How often do you RC in front of other people?

I had this thought when reading this topic.

So, how often do you perform Reality checks in front of people? When you're in the middle of the bus? When talking to your parents? When you're having a meeting with your co-workers?

I believe that the less restrained you feel about performing reality checks, the easier time you will have remembering to do them. Because if we begin to assuming that the dream is real, then if we don't have problems doing RC's anywhere, then it's more likely that we will remember them during the dreams right?

I don't really care where I am, I will just occasionally pinch my nose like scratching it to do a RC, no one will look strange at you and it works just fine.

I usually tend to perform the hands RC, but not the breathing one. And I notice that many times I'm automatically Rcing is when I'm alone which I shouldn't do

Haha I'm glad you brought up this topic.
Generally the weird stuff happens when I'm around someone, so for me then it's either the nose plug or looking at hands.
I've almost completely stopped doing the nose plug as in dreams it causes me to destabilize. To be honest I don't want my friends seeing me attempt to put my finger through my hand!
So yeah I do it whenever something weird happens!

I do it in front of other people. The nose-pinch isn't so strange, and looking at my hands.

But people think I'm weird anyway, so it doesn't matter. =)

I couldn't care less if I was just taking a walk and plug my nose right then and there. I make it look a bit like I'm just brushing my nose, but then again I try to keep it revealing. I'm not sure why; I think it's because I'm hoping there's other lucid dreamers around.

In my dreams I'm usually by myself, though, so it doesn't really matter if I do them around people or not.

Besides, it's mainly about the awareness and what your mindset is like in the moment. If I'm around lots of people I just be/act a bit skeptical, focus on objects, look at details, and see if I'm as mentally conscious as I should be.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      I can imagine that meeting...
RC's are like a secret code, then.

To answer the question, I don't really care who is around me... of course i do the less conspicuous RCs like the nose pinch or hand one, and not jumping to see if i would fly xD

All the time, of course. Why should I be discouraged by others watching? Not like they can see my RC but whatever.

I do puffins SAT whenever I think of rc'ing.
Normally if there are lots of people around I'll do the nose plug, so it's not really obvious that I'm doing something out of the ordinary, or what they consider " weird"
Most of the time I don't care and do the hand thing anyway

I RC infront of anyone - most people don't even notice, it's just looking at my hands or holding my nose, checking the time, things most people do in a normal day

I do hope I eventually meet someone in the street who is a lucid dreamer!

Yeah, i don't mind RCing in front of other people. I either used the finger through hand RC or the nose pinch.

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

When I started to learn LDing, I didn't know the nose-plug test, so doing other RCs (looking at clock, hands, reading, etc) in front of peaple didn't concern me.
Then I discovered DV and started to LD again. I read about nose-plug test here and I started to do it all the time. Since then I am afraid that my parents notice it (I have never told them about me LDing). However when going in bus I do RCs (especially the nose-plug test) noticeably. I kinda hope that someone interested in LDing notice me doing it and we befriend .

I don't care if anyone sees, but mine usually aren't noticeable. Rather than actually plugging my nose with my hand, I mostly just sort of block my throat and try to breathe through my nose, if that makes sense. It works equally well in dreams for me, though I usually do plug my nose too if the check fails, to make sure. Besides that I just count my fingers and question things mentally.

Heh, never thought on blocking the throat to perform the breathing RC, it's quite easier to perform. When I tried to squeeze my nose and try to breath, well let's just say it doesn't work well when you have the flew

After this I'm doing more RC's intentionally in front of people, also because of this thought:

      - If dreams are mostly actions scenarios (there's few or none dead moments) then you have more chances of actually be dreaming when you're interacting with someone, than when idling at work for example. At least it's what I think If the people notice my Reality checks (in the bus pushing my finger through my hand is actually noticeable) then it's actually better. I really want to perform them without even thinking on what I'm doing, because sometimes waiting a minute or two can get you distracted ^^

I sometimes do that as well; I get this weird pressure in my lower neck because of the change in air pressure. It's quite a strange feeling.

All the time! I'm always the weird and outgoing type at my school anyway, so people are used to it . I could literally go onto the school floor and start crawling around and people would say "Oh, it's just Conner, i'm used to it."

When I'm just chillin around i'll do the nose plug like I'm just scratching or touching my nose.
But other than that I would just look at the clock and look back. I get a lot of stares from the teacher though like type "oh you think my class is boring"

and i would give the "yeah LOL" stare back.

I should probably reality check around people more often. I normally only remember to do it when I am alone. I get too distracted when I am hanging out with people. This is a problem, because I am rarely alone in my dreams.

I do it in front of everybody. And no one cares, because they donīt notice me doing rcīs.

And yes, iīve met other lucid dreamers, because of public rcīs...

I was in a bar and i did the nose plug, i looked at my watch, i did the finger through hand, and suddently i felt a tap in my shoulder and when i looked back, there was this nice young woman...and she smoothly asked:" Do you really think this is a dream?"
I smiled and said:"Just trying to LD."

Since that we became good friends, and she became a master to me.
