I think I disagree with you. Though they are just terms, so it doesn't really matter. As long as what we are achieving is lucidity, it's all good (^_^). I don't want to make this thread go off topic so the discussion doesn't have to continue, I'll just leave my own interpretation here. People can read the MILD and WILD tutorials for themselves or ask elsewhere in the forums to decide for themselves.
MILD and WILD are techniques for achieving lucid dreams. WILD is when you fall directly into a dream from consciousness retaining that consciousness. I accidently had this two nights ago (though it was the DeILD variation). I could feel my body entering REM atonia and I started hearing auditory hallucinations. It's kind of scary and I don't really like WILD.
MILD is when you autosuggest and visualize what you want to dream about and the fact that you will realize that you're dreaming so that you can induce a lucid dream. That's why it's called Mnenomically Induced Lucid Dream. I used autosuggestion and visualizing, then fell asleep. Then later as I was dreaming I realized I was dreaming, did an RC and became lucid. So, I mnemomically induced my lucid dream. WILD was not involved whatsoever. After I used MILD, I just cleared my mind, fell asleep and lost consciousness. Like when someone normally falls asleep. With WILD, you don't lose consciousness and you can feel yourself falling asleep.
