Did anybody here explore outer space?

I've always been interested in doing some space exploration in an LD.
Did anybody here do it? Was it scary/creepy and not what you had expected, or was it beautiful and mesmerizing?
I just wanted to know if I should have it in my to-do list or not.
(I only had 1 LD so far (two days ago), just planning ahead here haha)

I haven't done it before, but definitely on my to-do list! I don't see why not.

      Doiiit!

Once I was flying at warp speed during transition and managed to open my eye. In the distance was a beautiful dark pink galaxy. Another time, I was flying to the orbit, but overshot and when I finally came to the stop, I was in middle of nowhere. Couldn't see earth or moon.

If you like space, be ready for some mindblowing imagery.

It sounds like it would be difficult for a new comer like ourselves, i have read that it become hard to keep concentration while flying if you can't find stuff to focus on.
However this is definitely on my to-do list! If you could master it it must just be the most amazing sights!

I've been out there more than a few times ... it's not as hard as it sounds, and, depending on your imagination, it can be far more exhilerating than you might expect.

I've had experiences of being sent through space without intending it. On occasion I have become lucid only to be spontaneously lifted into the air, flying through space at unimaginable speed, coming to a halt in front of a beautiful spiral galaxy.

I've been on space stations many times, as well as various assorted traveling ships. Some of them involve moving back and forth between earth and space, or distant planets and galaxies. There were also a couple of times where I was in a bar or restaurant somewhere on a space colony, overlooking the stars. Of course, I can't also forget to mention the dream I had years ago where I was an intergalactic militiaman, and joined a battle group consisting of unusual beings from other galaxies as well. I even had a bit of a fling with a DC in this dream; a sort of fleeting infatuation that was subjected to the battles and other situations a militia would go through.

Now, if you would consider...uhh..."experiences" influenced by certain "substances", I had one that involved me being in a sort of enclosed intergalactic "hot tub", except containing a much more viscous, life sustaining, "mud-like" substance, where I traveled through the galaxies, and the universe. I had a certain degree of control over these travels, and it was quite a visceral and vivid experience.

I remember flying around in space in non-lucids mostly. It's pretty easy, but it's scary for me since I always feel that the sensation of floating around, and with random things that might occur would prevent me from having a decent exploration. There was one dream where I was viewing a Star Trek type of space-ship with a Starbucks logo on it.

Then I recall one more dream where I wanted to travel through the solar system and pick a planet, and I ended up going to Neptune. However, because my mind made the planet mostly water-based, it scared me to death since I hate any dream where I'm deep underwater. And one more dream from the top of my head is that I jumped really high from Earth, floated around space for a bit, and then shifted myself a bit to move a few hundred miles from my initial point in the dream as I was falling back into Earth again.

It reminds me of a dream I had a few years ago (not lucid of course), I was out in space and the entire space vaccuum was actually water, like a huge ocean, and I was floating about in the space water.

I haven't really explored space, but I have tried going to the moon a few times.
Once when I got there it was much smaller than expected, (a few feet across?) and very windy.
      It's all in your head.

^^ Except that this is one of those things where the journey is every bit as important as the destination. Besides, wouldn't a new galaxy be just as difficult to picture as passing empty space?

Also, all that passing space might offer up a fine blank canvas from which your dreaming mind can work; surprises may abound during a space trip, so maybe it's worth the extra effort?

But if it is a lucid dream, why would you want to imagine a lot of blank space? I mean being in the univers and exploring galaxies, I am all for that, but does it have to be so realistic that there is a lot of blank space? You can fly through a dream universe in which there is constantly some interesting planet or sun or galaxy to occupy your field of vision and mind, right? No need to make the amount of blank space realistic in a dream, right?

^^ I meant a blank space as in blank slate, to be quickly filled in with what you encounter on the trip.

Yes, your journey might include much traveling through "space," but it need not be "blank!"

Space can be, and in reality is, full of many wondrous things; if you keep that in mind during your flight, you'll encounter very little blank space at all, and very many exciting scenes about whose source you will truly wonder.

Because none of of have ever been there, space is one of those unique dream schemata that are fueled purely by imagination ... and, if you're into believing that sort of thing, it may seem that you are not the only one doing the imagining.

Give the trip a chance, and if you do take that trip with the full expectation that that space won't be blank. Keep your mind and curiousity fully opened, and you will not be dissapointed.

I just reread your post, JoannaB, and I realize now that we are both saying the same thing. So I guess this post was unnecessary.

Might make it on my to do list. If so summoning up a dream car or motorcycle with rocket engines to travel with would be my choice rather than flying with my own body. Seems easier.

Yeah, I've had quite a few trips to space. I've been on the moon a few times, been in ships/mechas that were in space a few times, and just flown around amongst the stars a few times. Really fun stuff and highly recommended!

I think it would be cool to go to the moon!! I should try it!!! I should also go to other planets too. That would be so cool. These things should be on my to do list.

I've been there once. It was before I learned about lucid dreaming, and I got there involuntarily. This dream was when I was 8 years old. I got thrown into a cannon and they launched me, I kept going up and up. Even the flying up there was amazing, but when I got up there it was..just simply mesmerizing. I saw the moon and lots of orbits in the distance. I kept spinning around to try and get the full view of it, and every time I'd notice something new. Sadly, I felt myself starting to come back down, and the ride back down was not nearly as fun as the one back up. I ended up plummeting back down to the earth xD

Yep, space exploration is definitely one of my dream goals. Space has always fascinated me. Once I can sustain lucidity for a little longer I'm definitely going for it!

this happens to me alot, while in a lucid dream the world starts to zoom out and i see it getting smaller and smaller until i am in the limbo state but still aware and keeps my eyes closed.

I love wearing IRON MAN armour in my lucid dreams. specially that brief case version from ironman 2 because it is easy to summon.
