Nice, that sounds pretty thorough. How come you've met compactness before?

To be honest I think attempts at relating the incompleteness theorems to theory of mind are almost always misguided. Attempts to deduce from it rather mystical conclusions about the mind having powers which computers don't are a particular annoyance.

I just made a $10,000 long bet with my brother that by 2063 we will have robots that can carry on a conversation with you like human.
With me saying it will happen.

In my opinion I just got $10,000 for free, so I'm happy.

This feels like the appropriate place to mention my sister just got engaged. Not too long before all sorts of little nephews and nieces start bothering me.

I recently reconnected with an old friend from highschool that I haven't seen in many years.

She got me a surprise gift for leaving my door unlocked one of the nights she stayed over...



I don't understand how she could've known it was one of my all time favourites, but its so lovely that I haven't had the heart to put anything in it yet.

I just found and sealed the openings in my house through which stink bugs have been entering. They were coming in through the flush-mount lights in the ceiling. I taped all of the holes shut with foil tape and no more stink bugs for the last 2 days.

Edit: I should add that I use LED lights which don't require the ventilation ports needed for incandescent bulbs.

-No one is really happy for an adequate amount of time before they decide to complain

Earlier this week, my current phone stopped working again. The speaker where I hear people through during phone call mute. This happened about 2 weeks, and it fixed itself after I called the Red Menace (Verizon) for a replacement. They said just send it back since it works to avoid the headache.

Monday, it did it again for WAY longer, so I called and since this would be my fourth replacement, they would send me a whole new phone. This morning, I finished rooting and flashing a new ROM to it, so it's all good. There were a few headaches in there, but all-in-all, it works really well now. I love when technology works perfectly like this!

So I came home from work today and found a package of my favorite tea from my brother sitting in my box.

He is seriously the best ever.

I got contacted by a publisher. It's really cursory, as they just want to read my manuscript, but I am allowing myself to be excited for now.

It's a good day when I go to let my turkey out of his enclosure and he hasn't pooped in his food bowl.

i'm happy that i switch schedules with my co-worker. my co-worker was complaining that she wants to work more hours so she can make more money so i told her that i'd be willing to switch schedules with her. it was ok with the manager, so now i work only 4hrs, 4 days a week, giving me more time to do other things i enjoy.

I had a birthday party for two friends at a piano bar where we dominated the requests. It was a lot of fun with singing and drinking. Tomorrow, we will have their surprise party.
