What is the darkest, most disturbing dream you've ever had, Lucid or non lucid?

Well I guess my darkest dream was when I had to commit suicide to escape the dream. It was a while ago. I think I was about 5 or 6. But speaking of dark LD's, I'm planning to destroy the entire Earth and watch it from space in a LD.

I was a tribal child having precognitive nightmares about people abducting tribal members during the night. I was obsessed with writing "they eat worms" over and over again.

This came true (in the dream) and the psychos abducted people during the night. They took them to a strange farm, hung their bodies and waited for them to die, and then they ate the worms and maggots that would come out of their decaying bodies.

I have many, but that is just my favorite.

I like your suicide idea, I tried to do that in a dream once but I didn't die.

I had the worst dream last night. I was at my old elementary school with a teacher. For some reason, the third floor to a building was completely inaccessable. I asked her why, but she refused to answer me. Getting curious, I began asking around. Turns out, hundreds of children were murderered my the school staff, and that floor was where all their dead bodies were. Hundreds. Of. Dead. Children.

Darkest dream was where I was in my grandparent's house, all of them were vampires, and a giant, floating, bald head yelled at me in the cold, dark basement. I was a child. No idea how old. This dream reoccured a few times in my childhood.

I was lucid running around suburbia in the night. All the lights were out making the backyards nearly pitch black. But I told myself "its okay im dreaming, nothing can hurt me". So I run into the backyard.

Alone in this eerie surrounding I think to myself, how safe I am because its just a dream. Then I start to think about the waking world, and how not safe it is. I start to think that somewhere is someone asleep in her bed like me, thinking she is safe in her dream like me, but she is about to be raped and murdered in waking reality.

Suddenly I wake up in a room. Its not my room. This isn't my bed. I'm disorientated, how did I get here, where am I? I hear the door open. Heavy footsteps approach me slowly. I know what's about to happen, what's happening right now somewhere in the world. My heart is racing. He's so close now. I can't bear to experience the reality of it. So I wake myself up, safe in my bed.

This dream freaked me out so much, its taken months for me to post about it.

The most disturbing dream I had was I was in the school cafeteria having lunch and it suddenly got dark, There was a man with an axe and he stabbed me. I tried to follow the kids and I couldn't get up. And suddenly I was getting unconscious in the dream and I saw a Crow and the Crow tried to eat my corpse. I could hardly move and I saw the students leaving me in the other room.

      It's hard to say.

I don't really remember them specifically but I used to have this old man appear in ALL of my dreams when I was little for about ten years and make them into nightmares. He was HORRIBLE. I swear to god I saw him at the zoo (in real life) yelling at a little kid on a field trip in 2nd grade. I was SO scared. Some things he enjoyed doing to me were: killing me in violent ways, pushing the car I was in off huge cliffs, killing people I liked, scaring me, etc...

I was lucid. I was holding a sheild, and threw it at someone. It became useless and didn't hurt them at all. So i ran up to them and ripped off their head. I gave myself an iron jaw and started eating into his neck. I could taste the flesh and feel the bones crunching in my mouth. I only took a few more bites before I lost my appetite and lucidity.

I was in a different lucid. I was looking for a kitchen knife. A man told me it was in the draw. I grabed it out. He was a large man, pretty bulcky. I blunged the knife strait into his fat. I started moving it around, cutting into his body, feeling the flesh been torn from itself. I looked at him, a look of pain across his face. I couldn't bring my self to finish the cut. So i withdrew the knife and threw it at someone else

I know its not that dark, but it just leaves me with a bad feeling
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

Last night i had a pretty disturbing dream.
I had a few thousand dollars i was trying to protect. Something highly intelligent and alien from some other world was stalking me for the money and trying to ruin me for some reason. I thought if i put it in the bank it would be safe. When i went back to the bank later they said it had been withdrawn. I asked how. The bank manager was confused and said I had came in here earlier and got it out.

