent.
    8. 02/10/11 LPTC Task, Assassin's Creed

by , 02-14-2011 at 01:54 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: No specific plans, try to contact MoSh's guides again, do some items from my list of goals... I won't be able to post for a few days, though, since I'll be camping.

      -----

      Sky Beam
I am in a mountainous area, I am climbing on some rocks. I am surprising myself with how easily I am able to climb the rocks without once feeling afraid that I might fall. I get to the top of a rock and I look off into the distance, where I see a strange beam coming from the sky. It seems a lot like the light beam I am used to seeing in Stormreach in DDO, so I do a RC and I find out I'm dreaming. I look around for a bit more, this clearly isn't Stormreach, so there must be some other explanation for the beam. I then remember the latest primary task for the LPTC, which is to stop a laser drill coming from a space ship in orbit. The beam isn't too far off, so I fly towards it and I get there quickly.

I look at the energy beam from the sky, it has a sizable tunnel drilled into the ground already, but I don't know how far down they've gotten. The beam is just energy in the form of a laser... so I fly out over the hole they are drilling, which is about 20 yards across, I fly directly into the path of the beam while activating a spell. I use the song spell Whiplash by Metallica to reflect the laser beam back into space. The reflected beam follows it's own path back into space, and shortly later I see an explosion in the sky as the orbiting space ship is destroyed by it's own laser drill. That seemed pretty simple, too bad I'll have to wait until after the camping trip to post this dream!

      Obstacle Course
I am somewhere I don't recognize, I am there with MoSh and a couple of other men, who don't seem too pleased with my being there. I wonder if they don't like me or if I did something to annoy them or if they are just always like that. MoSh is talking to them about finding a girlfriend... maybe one with a few less obstacles to them being together. One of them says obstacles are merely tests to be overcome. I ask what exactly they expect MoSh to do when the person in question has such a serious case of depression that she won't help herself, I add that I can relate to the depression and I know it is hard enough to be helped by someone there in person let alone by someone on the other side of the planet. Which brings me to the geographical issue, which they have done twice now, because helping her or getting her help might be possible if she was closer... and I mean a lot closer... Then there's the issue of being engaged to be married, which they have done twice now. And now a possibly insurmountable religious issue? So how about a nice local single woman... where if she does get depressed, MoSh can directly help with a hug and an attentive ear. The way they've been going, I wonder if they are looking for as many obstacles as possible to be between MoSh and the woman. I am getting glared at again, one of them says if I know so much, why don't I find someone? I say if my powers worked on this plane I would help MoSh find someone... Damn these powers that only work in dreams...

      Assassin's Creed: Slave Trader
I am at home, doing nothing particularly exciting, and I decide it would be awesome if I was dreaming... Maybe I should do some journaling. I am thinking of dreaming, so I do a RC and I discover I'm dreaming right now! So I say goodbye to my DC mom and I go outside to fly. I fly into the air and open a portal in front of me with no particular destination. I let Avalon guide the portal. I fly through it and find that instead of flying over a desert I am now flying over a lush tropical forest. So many colorful birds are flying around, I also find images in my mind of what I need to do there. It looks like I've been playing too much DDO, because the information comes to me as a list of DDO quest objectives. 1. Locate the slave trading hideout. 2. Stay hidden until the leader arrives. 3. Kill the leader first. 3. Kill the rest of them. 4. Free the slaves. Ok, well since I don't want to be spotted too soon... they will certainly kill the slaves and the leader won't come... I transform into one of the colorful birds.

I fly over the forest, surveying the are until I finally find the camp. A lot of people are locked in cages on wagons, packed in like sardines. The slave traders are talking to each other mostly, a couple of them are tormenting the prisoners, poking at them with spears. One of the others says if the ones tormenting the prisoners kill a slave it's coming out of their cut of the money. After a couple more pokes they stop. I perch in a tree among other birds of my kind, waiting for the leader. The birds around me leave to the other side of the clearing. I follow, but they avoid me. They can tell I'm not one of them. The leader soon arrives on a horse, leading other horses. He is exchanging money for the slaves. I turn back to myself, with a crossbow, I shoot the leader through the neck. He falls over and chokes to death on his own blood. The others are surprised at the attack. They see me as I jump down from the tree and use my Witchblade sword to kill them all. The prisoners don't seem to know what to think of me, so I cut through the locks on the cages and tell them they are free to go, but make sure the horses are looked after... they're not wild horses, so they need shelter, food, any other care. One of the prisoners says the horses will be cared for, those slave traders had been working them too hard and not feeding them enough. The prisoners lead the horses down a trail into the trees, thanking me as they go, only a couple of injured people are riding horses. Someone is bitching about walking, others tell him to shut up, the horses are overworked, too. Everyone who is able will walk. One of the prisoners is saying she would like to give me a reward... but I wake up before she can offer me anything.

      False Awakening
I wake up in my own bed and I realize I have to use the bathroom quite badly, so I carefully get out of bed so I don't disturb the cat I'm sleeping with and leave the room into the main part of the house. I notice it is very quiet in the house, so after I do my business, I go to see if my mom isn't there for some reason. I find she is, indeed, not there. Her car isn't in the carport. I wonder where she has gone, she hadn't said anything about going out. I still have to use the facilities even though I just did. So I use the bathroom again and then go back to bed with my kitty, never once do I suspect I was dreaming. The dream seemed so real that when I wake up I think my mom must have really gone out during the morning, though she says she has not and she isn't dressed to go out... she is in her "hanging around the house" clothes. Damn... if only I could remember to RC every time I wake up!
    9. 02/09/11 Kisses and DDO

by , 02-14-2011 at 01:33 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: Nothing big... MoSh wants to try to talk to the idiots who call themselves his guides, I would like to punch them in the face. The usual list of goals is also part of the plan.

