Question Do you know if you've experienced a DILD?

A DILD is a Dream Initiated Lucid Dream.
In layman's terms, this means that you have become aware that you are dreaming while in a dream, after previously not being aware of it. It doesn't matter whether the phenomenon lasted a few seconds or wasn't very obvious or vivid; it still counts as a Dream Initiated Lucid Dream.

Research survey. Please select Yes, No or Unsure in the Poll.

If voting "Unsure" please give a brief explanation in this thread on why.
e.g. I think I experienced this phenomenon, but it didn't feel very 'recognised', so I can't remember for sure.

If selecting "Yes" or "No", feel free to also give a brief explanation on your experience/s.

Thanks for your participation, it is greatly appreciated.

You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

Yea, back when I started all this, I put in an immense amount of effort. And it was because I was so highly motivated.

I was frequently Reality Checking, etc. And also made use of auto-suggestion (Basically, I told myself throughout the whole day, every day, that I will lucid dream. And while falling asleep at night, I would have it constantly in my mind that I would lucid dream)
I also did WBTB for most of the times I successfully DILDed, if my memory serves me well.

I ended up having success within my first two days of knowing about lucid dreaming. And my first was in fact a DILD. I think I was in my room and about to leave it, then as I passed my light switch, I thought "huh, I remember somewhere on DV saying about a light switch RC." So I decided to try that. (I don't even know how that particular RC worked out for me)
I then looked at my hand, etc. And pinched my nose and breathed out.

I am fairly sure I had actually realised it was a dream before I even pressed the button. So I am pretty sure the RC itself did nothing for me except confirmation.

Yes, twice. First time, I was licking some attractive girl's tongue on an airplane, then I teleported to a parking garage and said, "Hey, I'm dreaming" with absolutely no prompting. I didn't even need to RC, I just stabilized and flew around for a few minutes before making myself wake up (at the time, I didn't know lucid dreams could last for what feels like half and hour). I forget the second time, but it definitely happened.
I don't usually think, therefore I mostly am not.

Yes. Multiple times. Seems to be my main method of induction at the moment.

Nope not yet. I've been trying for about 2 months to experience different types of dreams and have not been able to. Not sure if it's because maybe I have to do more research and practice more or if it's my Seroquil dosage I take to get to sleep because of my insomnia.

All except possibly one. They're so simple, not necessarily easy, but simple. Once you've had a couple DILDs, it's easy to get more, because you know you can.

      That's what I always say!

The more LD's you get, the more likely you'll get more, and faster! OMG, I say that ALL OF THE TIME . Like, if you don't want to, after getting a "small handful of LD's" (I say that a lot too ), you don't necessarily have to work as hard, yet still get a lucid now and then.

This is mainly (exclusively?) how I become lucid; it's quite random, and it can happen once every day for a few days, or not happen (at least as far as I recall) for a few weeks.

I sometimes reality check, but most of the time I just become aware that something seems out of place (although it can be just a feeling, something very subtle, and in other dreams, dinosaurs or ghosts would not make me question my surroundings and become lucid).

I had a nightmare when I was little and a rat bit my finger. I had a feeling that I could wake up when I wanted to end the dream, but I stayed asleep for about 30more. That's the earliest DILD I can remember, but I may have had another before then (But can't recall). I've had 2 others where that was the case. I knew I could wake up, but usually stay asleep, then wake up soon after

Other DILD's are in my sig and don't really care to fig out what they were right now, lol

My first DILD: I was sitting on the toilet with my headset on listening to "Ain't no rest for the wicked" on my mp3 player. I look down and I see that the PINK jack is plugged in. When I know perfectly well that Green = Headphone and Pink = Microphone! So I then stand up, rub my hands together and run out the front door!

Yes, definitely. Usually through random spurts of awareness during a dream.
To truly know someone is to have seen through their eyes while they were dreaming.

PM me if you want to get acquainted. Looks like adoption's not an option.

I think your Research survey is going to be a little biased being posted on a Lucidity forum. . .