I realized that thing that was stalking me was somehow able to impersonate me perfectly and get my bank details. So this thing was going around stealing my identity and still stalking me pretending to be me. And everywhere I went it somehow knew my next move. I got in some fancy cars and was speeding along the highways, just to try and get away and be hidden. It went on and on.

well, I've had many disturbing dreams, but this is a dream i had when i was like 6, and i still remember it because it was so creepy (i will probably read through my DJ for more creepy ones, i just wanna add this one because it was so weird and i was so young)

I was in my grandma and grandpas house, people were over or something and everyone was fighting, or they were yelling at me, something like that. I decided to go down the hall to my grandparents bedroom and there is a bathroom connected from their room. So i was hiding in there with my back against the door. there is a window to my left and on the wall (not a big window) that looks to the backyard. I see a devil, it wasn't like a real person but more creepy cartoony demonic looking, in the backyard and set the house on fire. The whole backyard was in flames and everyone in the house was screaming because he was burning the house down, i remember he was dancing for joy as the house was burning down. I remember running out of the bathroom ,down the hall and to the main room ,everyone was dead and the house was still on fire, i was like surrounded by fire. There is wallpaper in the foyer area by the front door (you walk into the front door and there is a little area, then stairs to the basement then stairs to the living room) and the wallpaper in this area has always been creepy, and when i was a kid, it reminded me of faces, and in the dream i was running down the stairs to run out and the wallpaper started turning into real faces popping out of the wall.

that's all i could remember, i was so young it was scary as hell hahaha xD i still remember the feeling as it all was happening
      From my rotting body,
      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.

I have one I still need help understanding:

I was non-lucid. This dream I viewed in third-person. I felt as if I were watching a music video, but I was unaware of myself watching it or myself even being there. Kind of like, I was in a music video but I wasn't a part of it. It was just happening before me.

I really wish I wrote this one down because forget the most important part. I saw two creatures. I cannot explain them in words because they are nothing we've ever seen. But they were creepy and very dark looking. They were in 2-D facing eachother in the middle of this cartoon green grass with cartoon trees and a grey blank sky. In a cracked, creepy old woman voice, the taller one sang to the other one this lyric which I forget because I didn't write it down, but it was just like a real song with a beat and everything. It was something like: "It's sad that we mistake life for mountain tops" or "It's sad that we create visions from sunshine" THOSE AREN'T IT and it kills me that I don't remember! But if I think of it I'll tell you guys. But anyway, it was a creepy, paradox-like lyric that made me really have to think about what it meant. I knew it had a dark meaning about mankind. As the creature sang this lyric, its head popped off and blood vessels came out of its body in 3-D (remember the creatures and the scene is in 2-D) and these blood vessels each had a head at the end singing this lyric along with the creature. The blood vessel heads came out of the body and moved across the scene from left to right in a group seeming to pop right out at me. As this was happening, the head of the original creature that had popped off planted itself into the 2D grass and millions more of little blood vessels sprouted from the grass all with different creepy little heads. All were singing this lyric that seemed to drag on forever even though they only sang it once. The 2D scene was taken over by all these blood vessels and they wrapped around the other creature, killing it as blood was spewing everywhere and the scene fell apart.

I have never had a dream like this. I am a fairly girly girl and don't think dark although I do think very deeply about life.

The funny thing is that I was not scared in the dream or after I woke up. I simply got a sense that everything is alive. Even the soil even though it does not have blood vessels. Like everything in earth is connected by some sort of consciousness or everything in life is affected by everything else on the planet. Colllective consciousness or pre-determined destiny or something. I realized that dark things don't scare me anymore since evil is just another part of consciousness itself. Evil must exist for the universe to work. If there were no evil, then we would all be puppets and have no free will. Awesome dream. I wish I could remember that lyric because it was stuck in my head like a song for a week and I just lost it.

I was five and I have never got this dream ever in my life.I never understood it at all.
I was in my room as usual and I walked in my house and no one was there. A taunting woman's voice said"Aww is the monster all alone? You deserve it" I asked the woman where she was. I thought I heard it from my couch and I ended up obliterating it with a small touch.I looked outside my house and there were corpses everywhere and I hear "You did that"from the woman again. I saw tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, and just massacre everywhere. I started getting sad and angry and then day was all of a sudden night and the planets were a lot closer to earth. It kept switching to night and day as I walked and I kept asking the lady to stop doing that because, she is hurting people. She said"Oh but, your doing it because, your a horrible little witch"I started begging for her to stop talking and everytime I moved I destroyed something and I couldn't get out of my house. Then she just kept chanting and laughing "WITCH WITCH WITCH"
I don't tell a lot of people about that because, It scares me.I was hurting all these people. I remember waking up in a cold sweat and my feet were on my pillow(That was normal I use to move a lot in my sleep)
It doesn't sound scary to most people but, it was probably the worst dream I have ever had.