      -----

      Are You Retarded?
I am in MoSh's inner world, out in front of his house. I don't immediately remember why I am there, so I figure the best thing to start with is to find MoSh. I go to his house, and I am greeted at the door by Asuka. She says MoSh isn't here right now. I wonder where I can find MoSh, so I ask Asuka that. She says he isn't dreaming yet, but he should be soon. I go into the house and wait for a bit, Asuka seems to be in a good mood, she is humming a song to herself. I wait for a bit and soon MoSh comes down from upstairs. He seems to know what I'm there for better than I do, so I just listen to him. He says he wants to find out some things from his guides. I follow MoSh for a bit and we meet up with a man, I see another man in the area, they are his guides? He asks what he's supposed to do about Saim. How should he proceed? I ask if they are the ones playing matchmaker between MoSh and these other women. One of them says yes, but... I interrupt, I am annoyed at the fucked up job they've been doing on that topic... I ask them if they're deliberately playing dirty jokes on MoSh or are they both just retarded? The man closest to me gives me a dirty look and asks if I can do better. I mutter that a blind monkey could do better... A website like Cupid.com or something like that would do better... they could at least find single women that aren't on the opposite side of the planet! They don't seem pleased with me, and I figure I could've handled that better...

      The Kiss
Note: This fills the requirements for the basic task of the month for DreamViews, which is to kiss a DC.

I am out in a forest of some kind, wandering along a narrow path through the trees. The birds are singing, there is a gentle breeze blowing... The breeze is slightly chilly, but then someone there with me puts his arm around me. I look beside me and I see Bakura is there with me.

We continue walking through the forest, neither of us is saying anything, but neither of us really has to say anything. I enjoy just being out there with him. The trees slowly thin out until Bakura and I are walking more on a rocky path than a forest trail. We reach a rock overhang where I can look out over the valley below, the view is magnificent.

Bakura and I sit there on the edge, my right arm around him and his left arm around me... It's really very nice. Who needs a waking life boyfriend when I can meet up with guys like this in dreams? I turn to look at him at the same time he turns to look at me, and we kiss... a warm and loving kiss with absolutely no pressure for it to be anything more than a kiss... and the fact it does turn out to be much more than a kiss is exactly what I want. ^_~

Journey to the Center of the Earth
I am at the entrance to an average looking cave. There is nothing out of the ordinary about it, though I have the idea my destination is somewhere in that cave. This is a DDO quest, and I have to go in there and check out what the orcs have been doing down there. I also have an active quest to investigate some disappearances from some surrounding towns. These disappearances seem unrelated to each other, but I have a feeling they are all related to this quest in the cave.

Once I am into the cave I find it is really more of mine, this has been dug out rather than formed naturally. I follow the paths deeper and find those who created the mine are still working it. The passages are crawling with orcs. I have to kill a couple of orcs as I explore the mines. I find that while each level of the mine is quite small, it seems to go down forever. I wonder how long it has taken these orcs to dig this deep. On my way down, four kobolds carrying a container of shiny rocks hurry past me, paying absolutely no attention to me at all. Odd... I kill more orcs, then a human passes me, saying if I am caught standing around they will all be punished. He hurries on. I kill another orc, a kobold sees this and throws himself at my feet, blubbering. I tell him to speak clearly, he says the orcs are working their slaves to death in the mines, there are humans and kobolds, all of them just want to be free. Two orcs come, one grabs the kobold, the other says to put him in the cage as a warning to the others, any talk of freedom means death.

The orc tells me to get back to work or share the kobold's fate. The kobold is begging for mercy, the orcs laugh... right up to the point where I kill them with my Witchblade sword. The kobold is at my feet again, thanking me, I say I need to find the slaves. He leads me deeper into the mines... more orcs die by my blade... we come to the bottom level of the mine where a bunch of bedraggled humans and kobolds are digging in the mines. There is a central chamber where I find out what the orc meant by "the cage" when he threatened the kobold. There are small cages hanging over a deep pit, most of them have dead bodies in them in various stages of decomposition... a couple of them also have live slaves in there with the decomposing corpses... yuck! Those slaves look very weak and sick, no doubt deprived of food and water. There are many orcs... it's killing time! The orcs are taken by surprise as I attack, some go down without a fight, I kill all of them. I free the slaves, heal the live ones in the cages, and teleport all of us to the surface. I am thinking I have a lot if rewards to claim, but it was here that I woke up. For some reason I always wake up before I can claim my rewards! Damn it!
    10. 02/07/11 Hogwarts, Hogwarts, and More Hogwarts

by , 02-07-2011 at 11:45 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: My plans for this night involved becoming lucid, as usual, and meeting up with MoSh to continue a much neglected series of Hogwarts dreams that we had been having a while back that involved the two of us in the Tri-School Wizard Tournament. We had completed two of the tasks… one where we had to make our way across an obstacle range, and another where we had to sneak past a dragon to grab a golden egg, much like the first task in the book Goblet of Fire. Other tasks included the other Hogwarts, where I was supposed to be teaching a class… Q says we can use a bit of time travel to pick up where we left off in both of the Hogwarts worlds… and also to complete tasks from the TotY on DV, the tasks for LPTC, tasks of the month on DV and MM… my own list of goals… wow… o.O

      Epic Fail
I am at school, sitting at my desk, waiting for class to start. The instructor is Mr. Chappell, also known as Mr. C, and he is actually one of my favorite instructors. He is passing papers back out, announcing everyone's grade, and I am in line to get mine. I peek ahead and see an 84% on my paper. When I get to the front he hands mine back silently, I wonder why he didn't announce my grade. He says he didn't think I would want him to, I look and see the paper has a 54% on it… an 'F' when I had seen a 'B' there earlier! I ask why the low grade, he says I didn't answer the question properly. I take out the assignment sheet and show him that I did, and I answered it following my notes. He says I didn't even take notes, I say I did so. He says to show them to him, so I go back to my seat and get the notes. I say my paper should at least earn a 'C' even if I did misunderstand the assignment. He reluctantly boosts my grade to a 70%, and says everyone who got an 'F' on the assignment will now get a 'C' instead.

