I need you to do me a favour.
Ask the higher cells in your body 'What power source they use to replicate, or do repairs to other damaged cells'
If you get an answer similar to mine, you are ready for the next stage of dreaming.
I chickened out, and chose to go back to the beginning, losing most of my dream control skills along the way.
You will know what I am talking about, if you get a good reply.

There I go again talking like some silly, half robed, nutter, sitting half way up a mountain.

So walking around in your own mind...I was imagining you would create a visual hall or space that is the inside of your own mind, and then visit the various areas that the brain controls or experiences. The hall of bad memories, the room of sexual wishes, or a theater containing the best visuals from your waking experiences. Then visit the parts of your brain that control your hands and legs and see if you can activate them so that your real-life body moves even slightly.

Have you ever explored the dreams you had when you were a kid? I used to have a lot of dreams about traveling through pipes as a kid and I would like to explore them in a lucid dream. Do you think you could revisit those memories? I was thinking this and saw TiredPhil's post but I wouldn't recommend the substances.

I spent last night having lucid sex, but it was a dream that had a timeline spanning some 50 years and involved living a life active in politics. I gave speeches and campaigned for various human rights...and I was successful. Could you control a lucid dream that started when you were a young age (say a young teen) and live a different life that involved making a major impact on the world? What positive things would you like to create in that scenario? I think that sums up the true value of dreams for the human species, making the world a better place, and controlling a lucid to give you room to explore those possibilities is a worthy pursuit, imho.

Long ago, I read someone used to teleport himself to some sort of Hallway with doors on the sides to visit his memories and he was able to remember an accident he had when he was a little kid, or something like that.

I wonder if it would be possible to remember things when we were infants.

I hope this thread does not make anyone dislike me. It may sound a lot like I am a show off,,, I actually can shift my awareness in an LD that reliably allows me to be aware of my body or parts and move in any way I desire. It does risk however me waking up. That is also a plus side, in that I can always wake instantly from an LD if I decide to. Here is a DJ link involving this,09-02-12 DEILD Testing REM atonia - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I love the idea of revisiting dreams from early childhood. I still have vivid memories of some reoccuring dreams from back then. Maybe by trying to recreate the feel of these dreams, I could learn something. great idea.

I also like the live an alternate version of my life. I am 42 and have no kids of my own. I never will. Seeing a cool mauntage style dream of me raising children would be intense in all sorts of emotional ways. I am not sure I could handle it, but I know it would be worth doing.

I have decided to take some of these ideas and complete them and post links in this thread when I do one. I completed two in my last LD. I did Melanie's live an alternate life one. That is a life in which I had children. It actually turned out very emotional and sad. It seems my inner self thinks I would have been very unhappy, got a divorce and become an alcoholic my daughter pitied. Still a worthy task and one that was creative and unlike anything I have done before, so thank you Melanie for the suggestion.

The other task was the second one I listed in the OP. That is find a pyramid at least as big as a truck, use TK to lift it,, flip it onto its point and spin it like a top. This went well but was not nearly as interesting as the first one. Here is the link if anyone is interested, http://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/siva...e-oh-my-49019/ Warning,,, it is my DJ post for an LD that spanned perhaps 45 minutes, so I have put the task part in bold, to make it easy to find those parts. The whole dream is interesting though.

I also think I will try the idea of growing crystals. I will just settle for growing 3 crystals each of a different structure in red, blue and yellow, but drop the idea of keeping all three in the visual field.
I also liked the food chain idea, so I would like to start as any small creature, get eaten by a bigger, which I then become. And so on for at least 3 creatures.
I liked the visit Stonehenge idea, but will add to it. Visit 3 places Egyptian Pyramid, Stonehenge, and Mayan Pyramid all in one dream, with somewhat realistic visuals.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. Feel free to offer up any more that come to mind.

Recently I have started a project of my own which involves something similar and I think it could fit in this thread: Recall something you cannot remember at all and apparently completely forgot from your infancy, it could be something you used to play with, an event, a dream, etc. Make sure it's a genuine recall.

I have a variant for this one (the opossite way): Jump into the Amazonas river and be eaten to the bones by starving piranhas, spread your consciousness on every individual and look for a dying one, and so on.. just ensure the body must be eaten by smaller creatures, cannibalism is not allowed .

Hi again, I am just updating. I completed the food chain task. I did this in 3 dreams, but the first was not vivid enough for me, the second only involved two species. The third worked. Here they are, 1:TOTM Shark - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views 2:A Swim as an Eel - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views 3:Completed an Advanced Dream Goal - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

I think I am going to try the grow three types of crystals in 3 different colors one next.

Any new ideas are still welcome.

Spin in place for 10+ minutes.

Harder than it sounds--for quite a few reasons (including this one.) ;-P

I'm trying this one for a time now and it looks pretty advanced for me:

Rise the mood of a city from a normal day to the day of the Carnival celebration party. Join a group with exotic costumes, wear a devil costume and participate in the great avenue parade, with dancers, musicians, street sellers, etc. Enjoy the party.