Somehow my "darkest" dream moments usually involves me to facing the mirror image of me. Somehow it is pretty spooky to talk to yourself, a twisted and warped version of yourself. One time, when I had a very high fever, I was talking to a DC when his face started to melt and he became a version of me. A very haunting version.

In my most disturbing dream, I saw my grandfather's skeleton sitting in my living room. I was always scared to sit there then. A year or two later I found out he had cancer, and he died about five years after the dream.

I had a pretty messed-up lucid nightmare two nights ago (it was a very high-level lucid too, sadly)... I was trying to teleport to a different location and I kept walking into a darker, poorly lit version of it. I was doing it by opening a door and imagining the location on the other side. I opened the door one more time and was pushed down onto a ramp, on my stomach, in a very dark area that was definitely not where I wanted to teleport to. My perspective changed so that I was looking over my back, to the side. It was very scary because I was paralyzed, with the exception of some minimal movement from my shoulders and fingers. I felt detached from my body because of the perspective change; I could see myself but I don't remember what I looked like. I was calm and tried to coax the dream into letting me go, but it didn't help. I then felt a thin but tough, strong wire being pushed into the skin behind my shoulder blade. It hurt like hell. It's like the equivalent of stepping on a right-side up thumbtack, but slowly instead of coming down hard on it, and the tack is very long.

I woke up after enduring that for a minute, with no control whatsoever. I was lying on my side in bed and was a bit scared to move at first, for some reason. But in the time I was still, I felt residual sensations from the wire as I fully woke up; my shoulder blade twitched three times because I felt a tug where the wire was in the dream.

First genuinely scary lucid nightmare. Really hope I don't get something like that again.

I've ranted about my 'darkest lucid dream' several times. I've actually brought it up on this site under my old name. The following is the blog entry from the morning after the dream occured, back in May of 2005. Despite my track record for gaining contacts and friends on this site (or any site) has hit rock bottom, I'm willing to paste it accordingly. TL;DR it if you must.
      Last night....
... I had the most dark and twisted dream I ever had in my entire life as I recall.

Let me describe it to you.

I found myself standing in a hellish place, the sky was bright in a panorama of orange yellow and red. The ground was similar to that inside an aqueduct or a dungeon sewer, with platforms of cobblestone and dark tiles organized in a maze-like setting without walls, and trenches for the water. However, it wasn't water within the trenches. It was blood. Thick, red, and begging to scare the hell out of anyone who wasn't a vampyr or just straight up sadistic,... though I do admit, I wasn't freightened, just really, really curious as to where the hell I was.
I looked around myself, and saw a cloaked figure, walking away from me, as if leading me somewhere. Somehow, I knew it was a witch, or some type of sorceress. I went along and followed her, wondering who she was, and where she was leading me. I had the impression that the place I was at had to do something with a graveyard. I don't remember why. I continued to follow her until she took a right, and walked slowly toward this circular platform with a pedestal on it. I also somehow knew that she knew I was following her.
She walked behind the pedestal, and looked down upon it, where a strange red ruby box or figure was sitting, with a push-in switch on the top of it. She stared at it for a few seconds and then pressed it. When she did, this visible red aura of energy, like a bright glowing orb of webbing, emerged from it, and spread outward. It dissipated before it even touched me. I knew I was in a dangerous setting, with a witch-like woman I didn't even know, with an object I wasn't sure was for, but I was nowhere near afraid. I was curious. Still curious. I took a few steps forward and looked at the woman, trying to get a better look at her face. Finally, she looked up at me with an agknowledgable look, and for a few seconds, we just exchanged stares. Then.... the slowly began to grin, deviously,... and as she did, I noticed fangs.
Then, in one swift motion, she pressed the switch again. This time, the aura of dark energy did not fail to encase me. When it did, I became paralyzed instantly. I felt the pressure around me thicken, and then, pain strick. I didn't actually feel pain in my dream, but the impression of it told me that it was supposed to be painful. I began to quiver severely. I could feel my body begin to change. To what,... I don't know. The 'pain' came over my entire body, and I tried to scream out, yet the paralysis and the muscle tension of the pain caused me to give out nothing by a ghastly groan. Then, thats when I fell unconsious in my dream, and I woke up.