      My Last Breath
Note: This one fulfills the Mortal Mist Basic Challenge for the month of February, which is to meet dreambot or, alternatively, to complete one of your own goals. Healing the Longbottoms has been a goal of mine that I have attempted in the past, tonight I completed it!

I am at Hogwarts, the one where I am a student, and I am at the breakfast table. I eat waffles… yum… I am lucid, so I eat plenty of them with lots of butter and syrup since I don't have to count points for these. Just as a note, I am on the Weight Watchers program, so I count points for everything I eat. I finish and wander over by the Gryffindor table to see if MoSh is there. Neville is saying he will be out of the school for the day, but since it is Sunday, it isn't important. He is telling Harry and Hermione this. Maybe he's going to St. Mungo's to visit his parents… perfect opportunity. I follow him, and he does go to St. Mungo's. I follow him to his parents' room, but he sees me before he goes in. He seems embarrassed that I found him there, asks me not to tell anyone. I say he shouldn't be embarrassed of the condition in they're in, but proud of the fact they stood their ground in the face of such opposition. And now it is time for them to be healed. He looks questioning, but I say I have been trying to heal them, and I think he is the key to breaking through, will you help me? Of course he will! Though he doesn't seem too hopeful… We go in, the healers are glad to see both of us, I use the song My Last Breath by Evanescence. I encourage Neville to help me with the spell, he joins in, and it seems he is a natural healer, contributing much energy to the spell. We use it on his mother first, she recognizes him, and there is a brief tearful reunion. That can wait, one healing left to do. We use the song on his father with similar results. Now there is a three-way tearful reunion from which I quietly excuse myself. I figure that is a private moment, and I don't really want to be part of it anyway.

      The Secret of the Egg
Back at Hogwarts, the one where I am a student, sitting at the dinner table is when Dumbledore brings up the subject of the tournament again. He says he hopes we are all making good progress on decoding the messages our eggs have to give us. Draco is beside me and he mutters that the egg sounds like someone torturing a hippogryph rather than a message any human could understand… I remember that the way to listen to the egg is underwater. I want to see if MoSh is there this time, so I wander over to the Gryffindor table. Neville is excitedly telling anyone who will listen that his parents are better and they will be visiting next weekend, he can't wait for everyone to meet them. MoSh is also there, as is Asuka, they are sitting next to each other getting a bit too touchy-feely for a public school… and if it wasn't for Neville, they would probably be gathering an audience. I say hi to MoSh, and he says hello, I ask if they have listened to their egg yet. He says no, this is the first time he has been back, Harry has been procrastinating, and Hermione has yet to figure it out. She has been spending her time researching all the strangest languages she could possibly think of. Of course that doesn't do it. We decide to listen to the egg in the lake, since there are both men and women in each group. I tell Draco I have an idea for the egg, and we go down to the lake. Harry, Hermione, Ron, and MoSh are there, too. I briefly think Ron is like a lost puppy following the others around even though he is not in the tournament. Draco thinks this is a weird place to take the egg. I tell him to get in the water with me, then duck under. He looks at me like he thinks I am nuts. Harry and Ron also think MoSh is nuts, but a look of realization is dawning on Hermione's face. She says of course, the density of the water will alter the sound the egg makes… maybe it's not a foreign language after all. We get in the water and go under, I open my egg. It is indeed speaking English now, it describes how to get to the bottom of the lake, follow a maze of passages, and get to the goal. Draco has to surface a few times for air, I breathe water without even thinking about it. When I surface, Draco asks if I am part fish… how long can I hold my breath, anyway? Ron, Harry, and Hermione are staring wide-eyed at MoSh, still underwater, and then he surfaces. Ron is stunned, he says, "Blimey! I've never seen anyone but a fish stay underwater that long!" To top it off, neither MoSh nor I are even winded. I can breathe water to get to the goal, I will have to figure out some way for Draco to do it. MoSh will be able to help Harry and Hermione better than any gillyweed!

      Until It Sleeps
I am at the Hogwarts where I am supposed to teach a class, but I have absolutely no idea what I am supposed to be doing because I can't remember where in the curriculum the class is right now! I look through a book called Out of the Darkness by Raven Knight as the students are coming into the class, I figure I haven't taught them any healing spells yet, so I will start with that. I open the book to the song Until It Sleeps by Metallica. I explain the use of the song to the class… how it can be used to calm rage and anger from someone's heart, put the rage and anger to sleep. I also explain that if someone is doing horrible things because they are in pain, not physical pain, but internal pain… emotional pain, spiritual pain… this song will take that pain away. After the song, they will go back to acting like their true selves. Of course if their true self happens to be an asshole, they will still be an asshole after the song. It won't change that. It is meant to heal someone, not to transform who they really are, since that is a choice everyone has a right to make for themselves. I show the spell to everyone in the class, and this goes smoothly with no unexpected difficulties.
    11. 02/05/11 DDO Non-Lucids

by , 02-06-2011 at 01:21 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: I didn't have any specific plans for tonight, though I was rather expecting a DDO based dream since I have been playing a lot of DDO lately… My main goal is still to have more consistent recall, as that has been very unpredictable lately. I have some recall from last night, and here it is.

