It's taken some time to get over my fear of sleep paralysis, and to go with it. Now that I've woken up from my nap, and started researching, I realize I could have gotten here a lot sooner! This is my first account of purposely submitting to my sleep paralysis. I felt my sleep paralysis start coming on while taking a light nap on the couch, in my living room. I made sure to tell myself to relax. As I did, I got a brain zapping, whooshing sensation and sound, which was something different for me right off the bat. I drifted back to sleep a couple of times and kept returning to my sleep paralysis state. Each time, I would tell myself to relax, and by the second or third time, I simply heard myself saying "relax" through my ears instead of actually thinking it. The next thing I know I am up, I think I was turning the volume down on the computer, and heading to the kitchen to grab some caffeine. My normal wake-up routine. But I remember thinking to myself how wonderful I felt. I wondered if this was a dream. In my semi-lucid dreams I can usually get to the flying point, so at this point I tried to jump twice to see if I would go airborne. (I guess I've been playing too much Minecraft...) I stumbled backwards into the stove a little, and realized I must be awake, I was not going to fly today. I let the dog outside... noticed I had new neighbors who had new dogs, but it was raining, so I decided I would wait until tomorrow to meet them. At this point I must have drifted into a deeper consciousness... or awoke, I don't remember. And while this is the most mundane dream ever recorded in human history, it is a huge leap for me. SP really is a doorway to lucid dreaming, and now that I experienced this, I can start honing in on it and having a lot more fun! As a side note, it is not raining out today, and my same old neighbor is there with the same old dogs...
So its been years sense I've had this happen to me, I had been wanting it to happen again, ever sense I found it it can be used as a catalyst to have a Out of body experience. Then it happened to me this morning! but the experience was a bit scary, I went to bed around 2 Am, then woke up around 9 for about 15 minutes then went back to sleep. Then awoke in sleep paralysis. I could see my body and knew I was in sleep paralysis, the room I was in looked different than my room, reminded me of a hotel room. I couldn't move of course and I heard this raspy dark voice speaking from behind me and(this thing was saying something over and over but I can't remember what it was.) I could slightly see a dark... creature, could feel it behind me. I sent a large wave of telepathic energy at it to make it go away. I could also see my boyfriend next to me but his body was black. then he said something to me, which brought me back a little bit more than I woke myself up completely out of fear of the thing behind me. After I woke up I realized I was just in between the physical and astral plane and that was a shadow creature that feeds off fear. I really hope I can experience this again soon but not freak out and overcome the fear so I don't force myself into complete awareness. Does anyone have any tips for inducing sleep paralysis or experiences with the shadow people? opinions on what they are?
I had completely forgotten about this site because of school and junk, so now I am starting lucid dreaming back again. I'm just going to list my two lucid dreams that I had while I was away and my first sleep paralysis experience. Dream One Lucid I was fighting in this war against these alien like creatures. I forget what they look like, but I know they were taller than an average human. I had a sub-machine gun that could fit in just one of my hands. It was all sliver with a flash suppressor on it. I was in the third story of a building that was half way blown up. The wall was completely blown up, so you could have seen us from the ground bellow us. Thankfully, only our teammates were there. With me, there were about four other people. We were all crowded around a door frame, shooting every alien we could see. Suddenly, I ran out of ammo. Next thing I know, I am down with the teammates on the ground, searching for ammo. Out of nowhere, I realize that I'm dreaming. I decided to try to spawn in another weapon, but it doesn't work, so I decide to just steal someone's weapon. I run up to a guy and take his weapon, which happened to be the exact same as mine, and started going up the building again. Next thing I know, I'm teleported to some classroom. I am non-lucid again. I look down at my hands and see that I still have the weapon. I then wake up. Dream Two Lucid I was in a room made of nothing but iron. I was sitting down in an iron chair thing when I think to myself "This is a dream!". And next thing I know, I'm awake again. Sleep paralysis I thought I was sleeping, and that I was dreaming laying in my bed. Instead of doing a reality check that I had thought of doing, I decided to just try to make myself fly. I started to feel tingly, and my ears popped. I thought I had seriously made myself fly in a dream. That's when I tried to move my arm. I couldn't move it, and that's when I knew that I was in sleep paralysis. I remembered seeing someone say to try to talk and get out of it, so I tried that and it didn't help. I then remembered that I had been told to try to wiggle my toes, and so I did that and I escaped my sleep paralysis.
Ok guys so i have been at this Lucid dreaming for about 3 weeks now! i will never give up on my goal to become lucid. recently I can say that i sort of had a lucid dream, but something wierd happen and i would like to know if any others experienced this same problem. the dream began with me at a mall with a close friend. Both of us were doing the normal window shopiing when my friend decided that he wanted to go buy a gift for his girlfriend. I told him i would go to the apple store, while he did his shopping. so my friend and i both went seperate ways---i of course proceeded to the apple store. it is in the apple store when things start to become strange. As i am waiting for my friend everything around me starts to fade---it was wierd the dream just start to disappear and i felt like i was just in a room filled with darkness. Then i noticed a white figure that start to arise from the darkness. It was a round white figure---at first i could see black smudges around it, but then as it start to come closer i noticed what it was. the round figure was a clock, like the one that sits above a wall in your regular classroom. It was strange, because everything was pitch black, and this now obvious school clock was floating towards my face. But then i noticed something else---the hands on the clock were spinning really fast! In fact they were spinning counter clockwise. That's when my mind realized that i was dreaming! and my voice called out this is a dream! after that the wierdest thing happened a strange noise arose like i was being sucked into the matrix after i realised i was dreaming. Even though i knew I was dreaming things were still pitch dark---i tried to move, but i couldn't. It was then I told myself "ok i know that I am awake, and this is first step towards lucidity, so i will just tell myslef to wake up". And there I laid in my bed, very happy with my first Lucid dream Sorry for the long story but my question is: can anyone explain why i couldn't move? no matter how hard i tried i was stuck! But i knew that i was dreaming so i dont feel like it was Sleep Paralysis
Fell asleep during my 8:30 class today and can remember so of my dream: I was watching my brothers baseball game and he was up to bat. A kid or two batted before him but I don't really recall what happened. The third base coach was his coach from real life and the kids were from his team too. The third base coach was yelling at my broher offering him tips after two strikes but then kept yelling nonsense almost as a joke and we all laughed. Then I awoke in my class and realized the nonsense the coach was yelling was my teacher lecturing. I often have dreams like this in my early classes and very offten just have what I guess is sleep paralysis: I fall asleep and realize Im asleep because I'm dreaming being in that class and something crazy happens like the other day my friend had grabbed a baby chicken and smashed it in his hand and laughed. At this point I try to wake up and imagine being slumped over in my seat and when I try to move or speak I can't until after sometime struggling to move.
I'm not sure where I was, but people were all panicked because apparently the moon was falling into the Earth. Realizing how ridicules that was I became lucid. Immediately after becoming lucid everything went white and I heard a ringing sound after a few seconds of that the ringing suddenly got vary intense for about a second. Then I was in my bed but I could barely move and when did I got sucked back into bed. I could also hear voices but I wasn't paying vary much attention to it. I manged to pinch my nose and I could breath. After a few seconds of trying to get out of my bed I woke up. This dream caught me off guard I hope next time I will actually be able to do something.
