I also need my closets and doors closed before sleeping (I also check the closet and under the bed), and eat one type of food at a time. I've tried to switch and eat different foods randomly but it feels wrong.
I hate when people walk in front of me on the sidewalk, but slower than me, because I hate passing people. I hate being passed while walking because it makes me feel slow, so I'm afraid other people might hate this too and I feel bad for passing them. Sometimes I take otherwise unneeded detours, like turning and walking a block then continuing in the direction I was originally, just so that I don't have to pass someone.
I take walks every day and have always thought it would look stupid to randomly do a 180 on the spot and start walking the other way, back to my house. So I usually turn and wak a block, then continue back to my house down the next street.
I have a habit in which I press on the inside corners in my eyes, which makes a sound a bit like popping bubble wrap (not exactly). It's become so subconscious I thought I had stopped it becuase I didn't remember doing it in the last month, but realized I still did it a lot when I started paying attention again.
I wash my hands after touching anything that could be dirty, especially anything in the bathroom: the door handle, the lock, etc. While turning off the lightswitch and locking/unlocking the door, I try to use my elbow. I often forget that I have to touch something that could be dirty, so I often wash my hands, then touch the thing, then wash my hads again (seconds later). Also, I always line the toilet seat with toilet paper. I've heard of other girls doing this in public washrooms (although I didn't get it from them, I came up with the idea myself), but I do it even at home.