      Hell Is For Children
I am in a dungeon like the kind that is found in the online game DDO, Dungeons and Dragons Online. I am there looking for some prisoners, a woman in a nearby town has told me that the kobolds have kidnapped several children and are holding them captive in these very caves. Of all weird things, I have a log book in my pocket and I am able to look back over the goals I have for this quest. Find and rescue all of the children, 5 left. Kill Sagun Krent, who is apparently one of the leaders of the kobolds. Kill Darren Drexel, who is a human traitor, and apparently helped the kobolds get hold of the children in the first place. Destroy the kobold dungeon (optional) is on the end of the list. Ok, so now that I have the goals memorized, I put the log in my pocket and form Witchblade into a sword and armor. The dungeon is pretty basic, there are quite a few kobolds guarding the place, and also quite a few barrels and crates to smash, I am finding a decent amount of money. I find a locked door quite a ways in, and the kobold guarding the door has the key, so I kill that kobold and go into the main prison area. There are a few more kobolds there, I kill them, and then use some thieves tools I have on me to pick the locks to the prison cells that each have a child in them. Four children. One left. I have two girls and two boys with me, they all grab daggers from a pile of weapons stashed in the corner, not wanting to be defenseless. We look for fifth child. There is a torture room, the girl is naked and chained to a table with a kobold on top of her, forcing himself on her. Before I can act, the other four children swarm the kobold, stabbing it with their daggers, it falls off the girl and bleeds to death. Pick the locks on the girl's chains, find some rags to use as temporary clothing, she is more traumatized than the others. On the way out Sagun Krent blocks our exit. I fight him, the traitor Darren Drexel tries to grab the kids, the four stab him to death. The one girl is huddled on the floor. I kill Sagun Krent. All mandatory tasks complete. Now I can recall… no recall button? Of course not! This isn't a game! Kids and I make our way out, killing a few lingering kobolds on the way. I notice some barrels of explosives near the entrance, convenient, so once we're all outside, I detonate them with an energy ball, and the entrance to the cave collapses. All goals complete. I lead the kids back to the town, I use a healing spell on the one girl to help her overcome her trauma. Parents are thrilled to see their kids, want to give me rewards, but I wake up

      One Woman Army
I am in the town of Korthos from DDO, and everyone is in a state of panic. I ask someone what is going on, he says the city is about to be overrun by devourer servants… not on my watch! I go to the front gate where there are a few warriors trying to hold the gates, there are many enemies just outside it. I say I will fight, they say it's too late, and they can't open the gates, they need to give the people a chance to escape. I jump over the gate and I am now facing a huge group of surprised enemies, that seem to be made up of sahuagin, various classes of human devourer minions, kobolds, zombies, and skeletons. What a nice mix. I use an Alex Mercer archetype and form my arms both into his sword blades and charge directly into the group, cutting enemies down as I charge through them, they are momentarily too surprised to respond much, this is totally unexpected. I am in the middle of the group now and I use a tendril barrage devastator attack and send razor sharp tendrils through all of the enemies anywhere near me, huge numbers of enemies of all kinds are killed by this. Now the ones who had been ready to attack are being killed before their attacks can actually land, others are just trying to get out of the path of my attacks. It's the devourer forces who are now panicking, they hadn't realized that many of them could be killed that quickly, so many of them are running away, the leaders are getting pissed and saying it's only one person, kill her, you cowards. There is one leader each, a devourer priest, a sahuagin priestess, a kobold chief, and a necromancer that is of a race I don't recognize. The human priest is closest, so I form one hand into an Alex Mercer claw and crush his neck to shut him up. I use a tendril from my left hand to pull the sahuagin priestess to me and then cut her in two with a blade formed of my right hand. I charge at the kobold chief and knock him to the ground, then impale him there with three tendrils… the necromancer is running, leaving undead to guard his back. I use a variant of Alex Mercer's ground spike attack, sending biomass into the ground that erupts through the ranks of the undead in a wave that keeps going until it catches up with and impales the necromancer. Except for the undead, the enemies are fleeing… cowards… disorganized, fleeing into the hills and surrounding wilderness. I use the blade to cut through the remaining undead, and soon all that remains outside the Korthos gate is a lot of dead bodies and blood. Two stunned Korthos guards are looking out of the gate, gaping at me, one of them says, "What the fuck are you?"
    12. 02/03/11 Wizards, Healing, Raiders of the Lost Arc

by , 02-03-2011 at 11:23 PM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Note: I have been running really short on time lately, and I end up not journaling everything, so I have gone to a shorter format so I can get everything I would like to journal recorded and still have time for other things.

      The Dark Wizard
I am in a cavern with a group of people like might be found in a Dungeons and Dragons game. We are in a cavern that is blocked off by creatures, they are too strong for us to escape. They have a dwarf wizard chained up with magic, he is laughing at them for their inability to escape. They got in and captured him, now they will all die. Everyone is arguing on what to do. They ask who the fuck am I? I figure I could get them out of there, but I have a better idea… I can heal the dwarf wizard. He has a spark, so I use the song Touch My Heart to restore the flame in his heart. He is still bound by magic, his powers are being suppressed. I tell the others they can set him free now. He is no longer laughing at the situation, now he says he will help them escape. No one there wants to trust him now, apparently they don't believe I was able to heal his heart. Since they won't listen, I figure I will just have to allow the wizard the chance to prove himself. I look closer at him and see he uses dark energy, but it is stable now, and I just need to set him free of his bonds. "Through the darkness of hell and the blackest of hates, he who makes fear awaits you. After many lifetimes sealed away, the power remains for all to see, now it's un bound, now I set it free." There is a cyclone of dark energy surrounding the dwarf that pulls huge amounts of dark energy into him and allows him to break free of the bonds. Now he is not only free, he is more powerful than ever before… but still stable. He is angry at the creatures outside because he says they corrupted him in the first place, so he will help the people fight them off. Everyone there is terrified of him, but he proves them wrong as he uses his power to clear a path out of the dungeons, eliminating all of the creatures that dare stand in their path. Most of the creatures start running away before the force of his power. Once outside, the wizard says he is willing to let the past go, he won't bother the people unless they bother him first… so just leave him alone. They seem more than willing to comply with that.

      Animal Sanctuary
I am in someone else's house, I am visiting there with my mother, and we are surrounded by all sorts of animals. I love the situation, and I am trying to get close to all of the animals and pet them or at least take photos of them with my iPod Touch. There are sooooo many kitties, I want to pet all of them, and most of them are willing to let me. There are also many dogs and some rarer animals that include big wild cats, a bear, an elephant in one of the larger rooms… some of the rooms are HUGE. I am in a room with many trees growing indoors, and there are birds and squirrels that are extremely friendly, even a raven comes from the trees and lands on my shoulder, being very careful not to hurt me with the talons on its feet. The raven has very soft feathers. My mom wants to go, we are on our way out and I see many animals I don't recognize, I try to linger back and take photos, my mom rushes me out to the car. We are driving home when I realize something is moving in my shirt and I find it is a pair of squirrel hitchhikers. There is also a canary on my head that seems to have found my hair to be a good place to roost.