A cool advanced task to do is learning how to transform into something else as quick as possible. No gimmicks, just straight out. My favourite method is just squeezing my muscles and feeling my shape instantly change. It can be tougher to do than you think.

Close your eyes for 10+ seconds. This can make you wake up, but after practice, you should be able to realize that waking up shouldn't depend on what you do with your dream body. The dream world should be perfectly stable. I am still working on this one. I can close my eyes and teleport most of the time. I normally don't try it if the dream world seems iffy.

Take a sample of tissue from someone around you, use an electron microscope to capture an image of the cells under the skin, and see if you can walk within the cell.

BONUS: Strum the chromosomes like guitar strings and shred into mitosis~

I would bet money that one of the plants was Salvia. It is a weird chemical that hit totally different parts of the brain/neurons. Time distortion and seeing the past happens to almost everyone.
The combination I took did not involve salvia, but the effects are very similar.
Salvia trips last 10 mins, max. This lasted six hours.
I was not prepared at all for the experience, so only got a few details through.
If I knew in advance what was going to happen, I could have had a gameplan prepared.
A weekend trip to amsterdam could get me the ingredients again, but some memories need to stay in the past.
United States government would put you in jail for what is fully legal in other countries.
That is the main reason for not divulging the ingredients.

This one is of intrest to me. Sounds like fun and involves creating lots of details and effects, plus also allowing randomness in the crowd. Thanks, I may try this.

Just an update. I did an Advanced version of this, ie: cause 3 different forms of crystal to grow, one in each primary color. It is posted here, Crystal Growing Advanced Task - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views Thank you MelanieB for the idea! This was very fun and a great way to push my skills. This one is worth reading.

I also attempted one based one TiredPhil's post ie: Visit three mystical places, including Stone Henge all in one dream. I woke up befor getting much results. I hope to not teleport t the locations or just create them (just as a challenge). Here is the failed attempt, Travel to 3 Mystical Places Advanced Task Attempt. - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

Thank you for your help with this everyone! So far I plan on completing this travel task, and then doing the most recent suggestion of creating a whole city wide carnival event, complete with cool DCs (fire eaters, pie sales men and so on).

      Keep the ideas coming!

One idea I had is similar to some things already discussed here and it comes from a conversation I was having with fogelbise the other day... Shift your consciousness to "possess" another dream character, taking over their body and seeing from their perspective. You could try to incorporate the possessed DC's thoughts or memories with your own (could be very unpredictable if it's possible), split your consciousness to do this while maintaining your original dream body, or inhabit multiple DCs at the same time.

Box mentioned chaining dreams from different nights, I really like that idea. It's something I've been wanting to do long before I knew about LDs but I have only managed to do it in the same night when I wake up and go back to sleep, with limited success. I also liked the idea about creating / dissolving a dream body.

This might not be advanced enough for you but you may be able to tweak the idea into something that will work for you... The situation is that I have major problems in LDs with people fighting me and I've been trying different methods to avoid it when I'm not in the mood. Last night in a dream I was about to get in a fight (well I kind of already was but it wasn't violent yet -- I was fending off 3 DCs with a water hose) and I was able to touch a DC's forehead and change his intentions, he simply walked away. In another part of that dream I basically dismembered a DC who had attacked me, another DC saw me do that and freaked out. I touched her in the same way that I described and she calmed down and also walked away. Apparently I need to work on that because later the two DCs I had touched showed back up and were acting erratically like I had accidentally scrambled their brains or something. Oops.

I liked @luke396's lucid accomplishment about forcing a DC to age rapidly. Last night I got my 4 y.o. daughter's DC to grow until she was around 10-12 y.o. It was a pretty interesting experience.

I think it could be adapted into a more advanced task: Force an entire city to age rapidly for around 500 years or more. It should include not just DC's but buildings, trees, animals, plants, etc. The selected time should exceed the human's average life span and even any known long-lived time for a human on earth to see what your mind comes up with.

Heres an idea: create fractal patterns in the clouds, then enter them. Or perhaps you could try to recreate a piece of art you like from waking life as accurately as you can. (perhaps copy a version you summon to your dream?)

Heres another idea. Transform yourself into a wisp of smoke and then create and enter 3D fractal designs within yourself and see how long you can keep going. (this is a variation of my last idea)

Here's another idea: do the waltz with a translucent ghost.

Ask a dream character for an advanced task. You could conjure up Einstein, Ghandi, or an alien etc....
Use a character that, in your mind, has wisdom, and honesty.
Take your time choosing the person to be asked. Make a short list, then choose between them.
If you are having difficulty choosing someone to ask, just ask your subconcious to choose for you.
If this does not work, summon them all up at once, and get a discussion going with them.

Oh yes, we want some reports on your progress so far.

I have done 4 or 5 tasks from this thread I think. The most recent dreams are linked to in posts #32 and #42

#42 has a link to an attempt at a task inspired by your Stone Henge idea.

Update: I can not find where this was originally suggested, but I did remember to do it. So here is one more accomplished, that is aging a DC rapidly, Angel Wings, and Dream Guide Things - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
