    Professor Penguinstein, Nearly manifested a lucid from the ground up (LD #118)

    I am on my college campus; somewhere. It actually feels like a couple of locations on the campus blended together. I can recall S being involved somehow, we were walking and talking about various things. S goes to class and leaves me in a courtyard.
    Then, some random male student starts yelling
    "Look! It's Professor Penguinstein!"
    I turn and look and I see perhaps the funniest looking dream character ever. I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman, but they were about three feet tall, very fat, with short stubby legs and they waddled like a penguin. He/she had long wavy brown hair in a ponytail, going down to their waist. They wore a cap and gown, and carried a big ruler. He/She had these huge cheeks, with a giant mole on one of them, and a voice like Thor that demanded respect.
    The student takes me to watch this professor teach a class. Supposedly this professor, also a scholar, had knowledge in every subject that they teach on campus. Also, PP was like 8 years old.

    There is some other part to this dream where there were some cheerleaders practicing in the quad. Some guys had stopped to check them out, but I found their cheer very annoying and took it as motivation to leave.

    Some dream showing me computer graphics about maintaining a healthy digestive system. Apparently I had been diagnosed with some disease that causes the fluids in your stomach to turn solid occasionally and this can cause problems.

    I am in 'the black'. I become lucid and realize that I am asleep. There is just no dream happening right now. Well, i'll just have to create one. I create the sky and the ground, and then for some reason a school comes into the picture, which was weird because I didn't consciously create a school. I am inside the school, but I can see out the door, the endless plane of rocks and sand in front of me.
    I then see Manei, very clearly appear in the school. I didn't consciously add her to the dream either. She is walking toward me, running her hand across the lockers in the hall. Dream guide: good. School setting: bad. I try to phase away the school by focusing only on her.
    I lose control and wake up.

      Imagining the way you described Professor Peguinstein makes me think he could be a pretty funny distorted cartoon character. The name Peguinstein is enough to make you think there would be something funny about him too. (つ∀<｡)

      Congratulations on the lucid! So you have a persistent Dream Guide, very cool! Oooh, from a quick look at Manei's tag, she goes back a long way. That's awesome! I'll have to go back through those entries some time and see how that built up.

      Is the school setting bad just because it's a bummer to spend an LD at school? Or are there other reasons?

      So you have a persistent Dream Guide, very cool! Oooh, from a quick look at Manei's tag, she goes back a long way.
      Oh man you're in for a treat. I only started tagging dreams in the past month or so. She goes all the wayyyyyyyyyyyy back to the beginning.

      At some points where lazy editing allows she goes by her old name (Lia) a substitute name I used before I knew her real name. If you come across any of those, shoot me a comment so I can take care of it.

      There were some other persistent DCs too. You might see me talking about a man named Marcus. And Manei used to have a boyfriend who I called Jack, but apparently they broke up or something because I don't see him anymore and how she's all attached me.

      There even used to be this nemesis character who I called Jonathan. I got sick of him ending my lucid dreams by 'killing' me so I removed him through autosuggestion.

      Is the school setting bad just because it's a bummer to spend an LD at school? Or are there other reasons?
      Pretty much. I didn't like the idea of a lucid dreaming taking place in an environment that I associate with more negative things. Lucid dreams are (as some guide puts it) a place of creativity and happiness. Neither of those are present in a school.

      That is very cool! I've had some wonderful, intelligent DCs from time to time, but apart from the ones that represent people from the waking world, I haven't had any persistent ones like this.

      So are persistent DCs as cool as they sound?

      Thanks for the info, I had no idea how far back your DJ went! Great stuff! I'll bet that you're glad you kept up with your writing over all of that time.

      I didn't get to get on DV at all yesterday sadly (got called into work early), so I'm just now seeing this.

      So are persistent DCs as cool as they sound?
      Manei and Marcus are nice to have around, since they can be helpful. Manei being my dream guide obviously, and Marcus having the character of an inventor/innovator.

      When Jonathan was around, he was just a prick who stopped me from LDing by killing me, and I'm glad he's gone.

      I never really knew that much about Jack; who was apparent Manei's boyfriend for a time. He seemed like the kind of typical jock/ladies man type of guy, but I never really knew him, so I couldn't say.

      This is really really cool. Thanks for the details on your cast of characters! I'm still looking forward to reading more about your experiences with Manei in particular.