      Energy for Asuka
I am inside MoSh's inner world, and he is there with me. He seems glad to see me there, he says he wants to be sure Asuka is ok, he hasn't seen her around much in his dreams. I ask him where she is, he says if he knew that he wouldn't be so worried about her. I go into the house and try to scan around for Asuka, she isn't in the house, so I go to the door to Hogwarts. I scan Hogwarts as best as I can do quickly, no sign of her there, so I go to the door to the home of the monks that are training her. She is there! MoSh and I go through the doorway into their temple and look around, I am able to track Asuka's signal to find she is near a tranquil pool of water. The pool of water is surrounded by beautiful flowers, and Asuka is floating over the pool, meditating. MoSh asks if she is ok, but she doesn't respond, she is clearly too deep in meditation. MoSh asks one of the monks if she is ok, the monk says she is fine, she is just meditating, she should be out of it soon. MoSh asks if she is ok, the monk says aside from being a bit drained of energy, she is doing fine. Soon she comes out of her meditation and floats over to the shore and lands there. She wakes up, smiles at MoSh, and then hugs him. She looks a bit depressed, maybe just low on energy. Just to be sure there is nothing wrong inside her, I use the song Touch My Heart to give her some extra energy and purge any remaining unstable energy from her. She looks at MoSh, then at me, and she seems to be a bit more lively now. She says thank you, that energy really feels good, she has been quite tired lately. MoSh asks the monk how Asuka's training is going, the monk says it would be going much better if she had more confidence in her abilities to keep control of her own power. That fear must be dealt with first, and this requires much meditation and practice, which is what they are working on now.

Raiders of the Lost Arc (TotY)
I have said I would take MoSh into Avalon so we could go take care of something that needs to be taken care of, he says he is interested in doing that. So that is the next stop for the night. I take MoSh through a portal, focusing on letting Avalon guide us, but instead of taking us directly to a place we need to go, it takes us to the island of Avalon. MoSh looks around the island and says he thinks Asuka would really like it there, we should bring her sometime. I remember Tigress also says she wants to come, so I tell MoSh to wait for a bit and I open a portal to the moon, to the spot by the koi pond. She is not there, so I figure that means she is off in another dream and might be doing something she does not want to be disturbed from. There will be time for her in Avalon later. I close the portal, then MoSh and I get on a wooden boat and float down a river into a thick grove of trees where everything goes dark… and we find we are standing in a desert. There is a lot of commotion going on not far from our location, so MoSh and I go to check it out. There are many Nazis surrounding an object which could only be the Arc of the Covenant… there are two people tied up to a poll, one of them appears to be Indiana Jones, the other is a woman. One of the Nazis is about to open the arc, but I remember the Task of the Year where the goal is to open the arc and see what is in there. I have to open it, not him. MoSh and I easily kill off all of the Nazis, I use shape shifting to form my arm into Alex Mercer's arm blade and slice through them all. MoSh uses a pair of katana and some cool looking martial arts moves. Indiana and the woman are staring at us in awe, MoSh sets them free. They say we should get the arc to safety, I say no, we're going to open it. They both protest, but they certainly can't stop us… MoSh and I go over to the arc and open up the lid, Indiana and the woman run for cover. There is a glowing light in the arc that is like looking into infinity, there are surges of energy down inside it and flashes of light… then there is an eruption. The energy explodes out of the arc and permeates everything in the area, flowing through both MoSh and me as well. What a surge of energy! It doesn't hurt at all, it feels good. Once the energy passes through us, a spirit forms in front of us. I can't tell if it is male or female or even human, and it speaks to us (or at least I hear it) telepathically. It says we have pure hearts and have thus survived the test. It thanks us for releasing it, then it fades to nothing. The arc is now completely empty… nothing more than an ornate artifact from a time long past.

    13. 02/01/11 Fall Out Boy: Dance

by , 02-02-2011 at 03:59 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: For this night I had plans to meet up with MoSh and make sure Asuka is ok. I am also hoping that Avalon will start working again now that I have retrieved my key to Avalon, I have noticed it hasn't been doing much of sending me where I need to be lately. If I haven't come up with some kind of plan ahead of time, I haven't had much in the way of dreams. Even when I did plan something out it often hasn't worked. I fell asleep normally this night, not using my light/sound device to induce a WILD, since I'm not sure how well that tends to work with Avalon.

      Fall Out Boy: Dance
I am in a forest, it is a very pleasant place to be, and I am walking down a trail and enjoying the nice weather. Enjoying the birds singing, the breeze blowing, the loud cursing from a bunch of men not far off… what? That doesn't sound normal, so I follow the sound of the men and look into a hidden flat area, or it is flat now. It looks like the group of men trampled everything in the area down to make space for them to gather and curse. Most of them are complaining that they don't want to wait around, they want to kill someone, to attack now and take what they want, no one in that pathetic village can do anything to stop them. All of the men are dressed in leather armor and are carrying weapons such as swords, spears, and a few of them have bows and arrows. They are doing a lot of cursing and arguing, and finally a woman's voice calls out over the rest for everyone to shut up. I look towards the woman who spoke, and I recognize her right away… it's Callisto! The first thought to enter my mind is that I haven't seen Callisto for a very long time, my next thought is that I have never seen Callisto IWL at all, and my third thought is that I might possibly be dreaming. (I wish my thoughts would go this way in dreams more often!) So I do a RC and discover I am dreaming, so now I know exactly what I have to do.

