Thread: have you ever seen someone do a RC in the real world

I have never seen anyone do a rc either, maybe they do rcs like me such as re reading text or asking myself
how I got here these types or rcs would go unnoticed.

I've only seen my brother doing RC
My friend one time saw me looking at my hands, when I thought she was not watching, she got really suspicious and said slowly "Yeah...that's your hands...". I probably looked compeletely out of this world, she thought I was crazy X)
People are also always asking me what "ADA" written on my hand is for

and no ive never seen anyone do an RC or does anyone i know know about LDing

I had one friend get big into it. He never got anywhere and got discouraged after a couple months.

I have never seen anybody do a reality check.



You have to keep in mind though that RCs are very discreet. Many are mental, and the rest are normal actions such as looking at your hands. I for one don't make it blatant.

i always pinch my nose for my RC, wow maybe we could start our own secret society and the nose pinch could be how we recognize each other

I have never seen anyone doing RCs, but some of my friends know about LDing.

When I do RCs, I don't really care about people's reaction, although sometimes seeing a girl looking intensely at her hands and trying to breathe through her pinched nose could be very strange If I ever see someone doing that, I would surely jump in front of him/her and start talking about LDs...

I've only seen fOrceez doing it, because we're been learning together but never anyone else, even others who know about LDing. I'm not very subtle with mine, and I've had some strange looks and 'wtf are you DOING?' when I'm sitting staring at my hands and counting my fingers

Nah, but if I did i'd run up to them and be like "You're a lucid dreamer..? Hey me too! " and jump on them.

lol No I've never seen anyone do an RC but I have gotten a few strange looks from people when I do them. I guess they just think I'm spacing out or something?

I don't get other people's views on lucid dreaming either. From the time I read about it, I was highly interested but it took me a while to start actively trying to become lucid. I didn't think I could do it. And when I tell other people about it most seem to have that same attitude you guys have described: "Hey that's pretty cool, tell me more" but when I try to help them try it out, its more like "nah I think I'll pass" or "what's the point?"

A good friend of mine started jumping like a retard this weekend when we went out. I asked him why the hell are you jumping and he said he does this cool thing called Lucid Dreaming. very cool coincidence

I haven't ever seen a person do a RC in waking life. But I have heard people talking about lucid dreaming a few times while walking around my college campus. Each time I really wanted to go and catch up with them and ask them about it but each time I didn't. Not sure why.

I've told one person about it, but they weren't interested.

It pissed me right off because as soon as I found out about it.. I mean c'mon, doing anything you want? Um, yes please!

Every time I do a RC in public I wonder if someone knows what I'm doing. I try to make it look natural, but I suppose I always secretly hope someone will know. Even if they did, I doubt there are many people who would say anything.

On the bus to school every morning, I would normally do the nose plug RC, and I've always wondered what the people around me thought, but I didn't care whether they thought I was weird or something.. And nope, never seen anyone do an RC, it would be awesome if I did, then I'd get that nagging feeling to go and talk to them, but I'd just shy away hahaa.

Also, I keep a dream journal in my pencil case, so whenever I remembered something in school, I'd just write it down. A classmate caught me doing it (hey every987, if you read this! ), when I told her it was a dream journal, she immediately jumped to Lucid Dreaming. . and we're close friends now . Other people who's asked me in school about the dream journal have said, "that's cool," "that's interesting," or once "that's weird," :/ ..

nop. im a pretty self concious person though so keep to the nose plug discreet thing irl.
the ADA one, never heard of explain? although if i like the idea i could get it tattoo'd and make some random meaning to it for when my friends ask "what does it mean?"

Never seen anyone else do it. I do the watch check RC. One time when i wasn't wearing my watch I told a friend it was weird not having it on and he told me I check my watch WAY TO OFTEN.

I saw someone do an RC once... that is, in a mirror.
Though I must say, I have on multiple occasions broken off a conversation with a friend for a few seconds.
"Hold on a sec, Andrew"
[does a nose-plug, checks digital watch, looks at a mirror]
"Thanks, just a reality check"

I guess I have really good friends, 'cause they were understanding of it. And they don't even do lucid dreaming (though they do know what it is.)

I've never seen anyone do a reality check. I once received a random compliment while wearing a DV shirt at the gym. I assumed the guy was a fellow lucid dreamer, but later decided he was probably just hitting on me.

I once saw a guy in a business suit and a suitcase pinch his nose while walking down the street. I thought it was kinda odd and did a reality check to see if i was dreaming. Not tho.

Only my friends who I've been able to convince to do them.