.... I am BEYOND what the meaning behind the dream could possibly be, but I knew that the supposed 'witch' was actually a striga, a vampyric being which resembles a witch. ... Perhaps the dream was some morbid form of inspiration? Or maybe,... it has worth, ... a meaning, on a reality basis. If that were the case, then I definately need to watch myself, otherwise something very bad will happen.

I also do recall when I was driving home tonight from a church youth session, I saw what seemed to be a falling star. That was something I haven't seen in a long long time. I doubt it has anything to do with my dream, but if it does, ... I'm keeping an eye open.

A few years ago, I SEEMED to "wake up" and stare at the room around me. The objects around me appeared as an amorphous grey sludge. My brain felt like it hadn't fired up in the correct way, like an engine trying to start. I was filled with terror and felt that if THIS continued, I will have to commit suicide. I sort of swooned, felt back asleep a bit, and then woke up later with an anxiety hangover. I DID have a bit of a fever and had taken an initial dose of a strong antibiotic the night before. I stopped the med.

Please don't perpetuate antibiotic-guzzling culture. I may be wrong, but it sounds like you were taking antibiotics for a "slight fever". This is bad. I hate to be so sharp and critical but every time you use antibiotics it decreases their effectiveness by creating super-bacteria. Because of such extensive abuse of these drugs, there are already many strains of multi-antibiotic-resistant super-bacteria, that kill a lot of people. Not only that, but as the problem continues, more and more diseases will become resistant until eventually the worlds health situation will be pre-antibiotic. Got an infected cut? You will have a chance of dying. Stepped on a rusty nail? You are fucked. Common injuries and infections will become lethal. And it goes further than that. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria could cause another great plague, which could kill millions. The bubonic plague is currently easily treatable by antibiotics, but without them, it would become very deadly like it has been in the past.

I want people to spread information about this so we can halt the progress of immunizing bacteria to drugs before it is too late. It is a real problem and it is killing many real people right now in the current day.

Again, I know this is random and extremely critical, but I felt a need to comment.

Ive had too many to tell, but the one that had the most impact on me, though it wasnt the most darkest and twisted, it really made me think.
Basically someone held a gun to my head (not the first time it happened but this time was different, so vivid and real)
I stared down the barrel of the rifle for about 5-10 seconds, I wasnt afraid at all, ready to die, I came completely come to terms with it and said "Just do it"
Boom. Right between the eyes, instantly. I felt the impact, the bullet going through, my body dropping to the floor my head smacking the ground.
And that wasnt even the worst part, i layed there for about 20-30 seconds, could feel my body getting colder and colder till eventually i felt it no more. There i was in a black void, aware of everthing, aware my eyes were closed, and seriously contemplating whether I was in heaven, or just a black void for eternity. So afraid to open in my eyes incase i was infact dead, i opened them, awake in my bed.
Heart pounding for the whole morning and non stop thinking about it all day.

I learnt from that dream, that though you can be ready to die, its a totally different thing to be ready for death.

I had the luxury of seeing my dad get hit in the shoulder with an axe...I felt weird when I woke up.

Hard to remember, but I think the most disturbing dream I had was a non-lucid where I was trapped in this very dark basement/dungeon place where this vampire/werewolf/monster guy lived. He had a bunch of almost inhuman looking minions that would torture or kill people for him. I did manage to escape in the end though, so it didn't scare me much.

Although I have had plenty of dreams where I get stabbed.

This isn't my darkest dream ever but it was just like a week ago and it's still got me disturbed.

I was in a cold gang war, like an undeclared war with an enemy cartel. I don't know if I was a drug dealer, but I was definitely an outlaw. Probably influenced by my breaking bad marathon. Anyway, I had a posse and one by one they kept mysteriously disappearing. To fight back, we started driving around in a van and grabbing them off the street then drowning them in acid (or I guess base, actually) and decomposing them, then dumping their remains down sewer drains along the side of the road.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