I start by doing a quick scan of all of the people out there, but it looks like the only one with a spark is Callisto, it seems she has surrounded herself with some of the most violent and least intelligent people she could find. I am about to attack the group when I remember something I had been thinking about the night before, a song spell I have never used before, it was an idea that came to mind when I was reading something about a technique used by Walms and then Hukif that he refers to just as 'dance.' I look around and see no one has noticed where I am, so it seems like a good time to try something new out, back out in the clearing the men are now arguing with Callisto. One of them draws his sword and says he's had enough of listening to this crazy woman, then he makes a move against Callisto… only to get cut open by Callisto's sword as she draws it and cuts him in one smooth arc. He collapses to the ground, bleeding copiously from his wound as well as coughing up blood. Callisto asks if anyone else wants some of that, but none of them do. The man on the ground who had been struggling to breathe goes silent and still now, no doubt he is dead.

Ok… now to test out the song spell I had been playing with, which is actually the song "Dance, Dance" by Fall Out Boy, with the focus on the main chorus, "Dance, dance, we're falling apart to half time. Dance, dance, and these are the lives you love to lead. Dance, this is the way they'd love if they knew how misery loved me." The part that says, " Dance, dance, we're falling apart to half time," seems particularly appropriate. So now I summon up a dagger in my left hand, focus on the song, and actually teleport just the hand over behind one of the rudest and sickest sounding men in the group and bury the dagger up to the hilt in his neck… he was talking at the time, and ended up with, "After I'm done having my way with those bitches, I'm gonna… *glurg*" One of the men close to him chuckles and asks the target of my attack if he is really planning on raping the women and then puking on them. He suddenly stops laughing as the man I stabbed falls over, dead, with a gaping wound in the back of his neck. Then there's the strangeness that happened on my end of things… when I teleported my hand away, my internal penticon computer responded in the same way as it would if I lost a limb in battle… it dispensed a healing sensu bean directly into my bloodstream. The sensu bean resulted in the almost instantaneous re-growth of my missing hand. Then, as per the way I have seen the technique work, the other hand teleported back… and attached itself on my arm just above the new hand… um… ok… that's not normal. So now I am officially a freak of nature.

Back out in the clearing, the men are freaking out a bit, trying to figure out how their companion got that wound and died when there was no one there, I decide to try again. I form shift to get my body back to a normal form, and I look out at the group of men, who Callisto is trying to get to pay attention to her, she is insisting one of the others must have killed him, but she doesn't care as long as that person is equally merciless with the people in the village. So I focus on the song again, this time specifying that I don't need a sensu bean… and I repeat the process with a man on the other side of the clearing. This time I guess my hand doesn't go unseen as last time. As the target I stabbed falls over and dies, a man very close by is now yelling about ghosts and haunting, saying he just saw a disembodied hand kill Talbus. Another man says that's bullshit and he kills the man who saw my hand, saying that is the price to be paid for such treachery. Callisto is clearly getting very impatient with her people first attacking her, then keeling over dead from unknown reasons, and now killing each other. Their reaction is rather amusing, though I am more interested in what has happened with me. As soon as the hand was teleported away, the sensu bean is not released, but Witchblade grows down over the wound and forms into a replacement hand, a hand made entirely of Witchblade material. The other hand returns, is unable to attach to the Witchblade material, so it falls to the ground, completely useless.

There is a man there with me, and he seems to find the situation a bit amusing, I try not to pay any attention to him being there. Though I do think the fact I now have a hand made entirely of Witchblade to be very interesting. Witchblade retracts and it turns out it created a new hand while it was there. The man with me seems to find that interesting as well. He asks me what I'm trying to do, I tell him I am trying to replicate a technique I have seen a friend do in dreams. He asks if I could use some help with that, I say no, I have to be able to do it, damn, I've already asked too many dumb questions about it, which means even now it won't count as figuring it out on my own, which means everyone is going to keep looking down on me as an incompetent fool, damn! I use the song again, but this time my entire body explodes and teleports away to different locations, leaving me as a disembodied consciousness, a non-corporeal entity, and all my different body parts appear around enemies and do various things to kill those people… arms and hands grab daggers and stab, a leg tripped one of them while the other stomped his face into a bloody pulp… A disembodied head tore open the throat of one of the men like a wild beast would… then there was a limbless torso hovering in the air and freaking everyone out. Callisto goes to cut the floating torso down, it also explodes, then a whole bunch of parts come back to my location at light speed, going through anything in their path… more dead people… then I am reformed right where I was before, spitting the one man's blood out of my mouth… YUCK!

The man there is staring at me really strangely, now that must have looked totally insane… I look out into the clearing, or at least I try to, I am feeling quite disoriented, and the people still alive in the clearing are all going nuts and running off into the forest yelling about vengeful spirits and having angered the gods somehow. Most of them are dead and lying all over the ground in bloody messes, Callisto has completely lost any semblance of control over her people, and soon she is standing there alone in the blood soaked clearing. Well, as weird things have been up to this point, it is time to heal Callisto's heart. I am about to do that when a really big and nasty looking guy strides into the clearing, looks around at the blood and bodies, then says it looks like they got the fun started without him.

She glares over him and says he is late, he says that is obvious, she says everyone else is gone, either dead by some strange intervention of the gods, or run off in fear. She is clearly frustrated, well so am I, I want to just do the healing and get out of there now. Something pops into my mind and I do it without even thinking, it is really disgusting, I teleport directly to the big guy, materializing inside him and then tearing out from the inside, which is sooooo disgusting… If it was a FPS, I would have just scored a telefrag! (One character teleports into another or spawns into another.) Callisto stares in stunned silence… I feel disgusting… But I still focus on the song "Until It Sleeps" to heal Callisto, the energy flows and seems to have the desired effect. I head back to the cover of the forest, I want to find some water and clean the crap off of me… instead the guy I saw earlier is still there, staring at me strangely, and then I wake up.
    14. 01/31/11 The Key to Avalon

by , 02-01-2011 at 04:59 AM (New Dream Adventures of Raven Knight)
Plans: Open the door of Avalon by creating a paradox? Go to a future instance of me and borrow her instance of the key to Avalon. Use that key to unlock Avalon, then use Avalon to find the present instance of the key which I am supposed to have. Once I have my own instance of the key back, I return the future instance of the key to the future instance of me, thus minimizing the effect of the paradox. Then I can use Avalon to find out about the guy that has been around Asuka, seeming to attack her, or complete whatever task Avalon sends me to do. Now if I can just remember these dreams...

