How does a person go through objects?

How does a person go through walls , doors , windows , or anything in general? I always seem to fail at doing that, if you know some good tips on how to improve at going through objects in a dream I would appreciate your answer.

      Hi!
Personally, I would suggest to use this method just as a way to have some fun and experience something different. Long ago I used to push my hand starting from the tip of my fingers, against the material until it slowly started to go through it and then came the rest of the body, it was a little bit tedious and tended to destabilize the dream.
If I want to go to the other side, and there's no connection, door or window that I can easily open (locks never work ), it's easier for me, to draw a portal with my finger on the wall, then push it to open it. The material falls as it was made of Polystyrene. I don't have to wait too much and it works wonders.

This is one method I used to go through a wall:

I walked up to a pale wall and ran my finger down it. This caused it to crack. I stuck my fingers in the crack, and opened it...Shutting the rift, I run my thumb on it, sealing the crack.
However, your imagination is really the limit - do it however you want.

My way of doing that is through speed movement. Just run or fly directly to the obstacle a imagine you will just go through it like it's only the air. I just see blurred surrounding like when moving in a high speed and in a second I am on the other side. ^^

Sometimes your real life expectations can limit what you can do in dreams. Your subconcious says, you can't go through walls. You have to break down these expectations you have from real life for these things to be easier in dreams. Sometimes if you are having a trouble with it though try to make or find a door or at least a window you can see through to make it easier to get outside. Especially if your dream is unstable.

      Don't look at it.

Really--sight is honestly the big issue here, you can't hear or taste or smell the wall, and it's the fact that you see it that you expect to touch it. I've gone backwards through walls and floated through ceilings while looking down plenty of times before. It's fairly trippy, but it works.

If you, however, want to overcome your sight, then think of it this way: There really is no wall there. Your subconscious just feels like putting a simulation of a wall there, but it's your line of sight, and in a dream, your line of sight is taken from nothing: it's just, kind of, placed there. In reality there's a thing there and your brain interprets it and gives you the information through your five senses, but in a dream this data is pulled from nothing, it's just kind of... made up. This means that dreams really have nothing in them, so by theory you should be able to just... do whatever you want in that nothing. That wall is just your imagination.

^^ Summary of what Maxis said: just think like in the Matrix ("Do no try to bend the spoon, that's impossible, instead only try to realize the truth....there is no spoon").

In a pre-lucid moment (got lucid just afterwards) I reached a wall where there used to be an opening that had closed and I wanted still to go through. I knew I could, that this was possible. I was imagining my body moving through the wall with no resistance. I told myself, "there is no wall" and walked through (it was very "sticky" though, like walking through taffy, that took effort to move through).

Everything requires your attention to exist. More than not looking at it, put it into a blind spot. I use blind spots for everything from summoning, teleporting, shapeshifting, going through stuff, walking on water/fire/tacks.
