I had a dream this morning that reminded me of this thread. There was a lot more to it, but it went sort of like this:

As I watched, there was a DC "Me" who was being told by another DC "Me" (as I also watched) that I must learn to be "better."

So the first Me shape-shifted into 2nd Me (forgot to mention that there was a slight difference in appearance between the "Me's," and none looked like the real me at all), which essentially amounted to no real change. Then 1rst, shape-shifted Me was confronted by yet another Me who announced loudly that the shape-shift did not qualify as a true elevation to the next level (no explanation of what the hell the next level is, BTW). Disappointed, 1st Me still tried to impress, but to no avail.

So: At least three "Me's" staffed this odd dream. All of them were independent DC's, but were overseen by one "viewer" who innately knew they were all part of the same overall "me," just more facets of the same dream... but even that viewer Me still failed to step up the lucidity (maybe I was having too much fun).

I think my tendency to always be a little lucid helped create that viewer, and I have to wonder what this dream would have been like had I been completely non-lucid.

I know none of this made much sense -- my dreams tend to be "you had to be there" stories -- but I woke up thinking it would fit nicely into this thread, so I figured I'd share.

I used to have these fascinating nLDs about UFOs when I was younger -- they always played out the same way but they never got old. I would be outside at night, either just walking by myself or with my friends, and come to notice a UFO (or multiple UFOs) in the sky. These UFOs would be close enough for me to feel vulnerable, but just far enough away to where they may not notice me if I was careful to stay out of sight. I never actually saw the aliens themselves, nor did these UFOs really do anything violent or destructive. They just sort of flew from place to place in my immediate vicinity...and all I did was marvel at them as a passive observer (and occasionally hide when they got too close).

Such a simple dream but, also so compelling and real -- I would love to be able to induce this type of nLD at will if I could manage it.

Sorry for the offtopic, this reminds me of the massive alien abductions reported in the 90's
Would you have reported one, if it happened to be a realistic LD? Just a joke
Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

Maybe if I had experienced sleep paralysis and/or some sort of alien-esque hypnogogic hallucinations. I didn't know what SP or HH was back then, so I suppose it would have been possible to misinterpret those experiences as something "otherworldly", like an alien abduction.
