Probbly regular nightmares simply because you don't know that its a dream so you are actually scared for your life wheras in a lucid nightmare even with little/no control, you still know that nothing around you is actually real and can also wake yourself up if you know how |

Regular nightmares for sure, due to the face that you think it's real when it's happening. In a lucid nightmare at least you know it's a dream. |

Wow, it has been SO long since I last had a nightmare (lucid or not). Hm... I would think a non-lucid would be worse, as it can feel like it is really happening at the moment while in a lucid dream you at least have the knowledge it is only a dream, and the possibility of waking up. However, as it has been so long since I have even had a nightmare, I have forgotten what they are even like. -.-" |

For me, feelings are probably strong in lucid nightmares. Where i feel just feel scared in a normal nightmare, lucid nightmares with no control are like.. whoa. |

I reckon non lucid. |

non-lucid, because I like nightmares and thus they are "worse" <.< |
|
i had a non lucid nightmare last night but i enjoyed it, the whole expierence of fear, and other emotions are so strong. |
|
As I mentioned in one other topic I had very scary lucid nightmare as a boy (6-7yo). Someone was always chasing me to hurt me. |
|
It's really hard for me to pick, but I'll have to go with lucid. I've had some really bad nightmares while lucid, having no control over the dream as a saw or something came down on my head... Eep. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have nightmares pretty often, but I have to go with the non-lucid ones being the scariest. Reason is that, since I was a kid, I've known how to wake myself up when I realize I'm having a nightmare. So even when I don't have a lot of control - referring to the power to manipulate the dream, itself - I can usually just wake myself up as soon as things get too hairy. |

In my non-lucid nightmares, I always "give up" and curl into a ball when I'm swallowed up by something or if I'm floating in a void, almost as if I'm lucid and that I know I'll eventually wake up. But I'm not lucid in these dreams at all. |

non lucid for me.since you dont know that its a dream, which makes it worse.i once had a dream in which I had to kill a demon that was attacking me.long story short,i ripped its torso in half and blood spilled all over for me.that was not fun |
|
I don't think i could say. i don't remember ever having a lucid nightmare but i'm pretty sure i'd hate it. in a lucid nightmare you'd be unable to control it, and most likely some ***hole DC is able to. in RL i'm used to not being in charge. in my lucids i can't stand it when a DC (which is a creation of MY mind btw) acts all big and bad and superior. if a DC becomes capable of subduing me in a dream i would most likely wake up angry because a pathetic DC is controlling MY DREAM. |

I have returned, but I'm not the same
I'm a shadow, a shell, it's no longer a game
Peace is dead, peace is gone
All that remains is a chilling song
I've never had a lucid nightmare, so I'll have to go with non-lucid nightmares. I've had some pretty messed up ones... |

nightmares 'cos you can't do Anything (to protect yourself) about it but to watch |

Goals:
1. Attacking my enemies instead of running away from them~ Ultimately taking control of my dream situation.
2. Remember that I can always summon a shield around me to protect myself in dreams. No need to fear!
For me it really depends on the particular dream. In general I'd say that regular nightmares are worse, because you don't know that it won't last forever. I've been through a hell of a lot of pain in lucid nightmares, but at least I have the comfort of knowing that eventually I'll wake up even if I'm unable to at the time. On the other hand, some of my lucid nightmares have been so long and so vivid that I actually questioned whether or not I wasn't just dead or in a coma or something. And that was much worse than a normal nightmare. |

i think lucid nightmares are worst.. cus u cant do nothing xD. |

I enjoy these Nightmares, I am grateful to them in a sense. It was because of having Nightmares as a child and forcing myself to wake that I became interested in and aware of Lucid Dreaming. Nowadays I usually don't have Nightmares ,but on the rare occasion that I do it brings me Lucidity. I am forced to fight back against it, and I realize this and become Lucid. |

I Dreamed a Dream
In it, saw people I've never seen
Gone places I've never been
And done things I'd do again.

Although I do agree that most of the time non-lucid dreams are worse, lucid nightmares can be extremely scary because the second one becomes scared, one begins to uncontrollably think of everything horrible and painful that could happen, and because it is a dream, IT HAPPENS. |
|
I have only really had non-lucid nightmares... except.... |

Love it seems made flying dreams
So hearts could soar,
Heaven sent these wings were meant,
To prove once more,
That love is the key,
Love is the key.
-The Secret of NIMH Lullaby "Flying Dreams"
Nightmares happen because you have stress and doubts. |
|
for sure non lucids are worse because you will be stuck in it with no power to change the situation until you wake up. |
