      I would actually enjoy that kind of alarm clock, too. While the fact that it would only have an 8 hour setting would be a bit limiting, but at least it would not be annoying enough to actually wake me up when I would love to continue to sleep. It would however allow me to determine whether I can continue to sleep if I woke up and noticed that the sand had not run out. Alas, if the sand did run out, I fear my first reaction would be to panic and search for a watch to see whether that sand had just run out or whether I had overslept a lot.