      The Key to Avalon
I am in my room looking for a missing cord, I need that cord in order to fix my iPod Touch, which has taken a serious crap. I am looking at the iPod, thinking how it may look retarded once I fix it, but at least it will work again, which is my main concern. I dig through a couple of drawers, throwing stuff everywhere, but I can't find the cord. I wonder if I can buy the cord alone… I don't think so… shit! I am thinking about where it could be when Q comes in and looks at the mess I have scattered around the room. He says it's a good thing I haven't done this in my waking bedroom or I'd have a lot of work just to clear off the bed. I say I need to fix my iPod, completely ignoring his statement involving waking life. He says my iPod is fine, but we have something to do. He leads me into another room that I don't recognize, and over to a full sized mirror. I look into the mirror and see my reflection, though it doesn't look like a perfect reflection of me. Q urges me forward, through the mirror… which ripples like water as I pass through… and then I am on the other side.

The other side of the mirror looks like an altered version of my house, though it isn't an exact reverse as one might expect in a world through a mirror. There is another instance of me standing there and looking at me with only slight interest, she smiles and says she already knows what I need. I ask how she would know that, she says she had to do it in her own turn, silly. And as such, another instance of me will visit me in the future, she will be looking for the same thing, and I will have to lend it to her. She reaches under her shirt and pulls out a golden chain with a key on the end of it. She hesitates for just a moment before unfastening the chain and handing me the key.

She says that technically this key will make Avalon open to where she needs to be… but since she needs her key back, that means she needs me to find my key.. so what we both need is the same thing. So take the key and return with it swiftly, good luck. Q says he is no longer needed here, and he is needed elsewhere, so he will also wish me good luck… and then he disappears. I am now standing there with the other instance of myself, I wonder if there is some particular reason why Q didn't take me to where I need to use the key…

Somewhere during all of this time I have become somewhat lucid at least, so I know I can open a portal, and I do so, focusing on getting back to the Halls of Avalon. The portal opens and I go through it into the same dimly lit blue halls I recognize from my last visit.

I walk down the hall again for a while, the woman I remember from my last visit is there again, welcoming me to the halls of Avalon, choose a path and uncover my destiny. That sounds a bit weird to me, but I continue down the hall, going straight just like I did in the previous dream so I can get to the same locked door as I did last time. The man I spoke with earlier appeared there and asked if I intended to blast the door down this time… um… no. I have a key. Fantastic, so go ahead and use it, then. I take the gold key out and slid it into the lock, and the lock turned with ease. The lock clicks and the door swings open. The man says that wasn't my key, was it? I say no, it's another instance of the key from another instance of me. He asks if I actually figured that out on my own, I am giving him a dirty look, then he says he was just kidding around with me, go ahead through the door, it's open, after all. I go through the door and it closes behind me. As soon as it closes behind me I hear the sound of a lock closing, and when I turn around, the door has completely disappeared.

I am in a forest, a tropical looking forest, and it is full of the most vibrant and bright colors I have ever seen. The woman I saw earlier appears from nowhere, stepping from behind a tree and smiling at me. She motions around the forest and says it has come to her attention that I have never traveled via Avalon by actually visiting the island itself. I'm not sure what to say about that… She says there are many exits from Avalon, but all of them will lead me to somewhere I need to be. She says to journey down a river, dive into a pool, or just take a boat out into the oceans around Avalon and I will find a distant land where I need to be. I focus on what I need to find and look at a river that is flowing nearby. The woman says it is best to not try to dictate where Avalon takes me, because sometimes I need to be somewhere I do not realize I need to be. I tell her I need to find my instance of the key to Avalon, she says that Avalon knows this, and if that is the most important need I have right now, I will be taken to the right place. I tell her ok, I will try to let things take their own course. I go over to the river and find some small boats there, I launch one of the wooden boats into the river and ride it for a while into a cave. Everything around me gets dark, I feel disoriented, and then I find I am in a new place.

I am in a park now, I look around and I see a man there, he has long hair and is looking in the opposite direction, I wonder who he is… I approach him and look more closely at him, he is eyeballing a key just like the key I am now wearing around my neck, he has my key to Avalon! I am looking at him, I say that's my key, he looks over at me and looks very surprised to see me. I tell him to give me back my key, he says he doesn't know how I managed to find him, but it's too bad it would do me no good. He uses the key and unlocks a door in empty space, goes through it, and is gone. I use my key again… I wind up back on the island… use the pool, swimming to the bottom, and then I find myself in a bedroom of some kind, the man is standing by the window looking outside. I decide not to announce myself this time, so I go quietly over to him. I epic fail at picking the key off of him, he says he could always go to where I need to be and just kill everyone there if I want that. He unlocks the window, and jumps out. I remember he is going where I need to be, so why would I need to be in this bedroom… I use my key and end up at the island again. I wonder if that's how it will always be, it seems a bit annoying to have to do that. I head out over the ocean, I'm flying now, and I fly over what looks like open ocean but I fly into darkness…

Now I find I am in a village that looks like an RPG type town, there are people making their way around everywhere, and strangely enough, no one seems to have noticed my appearance or thought it was weird. I look around to see where I am and to see if the man is around somewhere, but I don't see him… then he appears right in front of me. Before he can even react I reach out and grab the key from his hand, the key that he is still holding out in front of him, and, "Yoink!" Yoink?! The man turns and sees me with the key in my hand, he seems surprised that I somehow got there before him. I look around the town and see a door to a shop that is closed, I focus on it being a portal back to my inner world… and when I open it, I come through to my own bedroom, then I close the door behind me. Q is waiting for me there, he sees I have a key in my hand. I notice that my key is quite a bit different than the key I borrowed.

