      Outrage (2010)

Stars: Takeshi Kitano, Kippei Shiina and Ryo Kase

If you like mafia based movies and don't mind subtitles then keep this movie in mind. This movie details the struggle between Yakuza mob families to gain favor with the head family. There's lots of violent inappropriate scenes The movie is hard to follow at first because there is so much info to absorb at once, but its definitely not a boring watch. I've seen this movie two times, and the second time was so much better then the first. Do not watch this with your gf or any female. So if you like violence and gangsters then give this movie a try

Kind of a South Korean "Man on Fire" (which is one of my favorite movies). It's pretty good, overall. The English dubbing was horrible (as per usual), and the movie was a little slower than I thought it would be. I'd stumbled across the final scene, on youtube, and the trailer was really good. The final scene in the movie was freakin' phenomenal, and the movie itself wasn't that bad, but left me a little underwhelmed. Really, it might have just been the dubbing that really took me out of it. I'm not sure...

But the final battle scene is worth watching, even if you don't watch the rest of the movie. It might just entice you too, though. The entire ending is great, even beyond this point, but this part is not to be missed:

(Oh yeah; extreme violence and language warning, btw! )

      Casino

Stars: Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Sharon Stone

This movie is a classic thanks to Martin Scorsese and this wonderful cast. The acting is great, the story line is wonderful. If I had to complain I would say the movie is long, but that's a good thing. If you like mafia movies about gangsters running casinos and dealing with gaming commissions then don't look away. I've seen it about a million times, and when I think of great movies Casino always crosses my mind.

      The Avengers.

How do you make a movie about comic book characters epic without alienating comic geeks and movie goers who don't know anything about the comics? You get Joss Whedon to direct and write it. He was able to make the movie epic with out turning it into one big explosion. *I'm looking at you Micheal Bay* You could see it in the amount of wit the characters had, and the way even though we all knew that this was going to be a bad ass team, that it needed some time to come together.

      Things I really enjoyed
Towards the end of movie the epic and sometimes subtle ways they worked as a team
Everyone got a chance to shine
They did pretty good with powers (Thor fights "mortals" at 1/3rd strength...hulk is working his way to not becoming a complete maniac etc)
The way the battle was on several fronts, but didn't seem like it was too separated
The way they threw in "earths mightiest hero's" as a gag line....I mean come on...this isn't the 1960s

Spoiler for don't click if you haven't seen it:

American Reunion- I liked it....closest thing to going to a reunion I've experienced (dang classmates went to some super upscale ridiculously high-class place so I didn't go)

Underworld Awakening- Thanks Kate Beckinsale and your selfishness. Instead of seeing the series concluded in three movies, we get a prequel and a continuation. Who's the say she's not going to be done after this one? It would have been okay if the third movie in the series actually was a closer.

Cabin in the woods- Joss Whedon...you my dog, but it was kind of predictable. I would love to see an alternate of the ending.

It's incredibly rare for me to want to see a movie in the theaters; I'm not really a movie person.

But, the trailer for Frankenweenie caught my interest.

After seeing it in theater just now I would recommend it! I found it to original, entertaining and interesting- qualities I look for in good movie. It wasn't as much of a kids movie as I thought it might be which was refreshing.

Hi Oneironaut Zero, I watched it last night ("The Man From Nowhere") and it was really impressive. I was impressed by Won Bin's acting.
Is it really them who's talking in English? They're Korean right? It's amazing if it's them who's talking the whole time, I mean no offense to Korean but they're not really that good when it comes to English.

Nah, it was an English dub. A really bad one, at that. Some of the lines were read just awfully. I'm sure it would have been much better with just English subtitles. =/

Also, I can't wait to watch Rurouni Kenshin.

      Looper.

The premise was that they are taking the whole concept of time travel and have already shat all over it eventually. I hate it when movies use that "oh no, a past version of someone died, i guess that means current pictures of them start to fade out somehow rather than just having never existed in the first place!" concept, it makes no sense.

T'was still a pretty cool movie though.

      God Looper was shitty.

Spoiler for Unforgivable plot hole from Looper:

Enough about that piece of shit. I also watched Red Lights and it wasn't bad. I like the premise a lot though I found it poorly executed.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

Hotel Transylvania: Superbly creative animation (thanks Genndy Tartakovsky), but lame and forgettable plot. The best character was easily Dracula, by far. I only went to see it for the animation anyway.

      Get the Gringo (2012)

It was pretty good. I wasn't in love with it or anything, but I wasn't really expecting to be. Some plot holes. There was a Mel Gibson in it somewhere, if I remember. I'd recommend it if you're into gritty movies with deadpan comedy and hard-boiled "Private Dick" style narration. And people getting shot and stuff.

I don't normally like movies like this, but it was on Netflix and I saw a commercial for it earlier in the year. It was kinda good. I usually watch more intellectual stuff, but all the same I'll give it a:

Yeah, I liked it. It was better than the more recent Bond films, and it was nice to see a blend of the older films with the newer ones.