It isn't as fancy, but it is every bit as shiny and gold. I put my instance of the key around my neck on a gold chain I must have summoned from nowhere. He says to return the other key, then that's done. I should be able to get my dreaming back to normal. I follow Q back to the mirror and through it, to where I find the other instance of myself. She is once again not surprised to see me, she is smiling. She said she knew I could do it. I return her instance of the key to Avalon to her, and then I wake up.
    15. 01/30/11 Halls of Avalon

Note: For reference, I refer to the energy force that guides me to where I need to be as Avalon, which comes from the island of Avalon as depicted in the animated series Gargoyles. Here is a brief note on the characteristics of Avalon that seem to be seen in the force that guides my unplanned, sometimes non-lucid, dreams:

Avalon cannot be found on a map of the world; it is reachable only by magic. Despite being part of the Earth, its true location is found at a rather large nexus of native Earth magic, and therefore is incapable of being reached in a three dimensional manner. The usual procedure for entering Avalon for mortals is to recite a Latin incantation while upon a body of water (which can range in size from the sea to a college swimming pool); Oberon's Children, on the other hand, can presumably come and go through their innate abilities, without needing water nearby. (Although I have always traveled with my version of Avalon without the aid of water or incantations, unless lying on a waterbed and snoring counts!) Leaving Avalon is somewhat trickier; it does not send you to where you wish to go, but to where you need to be. (It is this part about being sent where you need to be that usually results in me showing up exactly where and when I am needed to perform a dream task.)

So lately I seem to be unable to travel with Avalon, or be lucid in any manner. And even though Avalon has always guided my non-lucids before, they have been getting more and more mundane over time, more dreams about work and school and less dreams about far off worlds and adventure. One of my main goals now is to find out what has happened with my ability to have Avalon send me where I need to be, and get it working again, or hopefully get it working again. There is also an issue going on with Asuka, MoSh has reason to believe there may be a demon of some kind inside her, that her symbiant is fighting it, but isn't able to force it all of the way out. If I am able to, helping with this is my second goal for the night.

      The Halls of Avalon
I am in a strange place, I look around and see that I am in a long arched hallway that is illuminated by a dim blue light. The entire setting is very dark, but it is also very comforting there, I am getting a sense of peace. I look at the high vaulted ceilings and then begin making my way down the hallway, heading in the only way I can go since there is a locked door behind me. I haven't checked the door, but I am absolutely certain it is locked. My footsteps echo loudly in the wide halls, and after a while I meet up with another person there. I am surprised at that since I thought I was alone. There is a woman coming over to me, she smiles welcomingly, and says, "Welcome to the Halls of Avalon."

"The Halls of Avalon?" I ask, "This is Avalon?"

"This is only a small part of Avalon," she says, "The whole of Avalon is vast, but this is where you must enter from. You enter from here and then you will be able to go anywhere you need to at the time. I tell her I have always been able to do that before. She says if I have traveled through the Halls of Avalon in the past, then I have but to choose a hall, go to the door at the end, and find out where it takes me. I continue down the hall I am in, it goes on for a ways farther. I pass several other halls that branch off of the one I am following, though I decide to stay with the one passage for now. It finally comes to an end. There is a door there, so I go to open it up, but I find it is locked.

Suddenly there is a man there with me, he is smiling at me and laughing, though he doesn't really seem unfriendly. He says I'm not going to get through it without unlocking it first… I keep trying to open it for a bit, then I look in my pockets, looking to see if I might have a key on me. The man chuckles again and says it looks like someone lost her key. I ask if he has a key. He says of course he does. I ask him to open the door, then. He says that won't help me any, if he opens the door, it will lead to a place he needs to be right now, not to where I need to be. He says I have to open it myself. I ask where my key is. He asks how he would know that when I'm the one who lost it. I pick up a couple of wires off the ground and make a lame attempt to pick the lock… epic fail. I try a Harry Potter spell, alohamora… epic fail. The man says I have about as much chance of getting through the door like that as I have of digging the Grand Canyon using a teaspoon. I ask him how I'm supposed to get through it, then? Break it down? He says I should use Avalon to find it. I say I can't use Avalon until I find the key, so how am I supposed to use Avalon to find the key? He shakes his head a bit and says I have clearly missed the point entirely. But I shouldn't worry, he has complete confidence that I will figure it out if I just manage to focus on it and think about it for a while.

      Fly Me to the Mall
I am in an airplane of some kind, I am the pilot, and this doesn't seem odd to me. I have complete control of the plane and I am having no trouble flying it, as if I have been doing it for years. There is someone there with me, though I'm not exactly sure who he is. He is saying something about us being too high, we need to lower altitude, so I go into a dive towards the ground. The man with me starts freaking out and yelling at me that we can't lose altitude that fast, we have to pull up, we're going to crash! I don't pay much attention to the man freaking out, I feel confident that we aren't even close to crashing. As we get close to the ground I finally pull up and fly parallel to the ground. The man with me is cursing loudly and telling me I must be stark raving mad. He says he wants off and he wants off now, land the plane now. He is getting annoying, so I finally land the plane in the parking lot of a mall, I'm not sure how I manage to do that, but I landed the plane without destroying anything, not even scratching the plane. The man ejects the hood off of the cockpit and jumps out, face plants on the ground, curses some more, and then runs away. Damn… he ejected the cockpit hood… now I can't even fly the damned plane!

I get out of the plane and decide to go into the mall, where I strangely remember I wanted to get some clothing, though I don't want to go shopping for clothes now… I go into a store and buy a couple of items, then I pay for them and carry them out on hangers. There are now displays of clothing in the halls, all from one designer clothing store. I look around and see some shirts I really like, then I see the price on the tag… $128.99? Seriously? I put one of the items I have on one side of the item I want… then I pick up all three items and walk casually away from the display. I glance around and see there is no one watching me, that's good. Now to look for something cooler… video games. Maybe a Nintendo 3DS… maybe a new game for one of my other systems… I am trying to think about which game I might be interested in getting when I wake up.
